      Oh, Karen, now I will not be able to see it any other way!! That is so crazy that it didn't come to me until you mentioned it!

    Personally, I would have left the sides and bail unfinished. The matte look contrasts with the resin. Also, all of these finishes will change over time, including the polyurethane. I have pendants that I did 20 years ago that look pretty bad now. Finish is dull and gummy. Better to avoid all finishes and simply sand and buff. The resin will yellow eventually, too.

      Oh no, I hope that the resin I use withstand the time, but probably not. I have not had resin pieces long enough to tell the difference. You are right about leaving the sides unfinished. The matte definitly would have been a nice contrast.
