Wish I'd known about this version a few weeks ago before i ordered the standard version , tho Im yet to try them yet I feel what I really needed was the LDM version
I agree with similar comments, I bought the original ones, and they do not grip my multiplier rods at all, in fact they were worse than my normal heads, rods just spun around. I feel there should've been more advice on the original ones, perhaps stating that they were more suited to a fix spool set up.
Veals need to own up a bit here, great company been ordering from them since the mid nineties,,, so just hold your hands up on this one and apologise for mis information on the original grippas as they weren't fit for purpose unless fishing with a 40mm plus rod
Exactly what myself and my mate were saying.. we got a reply saying: The original grippa were designed and sold as a rod security product" amongst other things.. sorry! The reply was very much like a politician, accepting no oversight or fault.. the clue is in the name, and was slightly underwhelmed when they didn't 'grip' as I always fish guides up. Saying that, I'm not trying to put anyone down or slag anything off as I do really like the spooligan products, but I also like it when people own their mistakes.. you'll get more respect from me and more likely most people.
@@matt76ist The LD grippa dimensions are a lot smaller than the original grippa, by that I mean they are a lot smaller in size than the originals. Quite disappointed that they could not mould them the same size as originals with a reduced diameter, its all about cost and using more moulding material. I have returned the LD grippers for a refund but that said I do like the original grippa.
@@seafishing-jonesygonefishi9532 I now have the LD version and they are spot on for my requirements, just a little peeved that we were fobbed off with excuses.. that's annoyed me more than having to buy them twice. Anyway, all sorted now and I'm really happy with the LD version.
wish you would have brought out both versions together. then i wouldn't have ordered the original ones... can i return them and get the new version ???
Agree with everyone else. Should have been released at the same time, ordered the original and doesnt do anything grip wise and now id need to order the ld version. No thanks. Same applies to the captcha, have to buy the leg attachment to go with it and yet you can adjust the angle as ita dictated by the angle of the legs, could really have done with being on a stiff ball joint.
OK, I had my rant about the original gripper, I've bit the bullet and bought the LDM version, and fairplay they are fantastic, holds your multiplier rods perfectly solid in position 👌 Spooligan would you consider making these iluminous? As I like Ian Golds set in iluminous, great for fishing at night. Rich
Judging by the comments I’m not the only one a bit peeved with spooligan! I was all for this product after purchasing all your other bits but the mk1 version I have are no better at gripping the rod than the goldsy ones I removed, then to describe the mk2’s as a multiplier or low dia version is a bit poor considering most probably bought the originals hoping they’d do exactly what the mk2 does 👎🏻
I think it would be an idea for VMO to offer an exchange for those that brought the original version or at the very least a discount on the new LDM's as a gesture of good will , it doesn't look like I'm alone in feeling a little misinformed readying the comments left on this video

What also might be handy would be a guide to what rod diameter range is for each gripper?

Yup totally agreed, I did leave feedback saying that they were unfit for purpose and needed modification but no response
Same here I brought the original ones now going order the new ones

Probably a big queue in front of you
Happy days, glad that I waited.
That's what I was hoping for when I bought the original ones 🤦

Getting there! Now a slight redesign and it fits sand spikes.. worth doing especially if you expect to expand into mainland Europe

I put a Gymbal in my butt cups for my multipliers
The standard version works really well. You just need to introduce a luminous version, please!
