I’ve got a bunch of Levi 501’s from the early 80’s. I’ve got like 12 pairs in perfect shape. I sometimes wear them whenever we go out. I tell a huge difference in quality compared to todays light weight 501’s

Keep the distressed 550’s they look really cool
I hate how I look in 550s and 560s but I dig how comfortable the are in the crotch area and usually are so well done. My favorites are 684s and my 90s flares a lot silver tab, style wise I feel so fire and nice looking but could have been more roomy. Nice collection man 👖❗🤞🙂
I love seeing vintage jeans collections and you have a great one! I especially like seeing people who prefer a bootcut fit. 517s are my favorites, but unfortunately they don't work for my body. Three comments. The "white" label on the women's jeans is probably a silver tab, and if that's the case means they are from the 90s or later. The 10M size indicates that it is a 10 medium (regular) length, as apposed to 10s(short) or 10L (long). About the made in USA distinction... just because a pair wasn't made in America doesn't mean it isn't vintage. However, if a tag says that it is made in USA, then you can be confident that it is a vintage prior to the closing of the last American factory, so that's cool. Some food for thought; "vintage" is a vague description term that becomes specific by adding the year/era/decade. Since there is a lot variety within the Levi's brand over time saying "vintage70's" "vintage 80s", or "vintage 90s" jeans says a lot more than just saying "vintage jeans".

Your grandpa's pair look the best. I guess because they're longer, they don't bunch up behind your knees. A lot of guys seem to like that bunched up look, but I personally think it looks bad. Having some baginess behind the knees looks better imo. Gives off more of a workwear vibe. You might want to cuff them an inch or two to get rid of that creasing around the bottoms though. Unless you like that stacked look, then leave them as they are.

I’m a little confused I see a lot of red tags, not hating they are dope pants but vintage shops around me won’t buy red tag due to them being "modern".
I feel like it's something to be more educated on especially for a vintage shop not to buy Levi's if they aren't an orange tab or another variant of that isn't a calculated move because there's plenty of denim offered by Levi's that is a red tab that is either older or even more valuable than an orange tab
@@KyronWarrick for sure, I buy whatever fits best I could careless about tabs. As someone who resales I get a lot criticism for buying anything red tab denim though and it kinda sucks that people care more about tabs that the actual fit itself.
