I'm seeing everyone say "MONK GETS DOUBLE JUMP!!!!" all over the internet. But that's not what the patch note says. It says, "... allowing you to double jump TO DASH FORWARD..." As in you press jump twice to trigger the dash. It doesn't sound like you will jump twice. Rather you will dash in the middle of your normal jump. Just want to clarify before the community gets outraged and claims they removed the double jump later on.
As a Feral Druid main since freakin' MoP, I have a feeling that sometimes, developers that are in charge of the Cat really do NOT play the spec at all. Like, they're not testing it for themselves when applying these types of changes. Some changes are good on "paper" and "slowing" the spec down isn't that bad.. but! ARE YOU HAVING FUN WHILE PLAYING IT? Do you feel like a fuckin' ferocious predator tearing up your enemies/prey and shit? I don't think they play the class at all. It's like they're just watching it from the sidelines, look at the certain numbers (without comparing it to the performance of OTHER classes) and they just go like - "Hmmm. 20% increase of damage for a certain talent, for a brief period of time?! TOO MUCH. CUT THAT SHIT in half or something"... For years, Feral druids have been sweating really hard to actually get to the top 10 (depends on the expansion) on the damage charts (basically, to be viable as a dps) and DragonFlight Feral is the most fun I had in years playing El Gatto AND to actually feel viable, do big deeps, pump big time numbers and dps. It feels fun, basically. Hey, we finally got to the point that we can out-dps a freakin' Moonkin and to be more viable on some raid fights.... I dunno man... I'm torn in the middle on these changes... (Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk).
Exactly! I would like to see feral become more competitive. It just seems as if the devs aren’t interested in doing just that. They treat feral with vague enthusiasm while favoring other damage dealing classes as ‘more fun’. I do agree with you on the Dragonflight changes to the class. I have had fun and I feel like I can slice and dice anything that gets in my way. I would hate to lose that experience.

Why is the reset (e.g.) for the Tiger's Fury gone (when you kill a target with a bleed on it)??? Why? I was so fuckin' stocked for the War Within, especially for the Hero Talents and us finally being able to be "Druids of the Claw" but all we can do now, it seems, is to again, struggle like always. Seems that I will have to go back to Bear full time. Bah... We'll see how the Cat will perform once the true WW launches. It's early alpha, we've yet to see what will they do...

Do you realize that Feral is still the only class in the game, that has snapshot mechanic to its gameplay? On top of that, you have TWO resources to take care off and ALL that for miniscule damage. I manage to always land in the top 10 dps in my guild, but that was only in the DF and only because I've been playing it for shit ton of years. I have all those rotations as my second nature. It's a lot for a new player. If they want a new user friendly experience - first - get rid of the fucking snapshot mechanic. THEN, think about even removing combo points and focus solely on Energy. I mean, I can theorycraft about it 'till tomorrow, but slowing down the spec, I dunno.... Bah... we'll see. :D
The thing ive learned in all my time since wotlk until now is that, if a feral main complains its either: 1. complete nonsense since they dont even know what snapshots are and come up with total bs to cover up their bad keybinds and their kick on alt gr numpad 5 or 2. a whole spreadsheet about how fucked up the situation of the specc is since x periods of time and boy i can tell its mostly the second option because these players are so entitled about their specc and get fucking 0 recognition since end woltk and mid to end legion afaik

Blizzard's response on DK makes me worried even more. We were asking for 2H Obliterate to be as competitive as Breath, some were asking to remove Breath and replace it with something doesn't require glue, we were also asking to make D&D an aura, since other plates can hit and run at no loss while we can only watch in despair as tank drags everyone out of our placement. But instead of applying or advancing these, Blizzard's response seems more on "less breath duration time = less glue" and "we WILL make Vile Contagion, that shitty complex AOEr requiring four CDs to start dealing damage so you never used it ever, necessary again" than anything we asked for. Plus the Rider of Random Apocalypse? Oh boy I'm dreadful.
I agree, instead of them giving us this garbage they should be reworking both frost & unholy, allow unholy to duel wield the way frost does. I could go on but nobody listens.
This, this, this. And we are all writing and rewriting the same things on the forums. Endless posts about the bad class tree, and then they just doubled down on it with MULTIPLE dead-end talents. Endless posts about how core balance and guardian gameplay are meh and that just throwing more new talents on top of a broken system will not fix it. Endless posts about how feral just lacks (similar to survival and enhance). Endless posts about how we are losing the survivability and mobility arms race, esp. for our two dps specs (compared to other dps specs). Endless posts about how fun was detected so remove those talents for some ODD reason; examples: displacer beast, stellar drift, and NOW tireless pursuit... WHY!?

Honestly, I would prefer not to wait for major damage abilities (or any damage ability) while playing feral. What makes me dangerous is the consistent application of bleeds and strikes. Waiting for those to become highlighted or available could negatively impact my experience.
Yep. We've been giving suggestions on how to fix Shaman for a while now, and still no dev feedback. One can only hope their silence is just diligence in making Shaman a modern class, and not just ignoring them, though, it wouldn't surprise me if that's what ended up happening.
I hope they will reduce the button bloat and make class rotations fun :) Affliction needs to be simplified in aoe :) Elemental shamans need a better concept to combine the elements rather than beeing either fire or lightning shaman. Their mastery is also kind of weird only working on builders (:
If you want less buttons, play GW2. I like having more than just a few buttons to press, its one of the reasons why I can never stick for long to classes like DH, which for me feel like they have no buttons at all to press.
dont worry when wow will arrive on consoles you will have less buttons to press. tried it with a game controller what a nightmare . they will have to simplify it to play with a game controller. i use programming macros on my keyboard or mouse to already simplify the rotations. lots of players use the ingame macros too to just press one key that cast multiple spells.

I loved essence font, its apparently going lol. So thats one of my classes and specs that will soon never be the same. Exciting and yet not exciting.
I can't believe they are getting rid of essence font. I'm not a MW but healing along side them I know that is their top healing ability in raid. It's like, let's get rid of arms warriors mortal strike while we are at it. Or maybe a druids rejuvenation.
i like the general idea, just excited to see some of the details. several hero talent trees yet to be revealed too probably due to some of the pending spell changes.
Play a simpler class and take simpler talents, then. Dont punish people who enjoy complexity. The game is 20 years old. I've earned my skilled and I like them all.

Orbital Strike needs LOVE!! It is a fantastic talent and would help with constant damage! A 1-point talent. A 15% damage reduction and a 90 second cool down.
so i played SoD and it was fun. never played a melee hunter. was interested in seeing some survival hunter play in the War within. actually i cant find anyone streaming the hunter builds at all
If they slow it down they need increase Rip and Rake damage on single targets, but then Rip might become too good trough Primal Wrath on cleave/aoe. Slowing it down for shure reduces our Combo Point generation and through that our DPS.
Little worried about how much I might need to relearn on my mistweaver... and seems I should just hold off till the expansion to learn windwalker if they are going to change it that much.
Being a class that can't heal at all, other than a long cool down potion, I'd like to see the mages with a lot more power. All the classes that can heal, can do a ton more dps and survive a lot better. Glass cannon? Heck no, glass cruise missle
the monk class tree looks so much worse in my opinion, you need to take transendance to access like half of the talents i think either transcendance should be moved somewhere else or there should be more connections to other talents so you can still take some talents in the middle without wasting a point on a useless ability
@loveyourself3246 no, ive never used that ability in my entire life and even if you like the ability, the fact that this single talent is what locks half of the talent tree is still not good in my opinion, you should be way more flexible in chosing your path through the tree
Ugh I was finally happy with my druid, I really don’t know how I feel about that. Weren’t their new trees supposed to be evergreen and made to be expanded? Why are they changing/removing talents?!
On the fence about feral druid changes as well, but don’t they tune/change classes every expansion? I think the talent trees will eventually be expanded on, but for better or for worse they seem to be making tweaks to all classes likely based on how they played during DF. Pres evoker for example is getting one of their tier bonuses baked into the talent tree.
Personally I like slowing down classes a little bit so each ability feels a little more impactful. Sometimes trying to focus on the procs going off and maintaining buffs is overwhelming while also dodging or interacting with encounter mechanics
they screwing up holy priest, perverted into being basically into being a buff bot moonkin, instead of a reactive pure healer that its supposed to be. They still havent fixed the slow cooldowns either (cd’s are too long and need either cd’s reduced or boost haste impact so it speeds up gcd). they have so much reliant on holy in mythics but dont build them able to handle them, forcing holy to have to over gear mythic before they can do it, rather than running it to improve gear which is effing backwards. Frustrating when all your buddies classes can advance in mythic and you cant until they or you eventually outgear lower keys to finally advance the holy priest.. and this is from a holy priest that is very well played too.. this is not skill, they mostly fixed holy damage dealing, but not mythic healing yet and turning them into rogue/moonkin buff buts in war within just pisses me off big time
Feral Druid dev's are clueless. We dont want any more downtime as it feels at least for me booringly slow as it is even though Feral in Dragonflight is otherwise at very enjoyable spot, it's no longer automatic bench on Mythic Raids. Feel like they want make Feral worse and make its player count zero in TWW.
ummm, is that horse galloping through the air like its jumping from stone to stone or something at the beginning?? because that looked pretty awesome and would be pretty awesome to see more variety in how things fly. and maybe someday theyll add a flying shoe you sit in like mario in kuribos shoe but it flies instead of just hopping. make it a leatherworking or tailoring made mount. also let bm hunters ride any of their pets. we play bm hunters because we love the pets! let us love them even more!
Im starting to get PTSD flashbacks from.last several expansions shamans not getting any work and we end up garbage untested and minimally viable while mages get reviewed and updates constantly. Farseer is hot garbage for elemental and meh for resto.
Feral druid gonna be F tier. An auto attack class with low dmg. So sad to see its going back to classics style. Looks like another expansion my main gets laughed at.

and even if you like the ability, the fact that this single talent is what locks half of the talent tree is still not good in my opinion, you should be way more flexible in chosing your path through the tree

On the fence about feral druid changes as well, but don’t they tune/change classes every expansion? I think the talent trees will eventually be expanded on, but for better or for worse they seem to be making tweaks to all classes likely based on how they played during DF. Pres evoker for example is getting one of their tier bonuses baked into the talent tree.

Personally I like slowing down classes a little bit so each ability feels a little more impactful. Sometimes trying to focus on the procs going off and maintaining buffs is overwhelming while also dodging or interacting with encounter mechanics

they screwing up holy priest, perverted into being basically into being a buff bot moonkin, instead of a reactive pure healer that its supposed to be. They still havent fixed the slow cooldowns either (cd’s are too long and need either cd’s reduced or boost haste impact so it speeds up gcd). they have so much reliant on holy in mythics but dont build them able to handle them, forcing holy to have to over gear mythic before they can do it, rather than running it to improve gear which is effing backwards. Frustrating when all your buddies classes can advance in mythic and you cant until they or you eventually outgear lower keys to finally advance the holy priest.. and this is from a holy priest that is very well played too.. this is not skill, they mostly fixed holy damage dealing, but not mythic healing yet and turning them into rogue/moonkin buff buts in war within just pisses me off big time

Feral Druid dev's are clueless. We dont want any more downtime as it feels at least for me booringly slow as it is even though Feral in Dragonflight is otherwise at very enjoyable spot, it's no longer automatic bench on Mythic Raids. Feel like they want make Feral worse and make its player count zero in TWW.

ummm, is that horse galloping through the air like its jumping from stone to stone or something at the beginning?? because that looked pretty awesome and would be pretty awesome to see more variety in how things fly. and maybe someday theyll add a flying shoe you sit in like mario in kuribos shoe but it flies instead of just hopping. make it a leatherworking or tailoring made mount. also let bm hunters ride any of their pets. we play bm hunters because we love the pets! let us love them even more!

Im starting to get PTSD flashbacks from.last several expansions shamans not getting any work and we end up garbage untested and minimally viable while mages get reviewed and updates constantly. Farseer is hot garbage for elemental and meh for resto.

Feral druid gonna be F tier. An auto attack class with low dmg. So sad to see its going back to classics style. Looks like another expansion my main gets laughed at.
Hopefully Vengeance gets nerfed. The spec warps the M+ meta so badly.

Class changes these days are just a blur. It's all dumbed down and levelled out to be even more boring than they already were. It's no wonder why 'classic warcraft' exists.
