I completely understand your situation I have so many dilemmas in my doll collection as well : I tried and sold way too many dolls for my own good 😅 but it was great to experience all this and it helped a lot to understand what I like and what I want today so I guess it’s part of the process, the most important is to keep dolls that mean a lot to us and keep enjoying our collection 🤗
Yes, all of my Marina boy dolls are my special ones. They're the ones I can't seem to let go and I'm good with that. I too have bought and sold a lot of other types of dolls since I began seriously collecting in 2014. I know where I want my collection going and Blythe just might not be in it for much longer. I haven't completely decided yet...I definitely have to wait to see my newest one.💜🌟
Gosh if I can't relate to this! While I've never paid anything close to the prices you mentioned I can understand wanting to change your entire collection. I hope you are able to find good homes for the dolls you are parting with and that you love your new Blythe 💕
You just need to listen to your heart. When it’s time, it’s time. I’m sorry you’re struggling but you’ll find your way. I’m sure your living situation is probably adding to this, so sorry it’s taking so long. My goodness 😟😟 Ramble away if it helps… can’t wait to see your new girl.
I understand doll collecting is very fluid. I also understand moving is very hard. We moved twice in the last five years. I did a major downsize in the first of the moves. My only thought is try using Inga as your only Blythe for a month. Treat her the way you plan to your new Blythe. I say this because I wish I had not acted so impulsively and my dolls are happier in pairs.😂 Of course, whatever you do will be ok and 2024 is a new year! All the best!!
Wow! Yes, that's basically what we did too. We moved from NC to SC in October 2017, then from SC to NY in April 2023...so twice in 5 years. The first time we moved I didn't have nearly as many dolls as I do now so that wasn't as troublesome as my situation now. I'll try to think about keeping Inga but I can't say for sure...💜🌟
Evolution of collecting! I started with Vintage Crissy & Velvet. Branched into Ellowyne Wilde, then all sorts. I've sold all my vintage Crissy & Velvet except a couple of faves. I'm in the midst of selling my Ellos. That's a slow process not having much time to do so. Recently gone crazy for Blythe 🍄... I have some play line too that I love 🤷🏻♀😂... Thanks to Allison, a couple art BJD's, but they are not where my collection is at either. At the moment I'm wanting to keep the ones I have but I don't plan on any more of those. The Aussie dollar is so weak against the US & Euro at the moment. I agree on the prices of Custom Blythes. You can get amazing dolls for much less than some of those priced super high. Tastes change, and that's normal evolution ❤
Yes...I'm glad you get it. I need some new items in my collection and I don't know if I need a break from Blythe all together or if I need a temporary space from them. Either way, I am excited about my new girl (and only girl😆) but I do hope that she will be my last for a while so I can focus on other things...🌟
Sorry I can't help you with your Blythes. I am not a Blythe collector although I think the dolls are really cute. I can understand a crisis, and it is good to voice it. I am pretty sure not being able to display your collection is not helping. I know when I had to pack away my dolls, it was hard. I missed them, and it seemed wrong to get more since I couldn't display them. Good luck with your building. Hopefully, you will get your doll room sooner then you think.
I think you're right about not being able to display them...I do miss that. I have a small shelf that I kept my Blythes on (they're packed away now, out of sight out of mind) but yeah, idk. I guess we shall see how it goes! 💜🌟

Yes.. sometimes, we need a break from dolls too... I'm feeling that for sure...🌟

I appreciate that... sometimes I wonder if I should just stop buying dolls for a while...but the temptation is always there...🌟

Красивые ❤🥰🌺
Thank you!💜🌟
I love the one with the teeth how much? ♥️♥️♥️
I think you messaged me on Instagram?🌟
I am completely with you on prices. I won't pay over $1000.00 and usually pay no more than $600.00. (Sophieandherpals)
Oh hi! I follow you on Instagram! I agree with those prices...I can't handle anything over $509 apparently lol 😆
