The Stonemason's yard is in Sauchihall Street, Glasgow. It's now the site of "The Garage" nightclub. Back in the '50's it is alleged that The Stone of Destiny was taken from it's hiding place around the corner and a copy made. It was the copy that Elizabeth sat upon during her Coronation.
An utter tragedy that so many episodes have been lost. Shame on those who didn't keep them. Remember watching these as a boy, loved it.
WISH THERE WERE MORE OF THESE BRILLIANT ❤
A lovely reminder of my childhood - thanks!
Classic and I love seeing greenock back in the day when the yards were still open
Perfect Cast.... Comedy geniuses
I don't think this episode is a good Comedy as I nothing funny about the Vital Spark's engineer nearly being drowned
Absolutely Brilliant

Visited Scotland 1998 and examined a "Clyde Puffer" Tied up at Govan. Great stories Re: Parra Handy

Can’t fault vital spark, shame there’s no more preserved
Lang may yer lungs reek. Thank you for the nuanced laughter but when shall we find it again? No chance!!

@@simondobbs4480 yes and the original stories are a lot better than this episode
Wonderful typo! It's "Lang may your lum reek"--"-may yourchimney always be smoking". Only the smoke would affect the lungs...
Well and truly has it been said...
ye cannae beat a cheery-bum!😇
Who else would try selling a grave stone misspelled MacDonald with two n's
Chust sublime.
That water pumper at the end was more powerful than the Vital Spark's main (only) engine.
