This detox nonsense is like the false belief that humans only use a small portion of their brain. Edit: then again, the "we don't use 100% of our brain" myth doesn't hurt people.
Yeah if you want a real detox just have a good diet, i always see people eat nothing but junk food and then drink a supposed detox thinking it negated all of the junk food they ate throughout their life
As a nurse, I can safely say lectures would have been SO much better if presented like this. Most case studies were on paper. No dramatic music or B roll. No dramatic voiceovers. These videos are gold! And oh god, he mentioned Jilly Juice haha I love how he stays current with online happenings

Brain injury is a horrible thing for everyone involved. I lost my lady of 8 years to her having a blood clot, and that blood clot despite me immediately doing CPR and the ambulance showing up 3 minutes after she fell, still it took 30 mins of CPR to get her blood pressure and pulse back but it was enough to consider her brain dead. I didnt know what to do when she was in the hospital bed, because the EEG hooked up to her just had nothing but flat lines.. That was the hardest thing for me to ever go through in my entire life. Her physical form was there, i could hold her hand and run my hands through her hair, but as if it was like a car with an empty gas tank, she just was gone at the same time. She was right in front of me, but nowhere at the same time, and i feel for everyone who has had to go through such an event, wether personal experience or a loved one.
I appreciate the way CE never blames the patient for these things, but focuses on condemning the quacks that would convince someone to do something like this, and how medical professionals never took her seriously
Uhm... Sometimes people NEED to and deserve to be blamed for the dumb stuff they do... For instance, I'm sure she knew salt water would kill her if she drank it so why should she think flavored salt water would be any different....
@@sumo-ninjadid u watch the whole video? This woman had just gotten out of a psych ward for schizophrenia… she certainly didn’t deserve to end up in a hospital

I love how the opening of the video starts out like its going to be some slam poetry or a rap or something, then it draws you in with someone doing something stupid, then it fills your head with science and fact. I always walk away smarter, safer, and a little more worried. Keep up the great work.
Up until the last 2-3 min of this video, I just thought this woman was absolutely insane. But then when he started talking about how she was never properly diagnosed or given real attention to what the actual issue was, that it led her to such a bad state where she harmed herself, it made me really sad, I got shivers because I'm sorry for her. I hope nobody has to go through that kind of misdiagnosis, and just being apparently let go by doctors who should be there to help you. I wish the best for her
This case reminds me of the phrase "when you hear hoofbeats, think horse, not zebra". This poor woman's doctors thought horse, as psych issues seemed to be the most sensible and logical problem. When in actuality, it was actually the zebra. The tragedy of this case is heart-breaking.

This hits and hurts. My late sister developed Celiac and lactose intolerance, post cancer treatments for both breast and colon cancers, both of which metastaticised. She adored dairy, and had just begun "Pickle's Nibbles," baking cookies (using her knickname, which I'd given her as a child). Come May 23rd, 2018, she was 47, mother of two, stepmother to another. She died of complications from her third colon cancer surgery, and chemo. She was my only sister. My little sister. I miss her so much.
I'm so sorry :( I hope her children and loved ones are holding on somehow.. loosing my father to cancer and mother to subsequent depression shattered my life - I hope they will be well. Rest in peace, Miss Pickles ❤
So sorry for your loss. I'm still not over my brother and he's been gone longer than we were together. He had brain injury from the abuse received as children and they made a mistake when they diagnosed him as a diabetic in his adulthood instead he was type 1 that rare kind that you find mostly with people of indigenous American background but they gave him type 2 medication A big no-no it messes with the heart. I've never gotten over how the doctors in California didn't treat him properly thought he was schizoid. Luckily he ran back to the state we originally came from and paternal adoptive family that took him to the right doctors who were familiar with this condition that was happening too the local area indigenous people. They ran the proper tests realized he was diabetic got him insulin straightened out and he led a fantastic life until the brain injuries received as a child cropped up as an adult continuing to grow as tumor like problems between the lining of the brain and the skull. I loved him dearly. I will never get over his loss but I have made sure that I live each day for The both of us for what he didn't get to do.
Sorry for the long response, I got carried away. If you read anything, please read the second paragraph, because I see the burden you carry and I recognize it as one I’ve bore. I hope the anecdote offers you the relief it offered me, although we’re at very different parts of our journey. The first paragraph is just about my little sister, my pickle monster. Please don’t read it if you think it will hurt you. But it might make you laugh. I am so damn sorry for your pain. I cried for you today. Reading your comment made me nauseated thinking about my little sister, who is the biggest pickle fiend I’ve ever met. I literally chose this video to watch because my little sister adores soy sauce so much that she used to drink it when we were kids. She also loves pickles so much that the whole family teases her about it. We couldn’t start a road trip growing up without pulling over at the first Quik Trip or 7-11 so she could get out and grab a couple of those pickles in a pouch to snack on (still can’t really, but our road trips are much fewer and farther in between than they used to be). We took several road trips a year for my parents work and to visit family, and I got to the point where I HATED the smell of pickles because it’d stink the car up and I got car sick easily, and after a while, the scent became associated with it. Plus, she never remembered to pack a pillow, blanket or jacket until she got much older, which meant she wanted to borrow mine, and I was reluctant to give her anything I planned on using myself because she drools in her sleep (always has, always will)!! And yep. Her drool smelled like pickles. So anything I gave her to use always smelled like pickle drool. I never told her no, but I learned fast to always pack a blanket I wouldn’t need on long trips, or just a jacket for short trips. Anyway, back to her love of pickles. She also buys them every time we go to the movies, and during one thriller film, the big bad giant monster jumped out very loudly, and it literally scared her so badly that she threw her pickle and all of its juice ALL OVER ME. Now we have a moratorium on theater pickles if we’re seeing a thriller, action or horror movie. But I don’t hate her pickle habit quite like I used to. She doesn’t live close to me anymore (we both married men that are tied down in different parts of the country), and I miss her terribly. I’d put up with all the pickles to have her nearby. We’re almost Irish twins, being 20 months apart in age, and it feels like I’m missing a giant piece of myself by not having her around. Plus, she had her first baby last fall (the first between us, as well. My husband and I are still getting our ducks in a row) and I love her dearly. I’m gonna do everything I can to get our families back together, because I need it for my own mental health, and because I always thought we’d raise our kids together. As the big sister, it drives me crazy not being able to look after her like I used to. I still do what I can from a distance, but it doesn’t soothe that urge. When they first moved away, I started seeing a psychiatrist/therapist because my mental health nose-dived really badly, and I developed clinical depression. One of the things I talked about with my doctor was how badly it hurt to be unable to be there for her during the transition (my dad got a promotion and moved to a new, much bigger city, and I didn’t go with them because I had just met my now-husband and he had asked me to move in with him instead of leaving with my family). I didn’t really understand how badly that specific thing was affecting me until I started talking about it out loud, but it was driving me insane. She had to transfer to a new college (we used to take most college classes together), find new friends, find things to do in the new city, all of that stuff. It made me sick that she was doing it alone. My doctor usually didn’t say much in response to my venting, but when he did say something, it was always very impactful. One day, I was telling him about how my sister was having a hard time adjusting to her new university, and how frustrated I was that I couldn’t fix it this time. He responded kindly and told me about how many older siblings grow up feeling responsible for their younger sibling because of the way we’re raised. He talked about some of the ways parents accidentally teach older kids to take on that burden of responsibility, like saying, “look after your little sibling while you’re at the park!” And he wasn’t blaming the parents or saying they did something wrong, he was just pointing out how their actions affect the child down the road and how they view their responsibilities. And he said it was frequently harmful for the older child because they grow up feeling responsible for another human being before they have the skillset, the tools, or the authority to do so, and as a result, they’re set up to fail. And as adults, they still feel responsible when they have no control. The doctor didn’t say that any of this applied directly to my situation, he was just talking generally about kids growing up with younger siblings, but it gave me a lot of relief because it did apply to my situation. My judgement was always better growing up (she’s still a bit of a hothead), and my parents relied on me to make sure she didn’t leap over the log before she looked, so to speak. They didn’t punish me for her behavior, of course, but they told me my judgment was better and I needed to keep her safe, so I still felt a huge responsibility. What the doctor said gave me a huge relief, because I finally realized that my burden didn’t belong on my shoulders. I still wish I could be there for her, but I think about what my doctor said when I get overwhelmed because I can’t protect her. I hope you can talk to someone that can help take some of that burden off of your shoulders as well. Take care ❤ “And they all said, ‘I am sorry for your loss,’ as if you were something that could ever be taken from me.” ❤

However nowadays the good info is so buried and mainstream medical posts have whitewashed the good info. Occassionally bad info like this happens but there is far more good out there than bad and it's now very hard to find. But the bad makes everyone angry and forget the suppression
My celiac disease symptoms started when I was 14. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 21. Doctors blamed all my symptoms on my period. It doesn't shock me at all that she went for other options just to be believed.
I had a similar experience trying to get my pelvic pain conditions diagnosed here in the Midwestern US. Years and years and so many doctors. That was my 20s.
The concentration is also important. There's so much other stuff that the chances are slim you would die from excess sodium, but rather something else. I'm not sure what about eating 10 pounds of bacon can kill you, but I'm pretty sure it can haha.
It's truly horrible that some people would spread such damaging misinformation. I'm glad for things like this channel existing to help educate me and others.

I heard about a case from a family friend who is a nurse, a man came in convinced he had colon cancer. He checked all the boxes for the symptoms, but didn’t have any actual tumors. His undiagnosed celiac’s has gotten bad enough to get to the permanent-damage stage. My brother also has celiac’s, and lived with pretty severe chronic fatigue for almost a year and a half before diagnosis. He can’t even eat at restaurants because of the possibility of gluten cross-contamination.

It was hard for me to understand that, even though i am very knowledgable on these topics. BK is a 30 year old man presenting to the ER for nausea and headaches. Earlier that day BK was browsing TH-cam until he saw TH-cam rewind in his recommendations. BK watched it. 4 minutes into the video he felt nausea, headaches, and vomiting. When BK left home to buy lunch. He felt dizzy and finally. He fainted. And was sent to the ER where we are now. BK is suffering from a medical condition called "Hypercringemia". " "Hyper" for high. "Cringe" for cringe. "Emia" for presence in blood. It means high cringe presence in blood. Too much cringe in blood can damage your brain cells and can cause a Hemmorhage. A "Hemmorhage" is where a blood vessel in the brain bursts, And blood escapes from it. If the kidney filters the blood, It can be damaged because of too much cringe and because BK has too much cringe presence in blood, He might have kidney problems. But let's go back to BK's past medical history. BK was diagnosed with "HyperInternetemia". "Hyper" for high. "Internet" for Internet. "Emia" for presence in blood. High internet presence in blood. Which leaves us with the first clue. BK has used too much internet and has become very sensitive. Meaning that any normal Internet video can affect him. But the TH-cam rewind isn't "Normal". A few days later they found a strange spot in BK's skin. This spot is caused by a virus called "Fortnitemyelitis". The question is. What caused him to contract this virus? Exactly. He had contracted it from the TH-cam rewind video. A few days later. BK was transported to another ER where a different team will take care of him. With proper medication and a supportive team. BK was able to make a full recovery and he is free to live a full, happy long life.

What about heavy metals that the liver can't make soluble in water? Most people, epsecially in the United States don't eat a diet that lets there body detox properly. Coming off of a clense right now, my body was deficient in fats even though a large variety of healthy fats made up 50%+ of my diet. I got rid of at least 100 gulstones, some the size of pennies. Also, have you ever seen bloodwork done on someone before and after a cleanse, I have. I dont know how you can say cleanses are a sham.
PurplePredator12 yea, there is a right way and wrong way to do it. Also everyone's bodies are different so what works for someone may not work for you.
There seems to be a very strong connection between the intestine and a person's mental health, and there's definitely not enough awareness of this in wide parts of the medical world. When I showed up at the emergeny room with acute abdominal pain, cramping, vomiting and diarrhea, I was misdiagnosed with a panic attack. It later turned out that I had no less than 42 gall stones. Lesson learned: Never eat a plate of dumplings and lentils when you have these, it's bound to make you suffer! And yet the cold sweat and hyperventilating that occured along with the other symptoms were misleading the medical staff. Never had these types of symptoms again after my cholecystectomy (removal of the gall bladder), but if I hadn't been correctly diagnosed by my GP a week after the incident, I might have ended up in psychiatric care.
So sorry you had to deal with that too. I was writhing on the floor of my school clinic in more pain than I’d ever been in before. I had been losing weight because I couldn’t eat. I told them it was my gallbladder and I wanted to know if zofran would help me be able to eat. Clinic marked it down as anxiety, left me on the floor. (same clinic that wouldn’t give me a doctor’s note for choir when I had pneumonia, so I ended up pushing myself too hard and getting it again) I only had school insurance so I thought I was done for. Then the ACA passed, I qualified, and I was able to go to a different hospital that immediately diagnosed what was wrong, and set me up for a life-saving cholecystectomy. I had lost over 60lbs because I couldn’t eat. The old clinic would have seen my corpse twitching on the ground and wondered if I was worth referring to psychiatric care. ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELVES!

I'm sorry for your loss, this comment was touching. ❤
Take care ❤
“And they all said, ‘I am sorry for your loss,’ as if you were something that could ever be taken from me.” ❤

A man watched YT Rewind 2018. This is what happened to his brain cells.
A person on youtube watched this video and commented on it, this is what happend to his penis

I'm doing the liver cleanse. It has one simple step:

THANK YOU FOR SAYING CLEANSES ARE A SHAM! they ALL are...
SOO RIIIIIIGGGHT!!!
Ppl are crazy to do cleanses!!! I had a stomach bug once, and when I finally got better - in the beginning- I started to have a weird surge of good feeling, I guess it was just a contrast to how awful I felt B4.. (like the kids here up North who get excited on the 1st 50degree day in March & must wear shorts!!)
This is what I think the gimmick is with the cleanse. Intentionally make yourself ill for a short feeling of euphoria afterwards.. Meanwhile also screwing up your electrolytes, etc!!
Just Foolish.
@@PurplePredator12 Its because they are a sham.
PurplePredator12 yea, there is a right way and wrong way to do it. Also everyone's bodies are different so what works for someone may not work for you.
Just eat a bunch of fruit. You’ll be cleansed all right
There seems to be a very strong connection between the intestine and a person's mental health, and there's definitely not enough awareness of this in wide parts of the medical world. Never had these types of symptoms again after my cholecystectomy (removal of the gall bladder), but if I hadn't been correctly diagnosed by my GP a week after the incident, I might have ended up in psychiatric care.
cool rock collection
So sorry you had to deal with that too. I was writhing on the floor of my school clinic in more pain than I’d ever been in before. I had been losing weight because I couldn’t eat. I told them it was my gallbladder and I wanted to know if zofran would help me be able to eat. Clinic marked it down as anxiety, left me on the floor. (same clinic that wouldn’t give me a doctor’s note for choir when I had pneumonia, so I ended up pushing myself too hard and getting it again)
I only had school insurance so I thought I was done for.
