  • In this video, I aim to constructively analyse Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur vs Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. I hope you enjoy this video! Don't forget to smash the like button and subscribe.
The aim of this video is to show instances of Tottenham Hotspurs and Antonio Conte's philosophy and game style. The video highlights examples of Tottenham playing through, around, and over Manchester City in an attempt to create goal-scoring opportunities. Despite having less possession and completed passes Tottenham created many high-quality goal-scoring opportunities and won the match 3-2.
Additionally, Tottenham deployed a 5-2-3 formation. They aimed to effectively create width with the wing backs getting high and wide. It was evident throughout this match that they aimed to switch the ball quickly through a long pass to an opposite wing back in space. This video highlights the positioning of the 5 defenders with and without the ball. Thus, this video can be used as a guide to understand how to maintain possession and create clever goal-scoring opportunities when playing with 5 defenders.
Therefore, coaches may use this video as an educational tool and reflect on how they may design football training sessions that can enable their players to play like Antonio Conte's Tottenham. Subsequently, this video can be used to understand how a 5-3-2 formation can be used to effectively play against a 4-3-3.

I personally don't think 532 backs as good tactic. Because it depends too much on the quality of the 2 forwards. And this tactic makes the team too weak on their sides of the pitch.
So, in this term I value Inter Milan high because they use this tactic so well

It doesnt make them too weak on the sides, because while defending, wing backs are backed up by right and left central defenders, its harder for opposite wingers to penetrate and find gaps between them
