  • Acrylic plastic can be incredibly beautiful, especially when the edges are properly prepared. Edge treatments like these can actually be done in most home workshops. This video will show you how. All the products seen in this video are available at tapplastics.com. To order acrylic sheets, go to www.tapplastics.com/product/pl...

@tapplastics Actually I changed my mind and will be making the guitar out of plexiglass so that it will be more clear. So I will ask a different question, is there any way I could join two pieces of polished plexiglass together?

@ROBOCOP603 By 'lexan glass', are you referring to polycarbonate? If so, glue joints are clear, but not invisible. If you are laminating two large pieces, then the problem will be bubbles. Best thing to do is practice on some pieces first.

Was impressed by the simple presentation of your work.I like it I have a small project witch l need it on opaque poly carbonate plastic sheet +/- .097 x 3.5 x 11 so no laser beam like one from a scanner should not read through. I have a model made on card board made to specs with couple of small label size windows to cut in.I would prefer to have the estimate before I submit the project to you on cardboard with specs. I may need a small handle either screwed or laminated to the small board

So, if I were to glue two pieces of lexan glass together, the non-polished / non-clear line would be visible??? If so please tell me if there would be another way cus I'm making a lexan glass Flying-V guitar that is supposed to be all clear, I was planning on putting together two halves of the guitar (front / back half). How would I go about creating a clean smooth finish for the two halves where they were joined???

That is correct. However, be careful not to round over the edge. That will greatly weaken the glue joint.

Yes, we do sell thick plastic, cut to your dimensions. Go to the TAP Plastics website, click on 'Cut-to-Size', and then select the plastic you desire. You can put the dimensions in and the exact price will be calculated for you.
