That's really odd for a mauser 98 variant to have feed issues like that. If the feed ramp hasn't been messed with I would look at the extractor, follower or follower spring. Sometimes parts can be worn/damaged with older firearms.
@@PearceBrothersGearGuide Thanks, I’ll take another look at all those. This was a Mitchell’s I bought about 22 years ago and have only put about 500 rounds through. I have noticed that the magazine doesn’t sit flush with the receiver. It’s a little proud on both sides.
@@PearceBrothersGearGuide I thought so, was trying to decide between this type of mount and a side rail mount. Both involves drill/tap. Freaks me out to do, but I wish to shot with my father at vintage sniper competition. Good video
I almost bought one of these about a year ago. Still need to get around to it. Awesome video!
You need one! They are pretty fun rifles!
I love the accuracy of my M48 variant, but it struggles to feed FMJ spitzers from the magazine and almost refuses to feed cast bullets.

Working on my czech mauser sporter rifle. Very interesting video.
Thanks!
Thank you for the great videos.
Thank you for watching! We appreciate the support!
Pretty cool old rifle!
Yes it is!
What scope mount is that?
Good video I very much enjoyed that! Cool guy as well
He's pretty average haha
How did you mount the scope. Was there any drilling involved? Also Allerberger's book was excellent.
I mounted it via original scope rings so yes there was some drilling/taping required.

Good info.
Handloads may improve accuracy.
Yes I'm sure I could improve accuracy/ performance with good handloads
