A slightly weird moment when I am binge listening to Manu Pillai interviews while I work out in the gym only to hear my name at the end mentioned in the context of social media celebrities. I’m with Manu on this one - the statistical skew in the distribution of English speaking people in India creates the illusion of celebrity but it’s not remotely on the true scale of Indian celebrity (like movie stars) that transcend language & medium
100% true.. Manu is one of the few young scholars I like listening to and reading.. a balanced human being with a good sense of the nation and world around us..
it's hilarious to watch media and historian of post 1991 reform generation talking about today's time as bad time. They have no idea how bad it was in pre-1991 world where one has to wat for years to get a phone line or a gas cylinder or a bajaj scooter and not to mention the problems, issues in stage like kashmir, assam, punjab etc. in 1980s.
Educated Indians speak and think in English at the cost of Sanskrit. That is not a good thing either. I'm not saying to cancel English. But illiteracy in Sanskrit is unacceptable.
Self proclaimed GENIUS people talks like history/past times is a good peacful happy age...that is an utter lie past is always bitter we are improving everyday ...so present is better ....and anxiety is always here in the past present and future too....by the way i didn't saw the vedio..i just commented by reading thumbnail

Matured conversation. Thanks
Exulted to hear that Dr. Pillai is coming out with his fifth book late this November!

why is he complaining about Kamasutra being a "male gaze", given that he is one of those "male gays". What a "bottom" line. 😂😂😂😂 IYKYK.
You're so lame
Vatsyayana is a male name if you didn't realize.
@@prasvasu4217 i know it. you didn't get the sarcasm maybe.
Bro not all men do male gaze. It's really bad to call decent people as gays
@@mithamurali9945 I don't do that. In the case, this author is actually, gay.
