Just wanted to provide an update. I sent both boards CCU and MCU for repair and test. When I received both boards back, I see the MCU marked repair. I installed the boards and the washer now is working as expected. This video is a good source of learning and saving money. Don't buy used boards CCU or MCU and save estimate repair cost. Thank you Scott !
Good input. I have the HE 4t. Shows “F11 / communication issue between mcu/ccu”. Where, May I ask, did you send the units to for “test and repair”? ThnX in advance.
I'm following along to try to fix my machine. What is that wire tool you are using to pop the hinged door open where you check the first blue wires on the MCU? Thanks, Marlene
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Thanks for replying. I thought it was a specialty tool to open the plastic box. Boy, do I feel dumb. I did find the hook and ordered one, but then discovered all you have to do is reached behind the lip of the cover on the back and it just opens up easily just using your fingers. I kept trying to do something to those 4 hard plastics tab looking things. face palmed over this numerous times. So far nothing has worked so I decided to see if I could find a refurbished older machine. One without computer thingies. Whatever happened to appliances that lasted for many years and could always be fixed. I was told they do not even make my model's MCU or CPU anymore.
I replaced both MCU and CCU but still getting error code F11 - I also checked the blue wires connectors and didn't see anything obvious. All connectors are checked as well. I also checked the filter and make sure nothing got blocked. Anything else I need to check ?
So I've got the Whirlpool duet and when it's goes to spin cycle it sounds like marbles are rolling around in the back of the washer I took the back panel off and when I turn it by hand it it sounds like stuff broken there like bearings or something but it's been pretty easy it just sounds like stuff broken there I'm not sure what you have any idea what it could be before I take it apart
Spider arm is disintegrating inside the wash drum (it's on the back side of the stainless steel wash tub...they are made of an alloy that literally rots over time). You are most likely hearing pieces of it rolling around inside. The washer will shake like crazy once 1 of the 3 spider arm's break completely!
I removed all the connectors from both modules..they were clean..tweaked them a bit..found the motor connection sulphated..cleaned the contacts..one wash worked fine and the second one gave code f11 again..don't know what else to do .. I also found two shocks with leaks and when squeezing they move a lot... I don't know if that has anything to do with it... I checked the soldering of the modules and didn't see anything strange...
Thanks
You’re Welcome😊😊😊
Thanks!

Excellent video. This led me right to the issue (motor control board had visibly burnt up). Thanks so much for posting.
Excellent,
Thanks Martin😊
I appreciate the video. I found the wire harness connector to the CCU damaged. I was wondering if you knew where to get that 3 wire pigtail?
Thanks Justin,
Can you send a picture of that to me at Scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com?
Hey Scott, Thanks for the video and your time to make it, it really helped. I had a burnt board, best wishes
Thanks Anthony😊
So I need ro replace the three conductor MCU-CCU communication cable on my Kenmore H-3. Any part numbers/sources?
Thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you Scott - I bought the used boards and I believe they are bad boards.
Gotcha,
I hope they can give you your money back👍
Can’t get large black wires out of mcu, any tips?
Can you send a video of that to my email at scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
Hola tengo ese modelo de lavadora y me da un código FH que puede ser gracias

It’s just a hook tool that I got at the auto parts store👍

Can you do a continuity check of those skinny blue wires using a continuity tester.
I think there’s a break in the wire inside the insulation .

Thanks Tim,
That’s a worn out rear bearing.
Very expensive repair.
Good time for a new washer 👍

I'm doing it now
Please let us know how it goes.

1:20 so where the hell are the three blue wires to check??? 👎🏼
They come in near the bottom of the motor control unit👍
The ocean towards the end of the clip, was that Beirut Lebanon 🇱🇧
Good guess.
Actually rock-a-way beach in Pacifica CA
Scott why didn't you just check the dc voltage from the cpu to the mdu on the blue wires
Good idea ,
Do you know the DC voltage that should be coming into the MCU?
