I truly like this pattern and appreciate how you explained the process step by step and made it seem so easy, which it is. I have made a few shawls in the past, however I didn't like the end result, therefore I searched for a helpful video and saw yours. Thank you so much for sharing. Jeanette
Love it! That would even make my beginner work look nice. Thank you for putting the written pattern on the screen. It makes for an easy way to learn to read patterns without having to start cold! ❤
I just got some chunky yarn and I was wondering which pattern I should do, then I seen this video! You explained it really clearly and I feel confident I'll nail it. Thank you!💜
I love it! This would be really nice as any kind of bag with a colorful or even floral lining. I made a crochet market bag not long ago and I added a lining because it was too stretchy. The lining really fixed that. Thank you Lindsey!
Thank you Lindsay, I like this a lot. Will definitely be using this stitch pattern. I enjoy your tutorial and I made many of your Gnomes, I love them. The Santa Gnome was a big hit with my family and friends last year. 💜💜💜 Them all! Enjoy your day crocheting 💜🙏🤗🧶
Thank you so much for this video!! This was very easy to follow unlike the videos I watched before I found your channel. 💕 such a pretty pattern I love it!! 🙌🏻
I plan to do more. The first handful that I have sketched out are pretty simple designs but I think they just make a lovely pattern a that is a change up from what you normally see. I think I have sketched out about 26 different designs. Now to just to hope I find enough time to make videos for them all.
Thank you for this pattern! My husband even commented on how cool it looked. Please post more of your patterns! You have such easy videos and amazing creative ideas. 👏
I finally had an idea for yarn I need to use and I’ve been looking for a more is open stitch the words? As I want to make a more lightweight springtime/early summer or around the house type cardigan thing. This is definitely the stitch I want to use for it! I like using stiches like this with larger hooks to get a more open and lightweight feel to what I’m wearing. Thank you for this easy to follow video!
You would need to decrease at the beginning or end of the row. Work a DC2TOG while skipping a stitch between the two stitches that you are working into.
When working in rounds you would have to do joined rounds and you could work all in one direction or turn the row. I normally like to work all in one direction.
Instead of working a DC in a ST, I would work a (DC, CH1, DC) into a stitch. For a Decrease I would simply work a DC2TOG into the DC stitches and just skip the CH 1 in the middle.
@@WindingRoadCrochet thank you so much. Especially for the immediate reply. As I waited I proceeded with skirt. On the sc rows I did my increases there . I’m at a point in project where I can clearly see results. I think when trying new stitches on a garment in particular. It’s tricky figuring out exact method of increasing and decreasing. Good thing there are many paths to a satisfactory result. ~Sage
I’m a beginner and I’m just checking to see if you’re using both front and back of the stitches when you go across. Am I correct in thinking that the front and back are always used unless you see it stated otherwise? Answers from anyone are appreciated.
What I would do is work a (Double Crochet, Chain 1, Double Crochet) all in one stitch. It would add an extra 'window'. If you are increasing on the side to make it slant outward, then you can work 2 double crochet into the first and/or last stitch, then when you get to that spot on the next row increase again but this time work a Chain 1 between the DC.
Hey i have a quick question so im doing a project that needs this design but as i get to the second row of dc stitches the amount of stitches changes and i cant forgure out why. It throws off the whole pattern. Ive checked how many sc stitches ive put and i had not missed anything.
The way I work it up the stitch count should not change. You should work one SC into every DC and CH 1 space. The big question is does the pattern count the turning chain as a stitch. I do not count my turning chain as a stitch but traditionally crocheters do count it as a stitch.

This is the most understandable tutorial ever for this pattern

This is awesome! 🤗 I made a few hammocks for my rats with this pattern and they are a hit for the summer 🤭🥰
Great idea!!

Linings are perfect to prevent stretch. One day I would like to do some videos on adding linings and other sewn elements to crochet.
@@WindingRoadCrochet ...that would be great! You did a fantastic job on your video and I love this stitch pattern!

Thanks. I hope I get to sit down and crochet today.
This is a wonder pattern to make a summer cardigan so easy to follow and because it's such a nice and simple stich
It really is! Thank you!
Yes I love the stich attern. I will definitely use it for the next Barbie dress. Anita Jacobs. South Africa.
Lovely

Thanks for this! I'm adding it to the bottom edge of a shirt, and wondering how I might best do a decrease for the last few rows
You will want to work a DC2TOG but skip a stitch between the two double crochets. That way you are eliminating an "arch".
Thank you .making a mesh netting crochet for a three granny square bag
Sounds great!
very neat, would make a great summer item. Thank you for sharing
You are so welcome!
Beautiful explained ❤
Thank you. I hope to do more stitch tutorials soon. I really like to find stitches that I don't see many other tutorials for.
Will try this stitch for a summer scarf Ty 😊
It would be perfect for that!!
Wonderful stitch ❤
Please how do you make decreases with this stitch?
You would need to decrease at the beginning or end of the row. Work a DC2TOG while skipping a stitch between the two stitches that you are working into.
Very pretty!
Thank you! 😊
Very clear thank you ma'am ✨️💗💗
You're welcome 😊
Beautiful stitch! When working in rounds, do i work continuously? Or i turn my work after each row?
When working in rounds you would have to do joined rounds and you could work all in one direction or turn the row. I normally like to work all in one direction.
@@WindingRoadCrochet Thank you.
Very helpful, thanks so much 🔥💕
You're so welcome!
I made a blanket with this its gorgeous.
wonderful!
Thank you for this video. Currently, I’m using stitch for a skirt. May I ask how do I implement an increase/decrease?
Instead of working a DC in a ST, I would work a (DC, CH1, DC) into a stitch. For a Decrease I would simply work a DC2TOG into the DC stitches and just skip the CH 1 in the middle.

Nice stitch combination you’ve come up with. That would look good as the bottom part of a summer top. 🧶💕🧶
I think so too!
Beautiful
Thank you
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I'm thinking this stitch would work nice for a small curtain or valance.
Great idea!
If I were to use a foundation single crochet instead of a chain, would I want any odd number of stitches?
yes
I’m a beginner and I’m just checking to see if you’re using both front and back of the stitches when you go across. Am I correct in thinking that the front and back are always used unless you see it stated otherwise? Answers from anyone are appreciated.
Yes that is correct. When I use only I will refer to it as Front Loop Only or Back Loop Only
Hello! How do you increase and decrease using this kind of stitch?

Either that or it's just not going into the last stitch
The way I work it up the stitch count should not change. You should work one SC into every DC and CH 1 space. The big question is does the pattern count the turning chain as a stitch. I do not count my turning chain as a stitch but traditionally crocheters do count it as a stitch.
@@WindingRoadCrochet thank you very much!! 😁😁
Does it have to be an h crochet hook?
It is just a stitch tutorial so you can use whatever hook you like.
