We had a guy clear 2 acres of 10-12 year-old growth and some bigger trees in a day and a half. Very dense trees and brush. It was all hardwood with the exception of a few cedars. With the cedars, he would raise the blade as high as it would go and cut the top of the tree off, then bring the blade straight down to the ground on the rest of the tree. Like a giant's hand smacking the tree into oblivion. The mulcher looked bigger than this one, and he mulched whole trees after he cut them down. We had mulch two feet deep in some places! Nice trails Mike!
Awesome machine! When I was growing up on our farm in Ohio, we had 26 acres that had grown up thick with thorny crab apple tress. The kind of thorns that destroys tractor tires so it can't be brush hogged off. So my dad had my brother and me clear the 26 acres by hand. Axes, hatchets, lopping shears - and it took us from when I was 10 and my brother was 9 until I was in the 11th grade to clear that land by hand. This machine would have done it in no time at all. Our farm was about two and a half hours west of where you are Mike. And my mom's family name is also Morgan. (My grandpa Morgan used to train work horses 'back in the day.') Keep up the good work! Love you guys' videos! Thanks...
This is perfect for some fast thinning of your forest... Mike you will be amazed how fast the trees will grow and how healthy they will look after just one year, once you get rid of the brush and garbage trees that are blocking sun to the ground and sucking up the food the good trees could be getting.... I Thinned out a part of ours a couple years back and I'm simply amazed....
Like! What a wonderful birthday present for you!😀. That is an amazing machine! I understand exactly what you mean when you say how beautiful Fall is in Pennsylvania. We are in Southeastern Pennsylvania. When I got home today,my wife and I took a one-hour walk around our property. It was just beautiful! I could have done a hundred things in that hour, but the time together with all the beautiful colors was worth more than anything. Thanks for making us stop and smell the roses!!!
Luck dog ,lm jealous . You get all the good stuff. That machine is fantastic I want one 🤪. Great job as always Mike. Say hello to your family 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Those things are awesome. THE Go To thing down this way as as A Lot of old grown up with saplings/brush cow pastures are selling to build new homes on. They either have that blade or a drum cutter for mulching brush... A few guys here n there have bought these things and opened up their own small business service with them.... Now Mike don't have to much fun and get into it and the next thing you know you turn around and look to find out you've cut the whole hillside about bare...😀😀😉
Awesome machine. I see lots of adds around here where people have bought these machines and are for hire to clear your property. Say hey to the family and yall HAVE A DAY 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
A chipper , chain saw , mulcher , all around trail maker ! Awesome machine , only 6" and larger trees need further consideration . Thanks Mr. Mike for showing me this equipment
WOW! What a machine! Ann and I are sitting here and cringing as you tear though the woods with that beast. We were chuckling when you made that Freudian Slip, sorry Melissa Mikes got a new toy and as soon as the trails are cut he's gonna take you out to dinner...promise! Great video Mike, thumbs up (but not too high, don't want them to get cut off!).
Hired a guy in Anderson, SC. Bought some property with 40 year old pine trees so dense you could hardly walk through. He worked for 3 and a half days 8 to 5 and cleared approximately 3 acres leaving most hardwoods and larger pine. Charged me $10,000. Probably could have gotten it done cheaper on a daily rate, didn't know that at the time. Property looked like a park when he finished, now one of the draw backs is that the stumps are left in place and nature starts to take back over if left unattended . When we get ready to build our house will need to get a hoe in there to dig the stumps out so we can establish a garden and lawn. Great machines ours was a reel type instead of a rotary like yours.
Hi Mike, that's a little more than I was asking about front end brush hogs. But the comments near the end. It's not like Bobcat of Pittsburgh. So shoot a lot of footage for them before they came an pick it up. But last at 0.03 in has to be one of the best looking spots on your property I've seen so far. The way the sun is setting through the trees up that rise. GP Outdoors said he starting to get some Flex. So enjoy it while you can, last night here south of Atlanta I step out on the front porch an could see my breath.
A few years ago we had to clear 7 acres of brush and dead trees to replant trees for qualifying to be in Managed Forest, a tax break deal. I hired a machine like yours with an operator for $110 per hour. He estimated $1000 to complete the project. 3 acres and $4000 later I told him to quit. I found a very helpful salesman with Skid Pro who directed me to a $4000 brush mower that would mount on my small skid steer. I did the 4 acres plus some surrounding areas in about 25 hours. It didn't mulch quite as good but darn near! They sure are fun to operate! Far more fun than a bush hog on the back of a tractor.
I've looked at both the disc and drum style mulchers and am more impressed with the drum mulchers. The disc mulcher throws too much stuff back at the cab, while the drum mulcher deflects it all to the ground. Both have advantages and disadvantages, and you've got the best of both worlds being a TH-cam star.
GD- I was thinking the same thing too..I like the drums better too IF given the option..very nice for Murphy to have Mike run the disc mulcher though. All good stuff.
You mentioned the leaves.. 90% of our leaves are gone now here in southern Ontario. This year was a beautiful fall with amazing colours. I have to say every fall the Beauty blows me away. Cooler weather, not to hot and not too cold for getting work done, no black flys or mosquitos. Perfect for enjoying the outdoors and the fruit of all the spring and summer work.
That is one powerful machine. And so quiet in the cab you can almost forget that you're attached to that land clearing tornado right in front of you. Simply amazing. After watching the whole video I had to re-watch it, I am in awe. Happy birthday. In lieu of blowing out candles, seems like you had more fun blowing out trees.
That’s a pretty awesome machine. Great for clearing trail, opening up the woods. So many uses for those. I could sure use one of these for a weekend. Great video Mike. Really enjoyed it. Thanks 👍👍👍❤️
Happy birthday Mike that is one wicked machine probably a little nervous at first you guys & gals are awesome nice tight knit family hunter smile makes my day!😁
Just living the dream eh Mike? Running all that equipment on your own little slice of paradise, nice one. I think your sawmill is my favorite thing to watch, it'll be good when you get a roof over that so you can saw under cover.
That for sure was one amazing piece of equipment total kicka**! I was wanting for your camera to get suck up into it and you trying to explain to Melissa that you mulch another camera🙂 Happy Birthday!
Wow. That is an impressive machine. I think I could have my trails done in a day with that unit. Thanks for the demo Mike. Pretty Awesome! Cheers to you, Melissa and your wonderful family!
Happy Birthday Mike and many more! Gotta love fall! I liked it when you said "I could have done it with the chainsaw, grapple and bushhog" that would be keeping it more realistic. Do u ever carry a couple of lawn chairs in the side by side and just enjoy what u'all have? I have a good friend (81years young), just can not sit down, when I'm in the timber I shut everything down and enjoy the piece and quiet ever hour or so. Nothing like a thermo of coffee and a lawn chair!👍
I've seen something like this, but your video of the operation of this equipment is incredible! What a birthday present to be delivered and I know you had a GREAT birthday! They'll be lucky to get this back from you! Ha! Thanks for sharing!
That is an awesome machine I have seen these on various channels and they make very quick work of a overgrown area. And the caution to stay back 300 feet is very real !
Good morning. Food for thought. Paying someone who is great with the machine is better financially than renting one and loosing productivity while figuring out how to operate it. Pending financial situation as well. Time also comes into play. Land Clearing companies are averaging about $375/acre. Pending layout of the land and thickness of growth they can knockout 5-8 acres. Flatter the land/overgrowth not being thick you can knockout more. Really comes down to the $ to be spent on the project/ job/task at hand. Each way has positives and negatives.
Holy Cow was that awesome! When you hit trees and brush with that thing it was like an explosion 💥, GONE ! Super, super cool! I saw one of these at the Paul Bunyan Show but it was at the Columbus Equipment Booth. These things are wicked! WOW! Thank you for sharing with us, be safe! Very cool!
You're spot on, it would have to be a business to own one of these. I wonder if the Wisconsin DNR has one of these to work in the state forests across the state on trails, etc.
Mike, that machine is a MONSTER! Looks like you could have cleared ALL your trails in a week - 2 weeks time with it. Your right - heck of a chunk of change to purchase - better to rent Or have someone with one to do the work for you. [wonder if you could do your grass with it at same time ] Have a fun day with it and make it a safe one too.
In my area Alabama where scrub is way thicker than up north Forestry mulching runs close to $200.00 per hour with a 3 hour minimum. We had 15 acres done last year at a cost of about $2500.00 and it will need it again next spring because stuff grows so fast here with our long hot years. it was still 100 degrees here until a few weeks ago.
Good morning Mike... Working in Open Space for county parks, we would use something similar, a Bobcat T200 with a flail cutter attachment. The results were the same...absolute destruction 🙂
Hey Mike if you run out of work for that machine you could bring it up here to north central Pennsylvania I could finish out the rental period for you 😂. I’ve ran a boom mower on a tractor cutting brush in the woods at work and it’s almost scary how much stuff they can eat up. Enjoy it while you got it!
Yeah there are companies who have these machines who will come out and open trails and fire breaks. Great for selectively clearing a bit like your feed lots. The perfect birthday - run the skid steer and then go out to dinner with Melissa! VERY impressive!!! Kinda scary when it catches those trees and pulls them in so fast. And so quiet in the inside.
I got to see a similar piece of equipment a while back and have always said to myself "if I had the use of that for a week I could get so much done". The machine that I saw was taking down some rather large pine trees and mulching them up in no time. I have mostly oak, maple and hickory on my property (35 acres). I just might look into trying to either rent one or hire somebody for a day or two.
Mike...this is just the type of monster you need to get rid of all the thin spindly trees in your woodland and let the best of the rest flourish. Happy trails (for you...until we meet again) .....!
That's very impressive! You're lucky to live in an area where you can use something like this and seemingly have no concern for obstructions. I live in an area predominately glacial till. @@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans I am going to have to take the photo from your facebook post to see if they even know what i want. It is a very useful machine to be sure.

Hello the Morgans that machine is one heck of a feller mulcher . They make quality machinery Deere by name dear by nature 👍 .
Nice machine. And Happy Birthday. All I got for my birthday was a T-shirt but it was still great.Thank You Jake Bissel.
Happy birthday Mike Joe H. Toledo, Ohio. That think is A BEAST. NO IF'S AND AN'S ABOUT IT.

Hey there Mike , that sure is one VIOLENT machine. Very impressive. Take care from North Pole Alaska
INCREDIBLE . I've seen one like it but it rotated the other way . Maybe older technology. Does a awsome job. I want one. Thanks for sharing.
WOW!!!!! is right. That thing is a beast. Glad I don't have one. I'd have one heck of a huge driveway into and through my acreage. Great video Mike. .
Lots of places now rent stuff like this , but man can it work !!!!! Hello Hunter !!!!
Wow. That is an impressive machine. I think I could have my trails done in a day with that unit. Thanks for the demo Mike. Pretty Awesome! Cheers to you, Melissa and your wonderful family!

That is amazing piece of machinery.

The perfect birthday gift!! Nothing like having that much power to get things done. Hope you had a good birthday Mike, from Dave in BC, Canada.
Happy birthday Mike. You lucky dog.
I've been looking at this Diamond Mower for some time now.
This is exactly how I would picture me first using it, lol.

Looked like you were having FUN! Hey Hunter!
See this is why I like your videos Mike, you explain everything, can’t wait to see more on that skid steer and how the trails come out.
What cracking piece of kit Mike. Love it. Oh and Happy birthday for the other day. Hi Hunter and greetings from North Wales 👍🏴
Right up your alley. Good idea to take a vacation day and clean up around 100 acres!!!! Now you can easily clear a spot for Melissa's pool. Have a day
Sweet!! I hired a guy to clean up a few fence rows couple years ago....Just amazing, what this machine can do.
Mike that is 1 fine piece of equipment. Just awesome. Amazing at the quality of the work.
What an awesome piece of machinery. Thanks for sharing Mike.

You're spot on, it would have to be a business to own one of these. I wonder if the Wisconsin DNR has one of these to work in the state forests across the state on trails, etc.
Mike, you're just about glowing with this beast of a machine! Hope you had a great time clearing some paths.
Mike, you look like a kid in a candy store playing on that rig. That smile says it all. I could definitely use that rig on my Idaho property!!
Had someone use this type of machine to clear a homesite. It is definitely a tree/brush eater! Agree with you on wanting to do it myself.
What an amazing machine.
Happy Birthday Mike. That is an amazing machine and love to watch this type of equipment work. Keep these videos coming.
Poor melissa she'll never get a pool!!! That thing is a great birthday present... totally awesome
In my area Alabama where scrub is way thicker than up north Forestry mulching runs close to $200.00 per hour with a 3 hour minimum.
Note to yourself is to cleanup around your feed lots. Long time ago now I ended up getting a drott in to do about five acre's of this type of clearing. The drott was finished in a day easily but it took me ages to whittle down all the heaps the drott pushed up and even longer to clean up all the disturbed ground from the drott tracks. Top machine for a fraction of the price of the alternatives and you get to work back into the soil all the nutrients from what is knocked down.
Happy Birthday
great looking machine
Maybe Beckwith in Murrysville has these - I have an old Caterpillar manual with their sticker on it from the 40's - GREAT VIDEO MIKE !
Nice shirt, solid handclap.👍👍
Great piece of equipment.
Hi Mike another great demonstration video . A definite man toy lol. I'm sure this is a great time to make easier trails to drag logs back and avoid the steepest Hills. Anyway having more trails for Melissa and the dogs to walk on through your beautiful property. Oh ya and time to make a better walking path for access for your walk-ins to your July 4 extravaganza. have fun be safe.🇨🇦 Craig
I got to say that does look like a LOT of fun. I think I could play on that all day long
Wow, that attachment is impressive. I've got a CAT 257b with high flow option. Machine runs normal at 13.6 gpm. If I engage high flow it bumps it up to 26 gpm. Still not enough to run that beast though. Plus it's only got the 2 quick couplers. But great video of course. Keep em coming.....
I've got the 48"model, flows 23 to 29 gpm.
Great stuff!!!! "Hi Flow " hydraulics are a must for that attachment and if you rent one please make sure your Door is Demolition rated I've seen steel fencepost shatter regular doors ....
Happy Birthday Mike! OMG... Melissa don't walk the dogs when Mike is running that beast.
Mike wow that machine is a boss! Thanks for the great share 👍!
The perfect birthday - run the skid steer and then go out to dinner with Melissa!
VERY impressive!!! Kinda scary when it catches those trees and pulls them in so fast. And so quiet in the inside.
Yeah,... that's a amazing piece of equipment, talk about blazing a trail.... Good job Mike!

I am a 50 year old man that likes to do much of what you do on this channel. I was giddy and giggling watching you run this beast!
Wow, that is a trail blazing beast!!!!!!
Wow that’s one wicked machine. Have fun with that Mike.
That thing is awesome! And the trails are gonna be nice. Way to go mike.
Awesome machine. There is a machine for everything now. I will definitely keep this in mind if I can get back into the woods someday.
Wow!! That's awesome
Wow, that machine eats it up, great video!
WOW!What an amazing machine! What an amazing video!Anyway, you must have had an amazing birthday.Good luck to you and yours...
Happy birthday !!!!!
Hoping you had a wonderful birthday Mike

BEST EPISODE EVER, that thing is Amazing. Do you know if you can rent something like that? Great job and thanks for the work you do.
I think some places will rent but many do not
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans I am going to have to take the photo from your facebook post to see if they even know what i want. It is a very useful machine to be sure.
That is One Wicked Beast!!👍👊
