Man my goal is to sing just like you, I started with the kargyraa but man khömei is hard for me. I am planning to visit mongolia to learn throat singing.
Thanks so much, really appreciate that! Thanks so much for the compliments. Mean a lot to me! There's so much to find on youtube, just spend some evenings searching for Kargyraa on TH-cam and listen to the true Tuvan and Mongolian masters. And maybe some crazy foreigners here and there ;-) that should give you inspiration to learn!!
Can you do a kargyraa tutorial please? I need to know how to do really good kargyraa. Not sure if I have the right technique cause I can only do it in the morning or if I'm completely relaxed or something. Also when I can do it I can't sing with much power or volume, been practicing for about a year.
Off all throat singing techniques, kargyraa is the most difficult one to teach. Because it's a muscle you never used, or hardly use in daily life. It's really a personal discovery finding the right part of your throat that's being used in kargyraa (which we call the "false vocal folds"). I've been thinking of creating a tutorial, but not sure how to create it yet... The tips that I can give you is to start slow and relaxed. The first technique that I sing in this video is the most relaxed way of singing kargyraa, hardly takes any effort in the throat. It's completely relaxed muscles, although a very, very slight tension to keep the pressure on the false vocal folds (to keep them vibrating, if too lose, they will stop vibrating). Send me a message on Facebook and i'll be happy to just send a random selfie video to show you a basic practice sound you can try.
@@rowanhartsuiker I mean I can do the kargyraa pretty much how you do it, as it sounds. But I can't do it consistently, and I have been doing this for about a year. I don't know how be able to sing kargyraa consistently, whenever I want to. And I don't know how to practice that. Also I don't have Facebook, and I don't to have it. Sorry. Do you have discord or something?
my buddies and I have created throat singing discord server in which weve written some lessons and are providing coaching if you're interested. You can add my discord Zachungo#1335
apart from kongar ol, i haven't seen someone noticeably do 3 tones simultaneously. you SHOULD consider selling classes. i would buy them if they were reasonable.
I am trying to teach myself this technique and really find your video helpful. I sing opera usually, but also love my jawharp.... therefore I am determined lol
I'd really appreciate a Tovshuur tutorial in English if that'd be possible. I know how to play guitar, bass and banjo so I know string instruments pretty well, I'd just like to know specific tips for Tovshuur.
How do you do the first and second ? do you use your nose for the second one? Because it sound very nasal when I tried I had a almost a similar noise when I put my nose in it
Excuse me: do you know a few good songs (or should I say *tunes*?) in the first style of Kargyraa? I am looking for songs with "constant" very low tones... Thank you. And well done! I like this one a lot!
Good question. Actually the "constant" lower tones is very common in Tuvan songs and melodies. Let me think of something that you might like - unless you are already familiar with Tuvan songs and melodies?
I keep bouncing back here for your immense deep Kargyraa. Reminds me of the Gyoto Monks "Yamantaka Puja" (full 42+min version on my channel, should you want to check it out. Not much else of interest there though ... XD ;) )

@@gaffayu4395 It sounds like that, but it is actually kargyraa and borbangnadyr merged together. If you wish to find out more, feel free to join this server I am a part of and they will help you on your khoomei journey! discord.gg/5Fh7zpPskW
It's also one of my favorites! The trick here is to use your nasal cavity. So the "drone" sound is coming mostly from your nose, and have your soft palate/velum half open. The overtones will be very strong in your oral cavity when you change the shape of your mouth/lips
This is one of the rarest styles out there, known as khoor kargyraa. It is so ancient that nobody can offer any translations, I heard about this through a rumour that Alex Glenfield made up in his own head. Hope this helps!!!
