Thanks Michael, great to hear your views of the Level! It looks very promising, I will also post a video when mine arrives (currently in transit to to UK!)
At first when seeing the pictures on the forum, I was very sceptical about the looks but seeing it in this video, I kinda love it! Especially the cloth with the aluminium! Love the buttons on the top too! Though I do think white keys would've looked better but that's just a minor details! It also reminded me of many products they have, what first came to mind is like the older Beolit radio's with the all speaker front! Really nice! Looks like great craftmanship once again. How big is the sound difference in laying it down and putting it up, I wonder? If there is any at all? Due to vibrations and positioning. Great video once again! Thanks! :D
@@sandybee01 Yeah, it's an amazingly flexible product, everytime I see it, I like it more and more! And yeah, I'd love to see what those cover legends will do to it! :D
the buttons are a sort of off white, it's hard to pick up on camera... the sound is in many ways very different when flat but to the listener it's sort of more similar than if they didn't change anything. It's hard to explain really, I'll try and show it in the soundtest video, I haven't yet experienced any vibrations and so far it's rock solid.
Hello, thank you for the review. I was wondering does Level require being connected to power to run room compensation? I recently bought A5 and it won’t allow you to measure the room unless you connect it to power which I find very strange especially for a speaker that’s meant to be moved.
Thanks and yes, I believe it does. Don't know why, I can only speculate that at certain battery levels one of the pulses draws more than the battery can provide and would cause issues.
Great video! Can't see it fitting into my current setup though. I was hoping for something like the Beolit but with wifi and airplay 2, a competitor to the Sonos Move. If the Level could be used in a surround setup that would be great but they'd need to update / upgrade the Stage to allow surround speakers. Maybe a system priced between the Stage and Harmony so we can build a surround setup and update the LG panel every few years to future -proof it...?
I would say this is very close to a beolit 20/17 and is portable with wifi and airplay 2, it's portable too but probably less easy to carry around. They will bring software changes, so who knows what we will all be able to do in the near future :D
I got bored with the B&O networking so I use Roon / Tidal with my B&O equipment as Roon endpoints seems to wrk wel, well a lot better than networking with the B&O app I have ordered a Level as a patio speaker networked to Roon and will hopefully be in sync with the rest of the house.....
regardless of the sound quality I think so because the M5 has a flaw in that it'll start to vibrate and at points resonate whatever it sits on. My heavy marble table started to make noises with an M5 that was audible enough to be annoying and a Level doesn't do that at all. In the end they are very different products though, M5 being static and the Level being portable.
Thank you for the video! Do you think it will be feasible to use it as a regular speaker using the line connection? I am thinking to used them as surround with my BV11.
Yes, but I don't know if it'll function like a beolab though. It will certainly accept line in signal but I don't know what the native latency is and if so how to compensate for that with which setting. I shall have to enquire about that.
Great video, always the nice little touches with the Halo and BROne on the table 👍🏻 I just cannot fathom why on earth NL is not included.. I mean even the cheap little M3 has a place in my NL system. I would not want this speaker without. Secondly, can you imagine two of these speakers, perhaps in oak, mounted on a back wall as part of a surround sound system - what an absolute winner that would have been, they are practically made for hanging on the wall!
the spec sheet say something about it being part of the Connected speakers (range), so suspect that this is the new (coming) platform......when it comes, who on earth knows.......
@@sandybee01 thanks for the info Sandeep. Nice enough little speaker, just doesn’t fit into my setup at the moment. Actually think I prefer carrying my BS1 out into the garden over ‘a box’ 😄
@@EbbesenBrian its also battery powered and wifi, as opposed to some of their portables which are BT only. I could see myself getting one for my main bathroom, where I have no power outlets, so a battery WFI speaker would be useful.....though, I'd definitely wait to see if the new Connected speakers play nice with NL products......
@@sandybee01 That’s a valid point, makes sense as a battery operated bathroom speaker, providing it sits on the network i e the B&O/Halo etc. ... or, just drill a small hole through the wall into your bathroom, cut over a figure of eight power lead, stick it through and plug something in. I’ve got a BS2 plugged into my en-suite that way 😉
they say eventually it'll be all made to work together, and then even more than now it'll be a huge winner imho. A lot of people don't use NL and it's fine for them, but for those of use who do, we'll have to await a little bit.
Wouldn't a single bigger woofer and two instead of one stereo directional speakers be better, I don't know but it looks like they could have utilised the space better.
Yes, NL means it's the Beolink protocol over regular network(cat cable or wifi). The old Beolink went over ML which has it's own type of cables and had to be run separately. And YES! It's fully supported now! :D
@@divyagarg7858 The M5? I have a few videos on my channel about the Beoplay M5. The level is better but both have line in, so if your alexa has a line out it'll work.
Hi Mike! I just bought my new level and found something interesting. When I test it with playing some speaker stereo test clip from youtube , the sounds from the left speaker (in the video) seems to come from the right of my level and so do the same for the right (then to go the left). I am not talking about the stereo paring. I just only have 1 Level. Do you see the same ?
I've heard about this a while ago and thought it was fixed in a software update?! Is yours up to date? if it is, write to B&O and let them know. It's nothing mayor it's just a little bug :p annoying none the less though.
@@lyndonramchatesingh105 I love B&O over everything else personally, I like their sound signature and how flat it is. This video isn't about the beolit 20 obviously but the beolit 20 is great for the size and sounds really like it's bigger than it actually is.
I don’t like the high gloss plastic strip used for the touch buttons. It scratches easily and collects finger prints.. wish they used a different finish for the touch buttons! It’s an awkward speaker to be walking around with.. disappointing
Walking around with it seems fine to me, but obviously it could do with a bigger handle if you wanted to take it outside properly. I have no issue personally with the top strip, it seems to hardly catch my fingerprints at all and I haven't managed to scratch it :p
Thumbs up if you want to see more videos👍

How it sounds compare to beolit 20?
Better, also it's stereo vs mono.

Please compare it to Beosound 2 and Beosound Balance. Thank you
I shall try and do so, first on it's own though. how do you want it compared and what? the balance is not in the same league for sound.
@@Mikipedia Beosound level < beosound 2 or beosound balance?
I like beosound 2 for looks and the sound it create.
The BS2 vs Balance I already did and you can see it here: th-cam.com/video/5LYFLUgkSbY/w-d-xo.html
I'll try and get some time to do level vs bs2 :)
