I really hope we keep hold of Nico Jackson! Yes, he has had some awful misses here and there. However ending up with 14 non penalty PL goals his first season ain't bad. He seems likes he generally likes it at Chelsea and wants to do well and tries his best. He has got great potential, if only he can improve a bit on his finishing on those clear cut chances i think we got a great striker on our hands. Not to mention he can work well on the wing as well. At the least if he keeps at this level and don't improve he is still a good squad option.
We’ve all seen how Jackson has improved, stays uninjured and has had better first season figures than Drogba. Drogba he ain’t but he is a valuable asset we should be keeping.
If Sancho is willing to go down in wages and he is serious and plays like he was playing in the CL for Dortmund and he cuts out playing Fifa until 7 Am then hell yeah we need him at Chelsea. Im a big fan of Olise but even i will admit that Sancho at his best is even better than Olise
Id rather keep the squad we have, the board being open to sell players on the verge of a break out season is worrying. Jackson NKunku Palmer Carney Enzo Caicedo Gusto James Tosin Fofana New GK Madueke Lavia Mudryk Colwill Chalobah Cucurella Petrovic Santos Kellyman Guiu
Honestly I'd rather Chelsea keep the squad as is. If signing KDH or Isak means losing Jackson or Chukwuemeka. Especially when Sterling & Mudryk are probably staying, which is frustrating in it self.
Others are trying to destabilize Jackson and harm Chelsea. He’s valued by the club, which is CFC went out and grab an unknown to be the main striker for a top club. CFC turned him into a world recognized player and the club feels that Enzo M can make him more prolific.
How do build a long term team spirit if you constantly buy and sell players. At some point the players will just take their wages, and not give the commitment.
I would take Sancho immediately. With Ten Hag still at United I can't imagine him being too expensive and as he likely wants to leave that place himself I can really see him agree to our wage demands. If they are asking for less than 40mil then we should just agree to the deal and take the risk. There is still a serious player in there that could make that sum of money look cheap. Jackson to Newcastle on the other hand would be a mistake. We can only loose in that transfer. Also there has been way too much talk about Jackson being the clear No.1 at Chelsea.
I really like Nico. I don't want him going anywhere. I seriously think he could be one of the best attacking players in the league some day. At the very least I wouldn't want to see him playing against us in the Prem.
40mil for Archy? Heck Kellyman looks like a barging for the 19mil we are going to pay Villa.🤣 Its crazy how clubs chasing talents in the hopes to find the next "big thing". In terms of a striker i agree. We "need" someone on Jacksons level. They should push each other. A little different in profil. More like a typical "box striker". So we have different options. But Jackson had some realy good development during last season. He was told to stop acting stupid and getting booked every game. He did it. His hold and link up game got much better. He started to score even headers. His converation rates needs to improve. But thats more related to experience and coaching. I do believe Nico will be a +20 goals in a league season attacker within 2yrs. 30 goals in all comps wouldnt surprise me TBH. I truely believe that Cole Palmer, Paéz and Nico will be deemed as the best signings in the last 10 to 20yrs for Chelsea. Im not so sure about Estevao. Usualy those fragile brazilians are one or two injuries away from desaster. Like what happend to Neymar.😞
Don't know if Maresca was at City when Sancho threw his toys out the pram because Pep didn't want to play him and move on. His personality isn't great and his wages will be too much so a big for for me
I'm becoming concerned with the policy at the club. Initially I thought this is great, we're getting out there and getting the next Caicedo's and Enzo's for 15m. Paez and Estavo look great, but do you really see them both playing in the team at the same time. I look at Kellyman and think that's Carney gone and then and in 2 years time it'll be Kellyman that will be moved on as another 18 year old is signed. There's no way we have any intention of putting them all in the squad. This model will carry on every year as yopu can't say that's it, we've got all the wonderkids we want as who knows what's coming through in 2 years time. I thought we'd make 3 or 4 signings, but this is going to be far more than that. There is a coldness to this that I don't like. I can't see academy players being taken at 15 and 16 as they will see there is no pathway. I suppose we have previous in this regard as Roman used the academy to make money.
When Jackson's missing wide open nets again next season, and we slide down the standings, I'm going to quote you on this. There's negativity, positivity, but there's also realism. I wish you'd be more drawn towards realism mate - We keep downgrading everything, and you seem to keep on celebrating. (Tuchel > Poch > Lampard = Maresca > Potter), (Silva > Chalobah > Tosin), (Osimhen > Alverez > Isak > Jackson > Duran > 18 yo kids), (Gallagher > Chukwuemeka > Dewsbury-Hall) - you seeing a pattern here, Jan?
Sancho? No thanks. And selling Nico Jackson? For Isak? No thanks, again. The degree of squad turnover is a primary reason why it's so hard to achieve any sort of chemistry and cohesion.
