    Thanks Chris for the great info on the BM. I have owned my 2001 model, r1100s for 20 years now. I'm having it restored at the moment as I still love this motorcycle. Same colour yellow as seen on your vid. Cheers👍

    Thanks Chris, a very informative presentation which I greatly appreciate. I recently picked up an 2002 R1100S, my 5th BMW. I am slowly working through it getting servicing up to date, your in depth videos have been priceless.
    It is great that you share your depth of insight and experience. A blessing to all BMW owners.

    Thank you Chris! I throughly enjoy the spirited ride my 2000 R1100S(A) gives back. Having owned it a short 14 months I’m slowly learning just how different this is to work in the the HD. All the info on the web/TH-cam is amazing. Fbook groups as well. Take care - safe riding

    Great vid,
    I have only had my bike for 3 weeks, it has the 5.50 rare wheel and the factory heated grips as well as Remus De Cat Exhaust along with a few other bibs and bobs.
    I have already done 1700Klms on her and love it. The information in this series has been fantastic.
    Really appreciate the effort you have gone to.

    Loving this. Just took my 1999 R1100S out for a spin today. 110k miles on the clock, and is still a blast to ride. I try and ride it about once a week. My main bike is a 2006 R1200RT.

    Thank you so much for these Chris, I've had my '04 since '11 and don't see myself ever getting rid of it! I have the mandarin and grey not the boxercup, but think mine is best looking of the bunch haha. A bike full of personality if nothing else, I really enjoy the quirks you don't get on any other bike. I was told recently that there were three models.. the base, a sport, then the boxercup. Is this true? And if so is there any obvious ways to tell the difference between the sport? Thank you again for all the videos I've been watching yours on the boxer motor since I got the bike! I hope everyone else wants as many R1100S videos as me lol.

      Yeah, keep it Whitt. A late R11S in one of the best colour schemes IMO is a bike to cherish. I had a yellow/black Sport model from 2001. The paint scheme was the Boxer Cup Replica (Randy Mamola edition) but yellow/black instead of white/blue, and without the carbon stickered-up belly pan and fancy Laser exhaust.

    working on my R11s and took a break to watch this latest episode of the series. Really great, thanks Chris. I don't think anybody else could do this. And you make me laugh.
    If you cover the frame: I followed the BMW book closely when I put my frame back on recently., because of the warning about cracking. I'd be very interested in what you've got to say .

    My R 1100 S now has 60000 miles surely the clutches already been replaced previously and the spines maybe got a shim To lineup proper? Seems to work fine as a little dead dropping neutral into 1st unless the engine is spinning Immediately before that.. Otherwise Feels vague shifting in the 1st and as you let the Clutch out slightly then it will clunk Into 1st Gear..

    Hey Chris, could you explain to me on a 2011 r1200 pinging on acceleration make a video if you can. I'm being told they all run like that. 2011 dual overhead cam pinging on hard acceleration I've tried the gas even an additive. Nothing has helped. How do you do the timing on these motors? Can a newbie do it? I doubt it. Help me. Chris
    I hope you're feeling all right

    Chris I think my hall sensor is faulty on my r1100s boxer cup 2002 it seems to run ok when cold but when warmed up it misses quite Badly and rev counter seems to stick in one place at times, does this sound right for hall sensor fault,
    Regards Chris

    Chris, this series on the R1100S was a perfect video for me. I have the ABS version. I always thought that this model was one of the best-looking BMWs. I have one problem though. I am only 5'5" and I can't reach the ground comfortably. Is there a way to safely lower this beautiful motorcycle? Thank you for doing what you do for us. Be always well. Peter

    So what might be the cause of the backfire through the intake?

    • @GadgetMart
      @GadgetMart 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cam lobe moved? He mentioned that.

    • @raybrensike42
      @raybrensike42 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GadgetMart But what might cause a backfire through the intake on some BMW twins? That problem showed up in another video and I was wondering if the cam here might have caused that problem also. Sometimes on malfunction can produce different problems to occur, but sometimes not.

    Nice one Chris. Lots of different things went on with this development. Some steps forward, like the frame, but the clutch splines? Was that design project given to the work experience kid? When all the clutch spline failures came in at 16000 miles - ish, did BMW pay up? Or, was it an out of warranty argument? LandRover are famous for that, really shit customer service attitudes. From a selfish point of view, the bike isn't in my cosmetically pleasing department, not one I'd get. We're all different.
