    Nick has taught me, through his videos, not to take some knives apart.

    I like how you took the time to find a pry bar to match the liners. Thanks

      That wasn't a pry bar. That was piece of the liner/back spacer from the 1st one he tried to get apart and shattered. LOL
      Obv I am JK!!

    The one thing I learned from this video? Unless mine gets hopelessly filled with fish scales...I'm never taking it apart.

    • @thefishrustler3893
      @thefishrustler3893 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      EDC elephant Mine gets full of fish scales all the time and a garden hose brings it back to factory condition. Once or twice a year I’ll get some small scales caught in the pivot of my salt folders. I never disassemble, just loosen the pivot to create a little space and blow it out with a water.

    Nick, we've all bought a lot of knives on the secondary market with screws swimming in loctite. I beg of you, try teflon tape on larger pivots. For the good of the community.

    I am already done with this knife just from watching the disassembly xD

    Nice prevail! I suppose between the design and LC200N, Spyderco intended this to just be soaped, rinsed, and externally lubed. But if weren’t for your video, I would have had learned not to disassemble the hard way. Thanks my friend!

    Get matching punch pins so that you can tap out the pivot and screws rather than prying and damaging parts would make it a lot easier

  • @DavePotokar
    @DavePotokar 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is a nice lookin Spyderco...nice blade geometry! would love to see it with a compression version but that would likely require steel liners right? That said, refreshing to see one of their line that is also thin height-wise when closed versus a huge hump.

      They could use Titanium liners (i think they did that with the Caribbean?!) Or they could also make the Liners out of LC200N
      Edit: the liners on the Caribbean are in LC200N not titanium!

    Is it possible to center the blade actually?

    Love my Siren, although my pivot screw somehow came out in my pocket, and luckily was found ( after SpyderCo sent me a replacement free of charge).No sign of factory loctite at all, which we all know they use blue. A bit disappointing. I’ve never had this issue from SpyderCo before.

    Nick, looked like a new knife that needed no maintenance. Be great to see some real maintenance please.

    • @mrsw916
      @mrsw916 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mega - no way to know just how much maintenance is needed until disassembled. Plus at a certain point it is a guide for anyone who owns this specific knife and wants to take it down

    • @ronniestarkey8611
      @ronniestarkey8611 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be great, I agree but I highly doubt he has any knives that have been worked to the bone, his hands look soft as a baby's ass.. No offense to nick, I love the videos!

    After watching this video, I'm disassembly my siren and only took around 3 minutes, and 1 minutes to assembly...
    If you know the trick it's so easy to maintenance

    Would've been nice to see a steel insert for the washers to slip on rather than the G10. Probably not a big deal with a back lock, but still.

    • @JohnC29
      @JohnC29 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pivot pinches the washers against the G10.

    Not sure what everyone is so scared about. This is pretty typical. I wouldn’t want my knife to just fall apart one the screws were out.

    At this point, i won't disassemble my siren. Ugly is disassemble. And fact that you never comment.

      You must have shit in your eyes mate, this is one of the best looking spydie blades out there, im guessing you like that ugly as hell hump or ugly leaf shape blade most spydies have.
