The way I see it, even if it is written like the XXL cyphers, they aren't staring at a phone reading it off or just rapping a song that they've performed before.
It's usually just written unreleased music. But still considered a freestyle because it is still in the head
Freestyle doesn't really mean off the top anymore. It's more like a verse that doesn't have a specific structure, or a specific topic. Just flow and bars. Off the top still the shit tho
