  • A visit to Fleming Park in Augusta Georgia showing Hurricane Helene debris collection and chipping of the debris. We get to see a chipper take an entire tree and chip it up. There is quite a bit of debris stored here and a couple of weeks ago the Park was almost empty. Note the large piles of log stacked waiting for the chippers to clean up. Pretty amazing. They truly have been moving debris back into the park.

I'm a bit confused, you said this was almost empty, now filled up again: Did the debris come from areas with downed trees, or from other parks where they'd already dumped the material? Doesn't seem to make sense to shuffle it from park to park.

This is NEW stuff, coming from neighborhood debris, not from other debris sites.

Eisenhower Park is being decommissioned so the debris had to go somewhere and it ended up here and at Lake Olmstead Stadium.
