Question: "communicate form in your drawings..." - meaning the illusion of form? In painting/drawing (two-dimensional art/design), is the term form used, or shape.? Does form exist in two-dimensional art/design? Sorry for such basic I'm trying to understand how to differentiate between the terms form (as in three-dimensional art) and shape (on the surface of a plane). Thanks for any input.
Shape is 2d, and form is 3d, as you said. These are about the subject of the painting or drawing, not the actual surface of the canvas or paper. So, yes, you can talk about form on a 2d drawing material. I hope that clarifies it.
