- Here’s what to do on your 21st birthday when you don’t have friends or can’t spend it with them!
Main thing is that in the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t really matter. I’ve had big parties and small parties and to be quite honest, the big ones never really made me feel happier than the small ones.
Post my 21st birthday now, I am so glad that I made the decision to spend it with my family. It was an amazing 21st ❤️

my birthday is in 3 hours and my neighbor his birthday is also the same day as me. i’m lonely in my living room crying because i lost all my friends and no family even cares meanwhile when i walked out the door 30 min aho my neighbor opened his door to his family surprising him.. i never felt like this like i feel so empty.

I’m usually the most positive person in the world- writing a comment like this completely isn’t me at all! I spend all year trying to make people feel special on their birthday, throwing them parties, making them cakes and contributing more than I can afford to amazing presents. I’m the happy, excitable one and I’m definitely a people pleaser. It became apparent only a few minutes ago that things aren’t going to be the same for my own birthday- no presents, no cards (apart from from my Nan bless her!) and no party or day out. There was clearly no surprise being planned because everyone was busy organising another girls big weekend so I decided to stop moping and plan my own... only to watch 19 people, one by one, tell me that they couldn’t make it. I know I’m so blessed otherwise and as I said, I’m usually so positive and bubbly but I can’t help feeling utterly heartbroken on my birthday 💔xx

I know people are busy and have their own life. But if you go out of your way to be so nice and kind on birthdays and always show up for you friends and they can’t return the favor this one time, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate your inner circle. And I’m the type of friend you are. I always go above and beyond to make people feel special and loved and I’ve had to learn recently that friendships should not be a one way street

Next year treat yourself. Make a day all about you. Take yourself out because you deserve it. You are nobody’s first priority so make sure you are your own. Happy belated.

After spending my 19th alone(honestly cried that time), I decided that I just didn't need to care about my birthday anymore and treat it like a normal day. On my 20th, I spent the day hiking by myself(one of my favorite things) and treated it like a normal day. I wasn't exactly happy, but I didn't cry and that was what a success. Now, my birthday is coming up and I plan to spend it similarly. Except instead I will make or buy myself a cake and eat it in at one of my most favorite hiking spots. This would be the first time in 3 years I'd have cake for my birthday, after getting over an eating disorder. While I am still acknowledging it, I am just treating it like a normal day, but with eating cake.
If your birthday passed already I hope you enjoyed that cake and hikes !
Omg girls travel with your family !! If you have no family travel by yourself. Especially if you’re 21+. Be open to new experiences you’ll attract everything you need.

Girl yes!!! My family is extremely toxic and I've outgrown my friends this year. Never have I felt so lonely. This year feels different but I have to remember to treat myself because I deserve it.
I was looking on Pinterest ideas for birthdays and found this Self-celebration idea. Now I’m here looking how it did go to others. I’m celebrating my birthday solo on January 6. Probably I’ll be booking an hotel for myself.

I came here because idk i feel like so unmotivated on my birthday which is today and i feel like i don't have friends or things to do on my birthday. Sometimes i feel scare on my birthday, the fact that i'm getting older and the responsibilities that i'll face or the fact that people saying happy birthday to me on my special day (i know it's weird but i always prioritize other people and i never being specialized by other so i just feel it's weird and unusual) but yeah i feel grateful for what i have rn.

I lost most of my friends a week before my birthday (which is this exact day last year). I didn't exactly have a happy birthday but a year on and I've gotten over it faster than I thought. I still don't have many friends so I use the spare time recording covers on my TH-cam channel and it makes me just as happy. I watched this a few months ago and it really helped :) Thanks :)

Dont stress yourself about doing your birthday with people, friends at all cost. You have all your fucking life to do your birthday with people who love you. Im a parent of a nearly 20 year who had a meltdown last week - From what I thought he had a group of friends at his Church but of course 'nobody'' wished him a happy Birthday (and they new apparently ) - He reckons that he won't worry about a 21st . I got me think 'so why do we do these things ' ? . 21 is not some life changing number where something dramatic changes. So much pressure is put on the 'fakeness' . Your comment about the Instagram is very true . Those posts are just 'popularity ' contests and nobody will go back to view them in a years time. So I hope one days he finds a couple of 'real ' friends and can leave the 'fake' friends behind . Bless you this is very good advice

i know and i admit i might sound boring for some ppl but i have planned to go to online musuems! the louvre musuem has online visit available and you guys can actually go there, sitting at home! so perfect for a lockdown or lazy b'day plan!
You can go to salon and make new hair cut, new manicure or else procedures)). Then you can go and by yourself dress or clothes, flowers which you like, favorite cake( or make it by yourself). In the end of the day spend some dinner time with your family and go make photos for your instagram or whatever

my 21st is in two weeks, my coworkers were trying to give me ideas on how to celebrate and all of them were “go to brunch with your friends” “go over to your friends house and have everyone bring a different type of drink” etc etc. ive been home for like 6 hours and only stopped crying to nap and eat and then went right back to crying. will update after i watch the video
i am still crying BUT i really needed that self worth talk in the beginning. i KNOW i’m worth more than some party or going out with friends, but some part of me wishes i had something more, or someone who wasn’t obligated to care about it (i know my family isn’t technically obligated to care but,,, they kinda are). either way i decided i’m going to go to my local cat cafe ! it’s one of my favorite places and i’ve never actually been there by myself so it’ll probably be a good experience ! and since i’m not planning around anyone else like i usually am i can go early in the morning when i’ve always wanted to and when the cats are more active since nobody i’ve gone with has been a morning person.

I turn 21 on September 28th. During my 18th, 19th and 20th birthdays I’ve hosted parties or went out to dinner with friends. This year I had been considering renting a hotel to host friends, but as the date has gotten closer I’ve lost interest (as I’ve gotten older people I considered as friends are closer to associates). Instead I’m having a photoshoot with a really good friend of mine and then going home to celebrate with my mom and cat.
I’m not sure if I’ll even have a drink, but I think spending the day with those closest to me sounds like a great plan. ☺️
