I had such a similar experience with booktube ^_^ it was beauty and fashion videos that got me into youtube but then I discovered a couple of booktubers a couple of years ago and everything spiralled. It feels like more of a conversation.

I just started Booktube today and I am so happy that I am joining! Booktube feels so different from the gaming side of TH-cam which is a lot bigger, I feel like our community is so friendly and fun and everybody has their own little things to bring along. I have been watching booktube for a while but I started making booktube-focused videos last July. I am still a super small channel though. However, that hasn't stopeed me from also feeling like the community is great and when I watch wonderful new-to-me booktubers or even super popular big name booktubers, just thinking we could be great friends. It has been such a rewarding experience meeting new people through it and getting to gush about books together! I am glad you are having a great time!

I completely agree with you in that a large majority of booktube surronds YA Fiction, which has both promted me to explore new content, as well as seek vloggers that share common interests that I do. It's been fun exploring different channels that have a wide variety in the spectrum of Booktube!
I also found out about Booktube through Sanne, it's such a great community and I love it. Compared to other types of youtube videos, I feel like its more expected for viewers to interact more

I just discovered your chanel and I really like that you are more into adult fiction because I tend to read a lot of YA books and read so many of them in the last half year. Recently, I only found book tubers who review mainly YA books and I just wanted a change and read more adult fiction. And I also came across booktube through a collab between Estée and Sanne!

That's how I got into watching videos about books. I saw Sanne on Essie Button's channel and went from there. I like your videos and the books you choose to read. I watch so many videos on young adult books, and I love those kinds of books, but sometimes I want to mix it up. I'm going to look into reading We Are Completely Beside Ourselves soon. I'll add it to my long list of books I want to read.

I like it when people bring something new to the table, which includes a wide range of selections that are not necessarily very similar YA literature selections. I had the EXACT same experience - it was beauty and fashion (as well as Nerdfighteria ;) ) for me, until I watched Sanne's and Estée's collaboration! And then...there was a whole new world waiting to be discovered... You have quickly become one of my favourite booktubers - however new you may be. I find that you express yourself really well, and that you always have something new to add. I would love to see more recommendations as well! Now, this may seem odd, but you have a very "wide range of vocabulary", to put it in the words of a teacher. As a non-native speaker, I'm always glad to see people who actually try to speak with a variety of different words, instead of going for the same one over and over again. Watching your videos feels therefore like a positive impact on my English :)) (and I don't have to feel bad for procrastinating with them... ;) ) Love from Switzerland

You're not a newbie anymore. While I'm not a TH-cam newbie (been posting videos for a few years, though infrequently) and I don't have a following yet, I have not done any booktubing. But that's changing. One thing I find interesting is that booktubers are overwhelmingly female. It seems like I'll be one of the few guys doing it. And I think I'm a lot older than most. But I don't care. I do travel videos and have started doing writing videos. I'm going to be doing English lesson videos, too (I was an English teacher in Japan for 11 years). I guess I have variety. Anyway, I subscribed!

I feel the same way about YA books as you... while I've picked up a bunch thanks to booktube recommendations, I still tend to lean more towards adult fiction, especially since a lot of the time I read a YA book, I'm usually disappointed.
I think this is interesting because I was telling I friend that if I read a YA book and it was meh or I didn't like it, I only wasted a few days on it but because it takes me so much longer to read Adult books and my expectations are different I find myself much more easily disappointed in them. It is definitely nice to have a few more people well read in adult genres on Booktube though.
BookChats True, but those are a few days I could be putting towards something more substantial. I'm not dissing YA, I actually really enjoy a lot of it, but I have a harder time weeding out the good ones from the bad ones than I do with adult fiction. You're right, though, most adult fiction books do tend to take quite a bit longer to read, which equals higher levels of disappointment.

You're not a newbie anymore. While I'm not a TH-cam newbie (been posting videos for a few years, though infrequently) and I don't have a following yet, I have not done any booktubing. But that's changing. One thing I find interesting is that booktubers are overwhelmingly female. It seems like I'll be one of the few guys doing it. And I think I'm a lot older than most. But I don't care. I do travel videos and have started doing writing videos. I'm going to be doing English lesson videos, too (I was an English teacher in Japan for 11 years). I guess I have variety. Anyway, I subscribed!

I feel the same way about YA books as you... while I've picked up a bunch thanks to booktube recommendations, I still tend to lean more towards adult fiction, especially since a lot of the time I read a YA book, I'm usually disappointed.
I think this is interesting because I was telling I friend that if I read a YA book and it was meh or I didn't like it, I only wasted a few days on it but because it takes me so much longer to read Adult books and my expectations are different I find myself much more easily disappointed in them. It is definitely nice to have a few more people well read in adult genres on Booktube though.
BookChats True, but those are a few days I could be putting towards something more substantial. I'm not dissing YA, I actually really enjoy a lot of it, but I have a harder time weeding out the good ones from the bad ones than I do with adult fiction. You're right, though, most adult fiction books do tend to take quite a bit longer to read, which equals higher levels of disappointment.
so i recently just started my own Book channel, what could help me like improve my videos or like make me gain confidence. and like any tips on how i can grow. and your video is great, i like tags and this one is one of my favourite ones!
