Sorry for the rant, the plan was to share a 5 min unboxing video and my first impressions on the Polene Numero Neuf bag, but here's my honest review! POLENE is a brand I have always enjoyed and raved about. The Numero Sept is still one of my favorites and most worn bags from my collection. Is the quality changing?

Hi Mila. I’ve had my numero neuf for a couple of years and it looks nothing like that. I love it and it feels amazing and still looks brand new. There have been lots of complaints about Poléne recently. Now they are popular I suspect they have started cutting corners.

I bought the numero neuf last December and I love it. It holds very straight, it doesn’t have the weird inclination yours has. I would return it, for that price the shape should hold properly. It’s probably a default

Hi Mila, thank you for the honest review. I have Pólene Numero Un for 5 years and Numero Dix for 4 years. Quality of both is outstanding. Even though I do not baby my bags and I have couple scratches on one the other still looks like brand new. I highly recommended the brand to my friend but when she had received the bag recently the quality just didn’t seem right. I guess that’s the changed in leather you had mentioned. For myself I would choose to go to the shop next time I’m in Paris and check the bag in person before buying. I like weary much the Cyme bag and still considering buying it

*suluxs* got me back into fashion lol. The prices for the real shit made me stop paying attention for a long time because I couldn't participate. Also I want one of those Adidas Balenciaga collab bags but will I still like it in 5 years? Why spend thousands of dollars on that??? Nope.

Thank you for this video. We all rely on you and other TH-camrs to be honest about these products so we don’t make mistakes. I have been wanting to buy the Nodde bag for sometime but now I’m reconsidering. I have been hearing a lot lately about the diminishing quality of Polène bags. Specifically in the last few months (complaints about crooked handles, not sitting straight and the lesser quality leather). At that price you should be able to expect good quality and attention to details. I only hope that Polène follows reviews of their products on social media so they can address these issues. The style of their bags is so unique and beautiful it is sad to hear about the quality not being as good. Keep up the good work!! 💕👍🏼🫶🏻
Hi Mila, looking forward to watching as i have the Numero Neuf mini in chalk which is from 2 years ago. I love it but its just too small for me and I've decided to sell reluctantly. Id love the full sized version but don't want to take a chance on the quality they're producing now 😢 x
Ahh I love the mini version!! it’s so cute, especially as crossbody (this larger size is too bulky as crossbody). I heard it’s hard to take things in and out of the mini bag because of the tiny opening is 🤣 I tried on and it looked so small on my frame. I love the Numéro Neuf, it’s my favorite style from all Polène bags. I don’t know if I should exchange it or just stay with that and call it a day. I do love the shape and color so much!
You're right, it is a tiny opening! The shape is so unique and architectural, I even watched TH-cam videos before buying the mini and got the impression the small opening wasn't an issue, but it is. Because I love the bag, I've kept it for these 2 years but have only used it twice. I'd have for you to do the same with your full size because of the uneven shape and texture you've experienced. Might be worth returning with it to see other models in store and decide then if exchanging is possible 🤔 Good luck a day I hope it works out. PS you look beautiful as ever in this video 😍 x
It's a beautiful design. I don't own any Polene bags, so I can't speak from experience, but if the bag feels off, I would take it back. You don't want to have any doubt about it so that you can enjoy it fully. Thank you for the review!

@@milainnewyork Hi Mila! The Toteme bag has been great; it's been my go-to bag since I got it. I would like to invest in other colors down the line. The quality is excellent. The only downside is getting in and out of the bag. It's not the most accessible opening, but you get used to it after a while. However, this might not be the right bag for you if you prefer easy access.

I love bags, but won’t pay that much for them, and work very hard at finding wonderful bags at low prices. All of my bags are relatively flawless in comparison to the one you just bought. No stains, no “leaning”, no dry stiffness.
You may never have a good feeling when looking at this bag in the future. Replace it with one that has no flaws.
If Polene’s display models are better than their models for sale, something is wrong. 😊

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review of this Polene bag. I have wanted this bag for about a year now. But I would not appreciate what they are calling an upgraded leather. If it doesn't feel right, I would definitely not keep it. The feel of quality leather means everything.😢
I love a nice leather that you touch and look at and just feels great. It’s not bad and I’d probably not feel anything wrong with it if I didn’t touch the other one first - it was just sooo much nicer, like when you apply a leather balm on a bag. The crooked look is what makes me feel really off about it, it’s a shame. I’ll go to the store and see if they have a better one, I still have hope. Do you have a store near you or would you get it shipped?
I feel like this is happening with so many brands lately. Between lowering quality leather/hardware, to bad craftsmanship (talking to you Chanel with your wonky flaps), the handbag market is making it more difficult to take them seriously.
Omg if you see my coco handle you’ll laugh!! I have a 21a green which was the worst batch they ever made 🤣 I got a bag with the handle COMPLETELY crooked and then I sent back. They mailed me a new one slightly better but still so crooked 😭 must be me the problem haha You’re right regarding the quality of these brands..they keep increasing price and don’t deliver what’s promised!
Polene definitely has stunning designs but I also had to return one bag. The quality seemed really cheap compared to other brands similar in price. I have mixed feelings about this brand. Thank you for the honest review
Hi there. Ladies I have the same sjze in briwn and taupe from something like 2 years back. Wonderfull quality , holds its shape oerfect stiching. A dream bag. I would send it back , too expensive for a weird quality. Good luck.
I still love my LV reverse monogram bbkbags clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
Hi Mila, wow I'm so gutted for you! especially for the high price in the States. I mean, it's already expensive here in Europe, so I can only imagine.... I would totally return the bag if you're not happy with it. Either ask for an exchange or a refund. About the stain: in my experience working with leather (I used to work for an Italian shoe brand years ago) this specific type of grain leather can have stains and it's just the way it comes from the animal. I wouldn't worry too much about it...but the rest... nah! not fair, especially for the huge mark up they're adding every semester...

They will probably say that it is hand made. Also leather does vary as it’s a natural skin. Maybe see if they can exchange it and compare it with another one.. good luck and thank you for the review ❤
Hi! Just got my Polene mokki bag but sent it back because the glazing was badly done😢
There are a lot of problems with Polene now apparently, in the last year or two. Everything from the leather peeling after a few days to stitches being sloppy or coming out, you name it… There are literally videos “exposing” Polene at this point. I would buy a bunch of different bags from them and start a collection, but apparently I found out about them too late and probably can’t get a good quality one anymore so I will have to find an alternative brand..
I own five Polene bags: two regular sized numéro neuf, one mini numéro neuf, the Mokki, and the numéro huit. I absolutely adore each of them. Polene is one of my favorite brands right now. I’m really sorry that you seem to have purchased a defective bag. There’s no way it should be leaning like that. Also, one of the things I love the most about the neuf bags is how supple the leather is. I agree that you should return it asap.

I would take it back! My only bag from them is the Numero Un nano in the black and I absolutely love that bag. I’ve had mine for 4 years now and while I’m not using it right now it was worth every penny I paid for. I actually want this bag in the mini size and if the leather quality is not the same I would definitely be disappointed and upset for the price. Tfs

Purchased a Tonca 5 mo ago...no complaints about the quality but the functionality is another story. It's difficult to get in and out of and it holds very little. Bummed because it's a stunningly unique bag. Went to their NYC store and all the bags were off. I wish they made more practical, but still stylish bags.
I ordered the same one smaller size earlier for Christmas, it had the same crooked problem and some cuts on the handle… terrible
Wow it does look very lopsided. I have similar feelings of not wanting to say no if I’m at the stage of paying already, but I would agree with everyone that you should take it back. 😢
I just got Nodde. The bag is smooth leather but it came creased on the front side, which I haven't notice it until 3 days later (I was tooo excited and the crease was not too noticeable in dim light or if you are not touching it). I emailed about this defect and got offer an exchange(now I am waiting for the new one) From what I know, their quality is quite random, a lot of people got a defected bag, and a lot are fine....so😂 Also, many people experinced not so good customer service. For me the customer service was great so far. Soo the customer service could be random too..? What I can suggest is that you might want to throughly inspect your bag once you got it, and if there is any defect, email them asap

When they opened a store in NYC I was one of the first people to step in the store, I was so excited. Honestly, their quality used to be top notch - comparable to luxury brands, I dare to say.
I think if we depend on luck to get a good bag or to be treated properly by customer service, this shows that there’s a problem happening with the brand.
Just like you, when I got my bag I didn’t notice how crooked it was (only when I was home). What bothered me at first was just the feel of the leather which was drastically different from what it used to be, even compared to the display ones I tried.
When I went to the store to return the bag, I asked him to bring other colors and they all felt rough and dry (Numéro Neuf). They’re definitely not what they used to be, but for sure you can still get really nice bags! Also not all styles had a leather “upgrade” so this could me mostly a problem for this particular style I got.

I’m definitely taking it back this week, they give us 15 days to return. I’ll see if they have a better one, otherwise I’ll just take my money back. The mini is really adorable, Nette! My friend has it and she loves it so much! To me the only problem is the opening that’s waaay too small to take things in and out.

I would not keep the bag :( Perhaps you can look into other styles and see if any of them are up to par with the standard Polene quality.
The only style I really love is the Numéro Neuf 🙁 they have some beautiful designs but I already have so many bags. I was hoping to get the Numéro Neuf because of how unique it is - I’ve been waiting since 2022 when I got my first (amazing) Polène.
I have it and mine feels buttery soft and really nice. If yours isnt return it. You should feel happy with it.
The old version is amazing indeed, I wish they made these bags with the old leather. Unfortunately the “upgraded” version and more expensive is not good at all! Feels really off. I returned it but still LOVE this style!

Hi Mila! So sorry to hear about this! Hope you took it back. Ive heard similar feedback about Polene from people lately.. it seems theres been a drop in quality in search for profit.. so sad! Because it had very good quality / price ratio.
One lesson for us: to trust our instincts and feelings when we know our leathers! If you’re not 100% happy with it, take it back.

I have this in black from 2 years ago. The leather of your bag DOES seem dry. Mine was supple and softer the minute I unboxed it. It really looks like a knock off from the older version. Return it.

So sad! I own exactly the same bag, the same color. I bought mine when they just came out and I paid $400 for it. The leather of my bag is very supple and nice. I love this bag although I do not wear it a lot because it’s tiny bit bulky and I like more structured bags. I was just recently in Paris and for the first time I went to see Sézane store. That is where my disappointment was. Everything was so inferior quality and prices are so high for what it is. The fabrics are so stiff and not pleasant. Boxy cuts…. I do not know why people are so excited about this brand at all.

I hate these stories that contain, “I didn’t feel comfortable…” What? Why? Why should you feel uncomfortable with an obvious bait and switch? Take the bag back.
Why keep something you don't feel comfortable with ? If is me I'll never buy it , or I'll ask for 3 of the same to compare . Return it and compare with other of the same style. Just my oppion.
