Marnus did al3 my D4D's and man its machines. My Fortuner was done by someone way back and it was a joke. Did it with HM and it was a game changer. He was busy for 2 days with my L45 recently because it did make any power. Got the problem and man its a beast now. The mapping also sorts out the auto box shifting and makes it alot better. Cruise control is a breeze now with the auto. They do it right
I watched Ed's video and went to the same guys in Edenvale. I tried 2 other tuners and long-story-short it was a waste of money. I took my 2018 new shape prado 3.0 d4d All I can say is Marnus is a very professional guy. Explains virtually everything and how he is going to help you. They have one of the latest 4x4 dynos and they properly do a before and after tune reading. Explain what you want to.Marnus and he will help you. A I can say is the tune finally worked....I'm getting the REALISTIC fuel economy I wanted. Marnus is going to write a performance file as well and asked me to test it. But honestly I'm over the moon. The professionalism and service is amazing R4.5k well spent
New subscriber from New Zealand, but originally from Zimbabwe and South Africa. We love your videos, they remind us of Africa. I discovered your channel a week ago. Good videos keep it up.
I did a similar tune on my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 3.0L V6 Mercedes Diesel engine. This vehicle is a rare breed but was offered worldwide in the years 2007 and 2008. People who drive gasoline powered vehicles will never understand how brilliant a proper Diesel engine is. Torque makes a huge difference when towing, especially in wear and tear on the transmission. I have seen people pulling similar weight in Toyota 4Runners have multiple downshifts, from 5th to 3rd gear while my Jeep maintains speed in 5th gear. Less noise, less wear and tear on the transmission. Also engine braking means less brake wear. Diesels rock!
Hi Ed, are you still happy with the mapping of the vehicle and exhaust upgrade. Any side effect’s in the long run especially on the reliability and warranty from Toyota.
Hi Ed, very interesting, as always. I know it’s late and I’m tired, but I can’t see link too service providers, could you pls repost in reply? Thanks, Gavin
Great that you could get it back the original power considering all the weight we add to these vehicles (and better consumption is even better). Cool vid mate!
Hi Ed l have a diesel 6 troopy definitely need more power when overtaking is a uni chip worth while or what would you suggest. Thanks love your travels gary port Elizabeth
Hey mate! I wouldn’t suggest a chip purely from what I’ve heard and mates that have had major issues when fitting them. Rather look at an ECU Remap or good old fashioned mechanical tuning
Hi Ed, We are going to Botselano, never heard of the place, but after watching you we have decided to visit there this week. I know some of the roads are horrendous, From Pretoria which route do you take??
Very interesting video Ed. Do you know the cost of such an upgrade? (Also considering the exhaust upgrade). You did it the right way with the Exhaust first. Getting rid of the heat enables you to do the tune.

Feel saving with my stock lock torque converter made the biggest difference. Did all Ed did (Viper and Tune) but torque converter still biggest fuel savings. Doing 120km/hr on gps (not car speedometer) trip over full tank range gives average 12L/100km on car gauge. Actual slightly higher when calculating maybe 13.2L/100km.

Thanks for all the videos Ed. What about a tune on the 100 series ?
Thanks! Nope I’m leaving it standard🙏
I wonder if this ECU mapping can be done on a petrol/gas LC200 and if it helps anything?
Ed the 200 series is now a beast thanks for sharing
Thanks Shaun!

Hi Desmond! I’ve never come from that side but none of the roads to Botsalano are too bad 🙌
Looking forward to the new build.
Thanks Max!

i love he your v8 😍
Beautiful
A torque converter lock up controller must be next 👍🏻

At some point definitely 🙌🙌
Would be nice to do this with an fj
Would be a beast for sure!
Love from india brother please bring your home vlog
What are the power mods? Nice vid 😁
What is you average fuel consumption after the mapping? When you are not loaded and on a trip to botswana.
Meaning empty an not on any trip... basically daily driving?
15L/100kms
👍 .
🤙👍
Thanks mate!
