John It would be nice to see whether the existing 124016/17/19 may benefit from those beefy cvds. Maybe changing the diff cups may make them usable on those cars. It would be a good content for your second channel.

It's already added to the list. But a sneak peak for you. The diff cups and hub cups have to be changed as well as the dog one on the rear and the cvd and front diff cups also need to change. The thicker drive shafts on the 124010 won't fit into the cups. Frustrating as anything but even the cups feel better quality. 😉👌
They do fit the larger cups I’ve changed them myself

Brushed hits differnet so quite. can it do 3s 25c🤔 🤣 fan on esc (its hit or miss). actually quite surprised on this one. reminds me of the 144401 not a speed machine but offroad looks fun. Invesication is needed if they did infact greesed the diffs.🤔have awesome day
Hello mate. Yes for sure a 144001 vibe. I am sure it has grease. 👍🏼👌 I think wltoys has done something to stop us using 3s as they now sell a 3s model. The brushed have never ran 3s though.
The durability is there because it's an MJX. It's not a WL toys everything you see on that car is screaming MJX hyper go. The only thing that is WL toys is the body. So MJX made a nice strong chassis and WL toys made a pretty strong body.😮😮😮.... If I were to get this I would get the brushless version not just because it's faster it's because the motor is brushless and it last longer.😊
Swing arms are wltoys. Electronics are for sure. Tires and bearings. So yes the design of course screams MJX which is said in the video. But there is no working together here. This is typical wltoys stealing designs.
And maybe you are right about the brushless motor. But for everything that goes faster, so does the chance of damaging it much more. I still have the original two 144001s with the same brushed motors installed and they still run nearly 4 years later. 😁👌
And check out Tomley rcs brushless review. Only thing that snapped cleanly in half was the chassis. 🤣😂👌 See going slower does help. 👉😁😁😁

I know brushed motors aren't loved that much but everytine i use them they have a better connection and control than the cheap sensorless brushless motors. Maybe its just the RC's i own though.
Yes I have to agree. All my brushed are solid. There is a time and place for brushed and it doesn't always have to be the fastest possible. This one was nothing but fun! 😉😊👌
Great review, this is definitely more aimed towards the younger audience but it's fine for beginners too, I wonder how many others got one because it looks like a mini Typhon
Hi John, I’m building a speed run wltoys 104001 1/10 buggy I’ve got some spare gears and engine mounts on order.
Can you help me to find a safe and good place to order a tip brace for it that stops the flex ?
Needs to ship to the UK?
The car as stock is good but too slow is there a pinion gear that could help increase top speed? From what I understand it’s geared low not like the 019!
Do you also have a bideo on how to grease the diffs on the 1/10 ?

Also what kv motor would you recommend for higher speeds? I have a 120a esc going in planning on a 3s battery would you say 4000kv is enough or slightly higher as the car is heavy idk
Hiya. Honestly I would avoid the top brace as it limits the size of motor etc. Go for the 5mm chassis upgrade with shock towers. Lighter, stronger and more space inside.
Also 3900kv as its the one i always use as gives good top speed. Plus the fast Rlaarlo cars both came with 3900kv.

I never had one, and i was checking videos do decide. WLtoys 144001 or 144010? 144001 Still worth? 1/14 or 1/12? some doubts. I check a video with MJX 14210. Don't know what i can buy
Honestly I would say that the 144001 as its a great all around car with more than enough speed. If you want on road and more speed then pick the 124017 or 124008. The 124008 can handle 3s as well. The 124010 is also a cheaper and decent choice and we loved it. If you want offroad then the 124018 (brushed) or 124016 (brushless) are great choices. Most parts between the 144001 - 124016 - 124019 can be shared meaning parts are always available and cheap. 124008 and 124010 share most parts as well. Hope this helps. @@RicardoFerreira82sim the 144010 had lag. Or cogging. But the 144001 for sure did not. And the 144001 isn't fragile. I still have the two I started with the channel 3.5 years ago and one is still working fine. The other was used to hit curbs and jump out of 5th floor hotel window and the only thing that broke was 1 swing arm and the motor. 😂😂

John, you are living in such a beautiful place, how is the cost of living there compared to other larger countries?
Yes it's stunning. Rent and house prices has gone insane. However for a 3 bedroom place we pay just over €1100 a month to rent. The cost of living has increased a little over the last year which we see mostly on food. But water and electric has been the same price since we arrived 7 years ago so none of the crazy prices in most of Europe. 👌😉 Thank god for that as the amount of electric I use in my real car and rc cars would have bankrupt us. 😂😂🤣🤣
I purchased an RC car from Makerfire about a month ago. After 9 days of not receiving any shipping details, I contacted them. Only to be told I'd need to pay an extra $65 au for shipping, as they deemed me in a remote area. They weren't real swift with the refund either. Maybe a place to avoid, at least for us "remote" Aussies.
Mate that is shocking. I will bring this up with them because that's unacceptable. Nearer to you than me (in Europe) so a conversation is needed. Sorry to hear that. I've only heard good things.
@@JohnRobinsonRC Thank's for the reply John. I'm wondering if it's because they're using DHL to ship. Has always been one of the most expensive shipping options for here.
@@MrDavee1 yes I understand that could be the case. However in this day and age they should have accurate shipping prices in the shopping cart based on location already. Not come afterwards asking for more. And to make it worse they take ages refunding you. That's double the insult. I'll ask and see what they say. Again sorry. Shouldn't happen like that.

@MrDavee1 good morning. Hope you are well. I got a detailed response back and you were correct. It wasn't Makerfire but DHL that changed the rules after the order. Due to the size of your product (Uhm.... Large let's say 😂) DHL wanted more cash and I suspect hid behind the remote area rule that is used a lot lately by shipping companies. The reason your previous order didn't have that issue was because it was much smaller. And the refund was issued on October 11th but of course credit card companies can't seem to be quick when reversing a transaction which I still personally don't understand in 2023. The money can go out of our accounts in seconds but going back takes days..... 🙄🙄🙁 I will inform you as well that Makerfire sent me a 124008 and after a month and a half and charging Makerfire twice to deliver it to me (at this point it was in Germany) DHL destroyed the package...... Stated couldn't be delivered and wrong address. I have received hundreds of packages to the exact address from DHL yet the last 3 have had huge problems. So while I am sure Makerfire are not perfect, they aren't guilty of much from what I can see. DHL however I will let you make up your own mind. Credit card companies... Don't get me started on them.... 😂😂😂
On a personal note. I am gutted for you. Did you ever manage to find another shipper to you?

I ordered one today and plan on putting a 3650 rocket, Max10 and a 4s drone battery in it, if the stock tyres/diffs don't explode it should smoke my Typhon 6s in a drag and top speed...
