@Ray C her point is she doesn’t give a F that you think that. She doesn’t have to do anything just because you or anyone else thinks she does. She has important things to think about and what others think about her looks ain’t one of them anymore.

I'm 59 and I have gotten over my fear of getting older by being honest about my age. To myself and to others. Meaning, I have never lied about my age or tried to hide it. I have many female friends who have been lying about their age for years. Yet, they are also lying to themselves. When I reached my forties, I found myself purposely telling people how old I was as a way to always make myself face up to it. I have gained self acceptance this way and it really works for me. Whenever I have a birthday, I always announce the age I have just turned. It forces you to get comfortable with the reactions of others, be it male or female. I have never tried to present myself as being younger than I really am. Yes, it is painful when you start approaching 60, when inside, you still feel like a 20 year old. The way you feel about yourself lots of times, does not match the "number". Yet, by announcing the number out loud, you are facing up to it and you get comfortable with it. There are alot of people who look younger than their supposed age and that's great for them. However, there are also lots of people who might possibly look older than what their "number" is. The number starts to become an irrelevant thing once you get used to announcing it to yourself and others. It's how you feel inside that counts. How are you living your life? If you are full of joy and treating people well then you are beautiful and everyone can clearly see it.

I think Justine likes her unique, no-foundation look. Maybe to her, that is graceful.
I have a long list of grievances with my mom, but one thing I appreciate is that she never wasted much time on vanity. Her look is tidy and put together, and though I do wish she was able to teach me things about makeup and grooming etc that I had to learn on my own, I respect that her energies when we were growing up went elsewhere besides on her looks. I respect Justine similarly.

Getting old is just part of life, but our society treats you like you're invisible and not having any value. We live in a plastic world and ageism most definitely exists. Younger generations behave like they invented the wheel and everything before them didn't matter. Getting old sucks and I have gone into a number of depression bouts since I was 40. I will be 53 next week--no botox, plastic surgery, etc. of any kind. Once you start getting things done, when do you stop? Enough with the chemicals and implants. How can this stuff not affect you adversely? Really good seeing Justine!

Love this attitude. Its called reality. She is wise, rooted, grounded and spits total facts. You can look good at any age its all in how you present yourself. I live/work in one of the wealthiest towns in America and the population skews older and let me tell you the ladies with all the work look so much older in the end. The ladies who just took really good care of their skin but let themselves age naturally look much better. Even with some wrinkles they manage to look younger as the facelifts and fillers and eye lifts all end up adding up and you look really waxing, tight and weird not young at all. The natural women still have something 'youthful' about them their spirt, their attitude and the fact you can see they were a total knockout back in the day and still are extremely beautiful and desired by men of all ages. The ones with all the work the men really don't like they freely and openly talk about this. I bartend so I hear and see it all lol.

That's it. That is it. I only date women who take good care of their health and are OVER age 45. Why? Because, hopefully, by age 45 a woman has embraced her age. Period.

I think she aged normal for a regular American with no fame…to be honest. No plastic surgery is why she looks older….you’re comparing her to celebs with plastic surgery. I will say though…she aged pretty much correctly but I do believe being underweight did a little something to her but she’s 57 right? Who do you know (middle class to lower class people answer only) that looks as good as her at 57 that doesn’t have Botox ? Actually so many middle class have Botox now too. I don’t think she’s aged more than most. That’s untrue. Notice she is not wearing makeup whereas perhaps most other women would. I think her hair style is horrible, but that’s only my opinion. I do believe if she had a softer style, she’d be even more beautiful.

She's dying her hair. So, what's the point of this stance? I also disagree with her about the fear being inside yourself before you aged. The fear is because you've aged! But, most important to me is that if someone wants to do something to look younger, DO IT! We work out to keep our bodies in shape. Why not fight gravity? If you want to do it, no one should make you feel that it isn't right to do.

The eyeliner is definitely not helping. She would greatly benefit with a healthy dose of self esteem if she got a good ole makeover and got her fade properly done. She wouldn’t have to treat make up like it’s the enemy exactly either. It’s perfectly ok to age but it’s perfectly ok to age gracefully however that may look. You can be in the middle so that you are excited at what you see when you look in the mirror. Protect your sacred femininity, cherish your skin, don’t smoke past a certain age, and use a skin routine and your aging will be good to you. Either way, it’s a free choice but while on tv I think she should have gotten a lovely make over to her facial area for the media press tour. Would’ve been lovely this one time. The eye liner is quite harsh at her age.

I disagree. I don't have fear at all. It makes me feel good if I look good. I don't spend all of my time thinking about it. For example, I had braces as a kid and hated them. Now I have beautiful, straight teeth and I am so thankful and proud of my smile. I get if you don't care about aging and looking older, that is your right. Don't criticize those of us who love beauty and enjoy products/procedures that make us look our best. Fear plays no part in my narrative. Sorry it does in yours, Justine.

Totally agree! I think the fact that she never talks about how her serious decades long eating disorder caused her premature aging is dishonest and potentially harmful to young women who see her on talk shows. She could be helping people but instead is kind of bashing those who care about their looks - it's maddening and toxic, imho. This is not normal aging - it's premature aging from years of abuse.

But I guess if you’re in Hollywood and you haven’t resorted to any plastic surgeries and such, then it’s a thing. Look, I do think your hair drags your face down though, why not have a softer hairstyle? Thats honestly my only opinion that I think a softer hairstyle instead of one that drags your face to the ground, would immediately take 10 years off you. X❤

Even with life struggles she has accomplished a lot and it seems that she has learned from her past mistakes and is embracing life as is. With that being said, 57 is not OLD!!! I wish we as a society can just get past this nonsense. 😕 Who cares... let let people be who they are. There's nothing wrong with doing procedures or not doing procedures. It's a personal choice to the individual, and people should just keep their opinions to themselves. Neither choice is wrong. Personal I find the people who have the most to say can't afford to do these things. As far as her opinion goes I don't think it's financial choice, but obviously she's fine with aging. Good for her but who cares really lol... I wish we could put this topic to rest. TO EACH THEIR OWN. Let's get past this now. I'm all for procedures even though I can't afford all of them. Done correctly they work magic. 💯

To pretend that looks don't matter is ridiculous. I think she knows that she looks much older than her age because of her unhealthy choices over many years (a serious eating disorder and heavy smoking), and has to rationalize it in order to feel better about herself.
