Very excited about this pic. He’s going to be a beast. The translator didn’t do a very good job translating. He mentioned how this was his lifelong dream since he was a child and constantly repeated how he will do everything he can to make it to San Jose as fast as possible.
Bro the sharks got celebrini at 1st Dickinson who was ranked 8th Chernyshov who was ranked 20th and Sahlin Wallenius who was ranked late in the first round!!!
Yup, Essentially 4 "first rounders". Defense is looking much better with Dickinson, Sahlin-Wallenius, Cagnoni, Muk in the system. I guess we'll figure out a goalie later LOL
@@matt_thompson85we get a free agent goalie. We basically have "all the pieces" now. We just need to let them cook and supplement with free agents. And since GMMG has been working down our "debt" lol we are in a fantastic cap situation for the foreseeable future. (Separate from the cap increases yearly) It's still gonna be an uphill climb, but now we have the tools. Great weekend for the sharks!
Not too worried about the goalie part yet, wasn’t a great class this year but glad we picked one up anyway. I think when they identify a potential starting goalie they’ll do what they can to pick them up.
Welcome to San Jose, Igor! " In the 2022-23 season, Chernyshov led MHC Dynamo Moscow in scoring with 38 points in 38 games. He is one of a small number of Junior Hockey League (MHL) players to record a point-per-game pace in the year before their draft-eligible season.[3] "
I’m a tad disappointed we didn’t use one of our 2nd round picks on a Russian goalie. They have been pumping out talent for years with the goalie position.
He'll learn English. If he helps the Shark's win the cup, that's all that matters. Nabakov will help bring him along. Just give him a Duolingo software program.
1st order of business is to work on his English speaking ability. glad the Sharks got another 1st round talent early in the 2nd. i had him ranked around 20 OA.
@@joelcarrillo294 needs to be able to communicate well w/TM's in an English-speaking league, if that isn't obvious. it's part of the "Russian factor" that shies GM's away from players, fair or not. if it also escaped your notice, i'm happy about the pick.
He has a few years to learn more English but likely Russian coaches on the team, too, 2-3 years he’ll be ready, he’s only 18, needs time to grow in the KHL.

Igor thinks he at least should have been picked in the teens, he might be right
