The American Raptors defended well, but could not hang on to beat Yacare XV in their Round 13 match in Asunción, Paraguay, falling 20-10. The Raptors struck first with a Thomas Morani try within the first 10 minutes of the match, but Yacare responded with a try of their own later in the first half to tie things up at seven points apiece heading into the halftime break. Yacare put the first points of the second half on the board with an early penalty goal before the Raptors matched with one of their own. The turning point in the match came on a near try from Diego Magno that was ultimately knocked on. The knock-on relieved some of the pressure on Yacare, who was able to take advantage of the opportunity and punch in a long try off of a counter-attack to put the match on ice and secure the 20-10 victory.
