    Both players are absolutely amazing. Elias present an interesting style with a combination of power and magic touches.

    If you guys watched the first 2 sets. You would understand why Elias was annoyed with Farag. Farag kept blocking Elias but despite that Elias kept trying to play through the interference. It's really a pity to see how Farag game has changed into trying to block opponents to win.

      I catch myself doing that occasionally and I think it doesn't happen on purpose, but there was time to move around in many of these instances. EDIT: Now I'm at the end of the video, yeh Farag was almost purposefully blocking in deuce.

      It didn't appear to be on purpose to me. I think it was a combination of being tired and trying to efficient (not wanting to make more effort to clear than necessary). I do think he was blocking, however, and the ref could have quickly fixed it by giving a stroke, and that would have improved the clearing.

      Sean Moo If the player is not clearing, imo it's the responsibility of the ref to take action. Gaultier is a good example. Actually there are tons of examples. Few players will make more effort to clear than required.

    @25:42 "Racket got caught?!?" Farag stepped on his foot.

      Farag did indeed step on his foot, but Farag was still the striker at that point (i.e. he remains as the striker until his ball hits the front wall) -- Elias was crowding him and thus 'created his own interference' -- I would not have given Elias the let here

    • @damandarin5415
      @damandarin5415 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@petereedy6092 I agree that if it was just the crowding it shouldn't have been a let. However, Ali Farag still doesn't have the right to step (or just place his foot) down on Elias.
      Elias was on the T as well so it should definitely be a Let

    • @chironares
      @chironares 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@petereedy6092 That's a very interesting point. I wish the commentators could explain it that clearly. Instead, they didn't even see the fact that Farag stepped on Elias's foot.

    I think there is a problem with the consistency of judgment. I think if the first decision is NORET, I think the second decision is not STROKE. Because Ali Farag's arm length is very long

    Why isn't a stroke given @3:42?

    • @phinbillington1342
      @phinbillington1342 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Normally a stroke should be given there however Farag immediately signaled asking for a let to be given instead. Probably did this to be sportsmanlike especially after hitting Elias with his shot

    Bufff, Farag plays sooo well, to beat him you have to play soo accurately for el long without making mistakes and holding phisically, on the 5th Game Elías just couldnt cope with the phisicallity, such a big task yo beat Farag...

      It's part of the game, it's both player's job to get out of the way, and get past their opponent... in theory!

    Why do they feel need to give these stupid nicknames. Fair enough if they evolve naturally, but it;s like it's compulsory or something these days.
