    NOTE OF CORRECTION: Regarding Albufera Lake, I was meant to say "largest lake in Spain" but I said in Europe 😅

      El Palmar is part of the city of Valencia, that is more than 20 Km long.

    Love seeing your videos. Apart from your lovely accent the places and food you eat and see are lovely. Those sardines on that bread looked more like anchovies, lol.

      Thank you Liz! You are right they look like anchovies, although "Sardinhas ahumada" in Spain do have that brown colour; they certainly sold them to me as smoked sardines but I'm not sure if it was a scam 🤣

    Hey Dan!
    I just found your channel, and watched several videos in a row, since I believe you´re making far better content about food in Spain than the average vlogger. 👍
    So, knowing you´re Italian, I´d highly recommend you try FIDEUÁ, which is basically a seafood paella that instead of using rice uses slightly thick noodles. As a Spaniard, I find it way much flavorful and digestive than traditional paella.
    Best!

    • @DanFandelli
      @DanFandelli  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you very much for your comment! Fideua was actually on my list of things to try, but unfortunately I couldn’t fit on my schedule. I’ll be sure to try it next time I’m in Spain!

      @@DanFandelli No worries mate!
      There´s some talk about which one is better, Italian or Spanish cuisine. I do believe you´re far superior regarding pasta, pizza, ice cream and coffee, but overall, I believe Spain´s extraordinary culinary variety, region by region (and including tapas culture), makes it the superior gastronomic destination.
      So if it´s not an overly compromised question, I´d love to know your HONEST opinion, as an educated Italian, about which one do you think is actually better.
      Cheers!

      @@1650million Mmm in my book it does not make much sense to pick a cuisine that's better, firstly because I love them all! I can express my personal taste on specific dishes, but you'll never hear me saying this cuisine is better than that, because it's just too generic and oversimplifying stuff, and also my experience is very limited to what I have the opportunity to try during my travels, which is usually a very small sample size 😁

    • @1650million
      @1650million หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DanFandelli Fair enough.
      But there´s a zillion lists out there giving an "objective" list of the best gastronomies in the world, and the most reputable lists, always put Italy and Spain in the top choices, depending on the list.
      As such, it doesn´t make any sense that you say no cuisine is better than others. Do you really enjoy British and German "cuisine" as much as Italian and Spanish cuisine?? Because you might be the first one on Earth... Should we consider South Sudan too? :D
      Anyway, I understand it´s a compromising question for you, so no worries, I just was interested in your subjective opinion.
      Best!

    • @DanFandelli
      @DanFandelli  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh it's not compromising at all, I do have my own taste and preferences, and yeah, I do prefer Italian/Spanish cuisine to, say, German cuisine, just like I prefer any Asian cuisine over any European cuisine. But I try to avoid blank statements like "A is better than B" as I'm not a food expert, I'm just a guy who loves to travel and try stuffs out there. If we are talking Italy vs Spain that's even more difficult, because they are both exceptional (reason why I don't trust strict rankings when it comes to the top cuisines around the world - for me they are all up there together in their own league)

    It's actually not the biggest lake at all. It's not even on the list over Europes 40 biggest lakes. Spain do have Europes biggest salt lake/lagoon, Mar Menor. A tip, try google earth, and put it right over this lake, the zoom out till you don't see it anymore, and then move the map to Russia, Finland and Sweden, then you going to see big lakes, the biggest is suppose to be in Russia at the border to Finland, lake Ladoga.

    • @DanFandelli
      @DanFandelli  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh, I am not sure how I got that wrong, I was meant to say "largest lake in Spain" but I said in Europe, ouch. However reading your comment about Mar Menor, now I'm even more confused 🤣 here is where I found out about Albufera being the largest lake: euroace.net/2018/09/04/albufera-spains-largest-lake-and-the-origin-of-paella/
      Mar Menor does look bigger, however it is a continuum with the mediterranean sea, rather than being completely enclosed like Albufera is. Maybe that's an explanation, I don't know, but thanks for pointing that out, I'll write a comment to correct the info!

    • @MrHoodlum73
      @MrHoodlum73 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DanFandelli Hi again, Mar Minor is just the biggest salt lake, not sweet water lake, its a difference. And yes it's a lagoon, that they describe as a lake. I do enjoy your videos by the way.
