i feel like they should've remove the first time kenpachi said "nozarashi" because it kinda remove the hype of the name reveal because of the wrong timing. PERSONALLY i think as he leaps towards the meteor and saying the name is the proper name reveal.
I haven’t read the manga chapters in awhile so I am not sure what was cut (besides the one line when the meteor is coming down) but I loved the is episode! So fast paced and well animated! I think the visionary JP VA really shone in this episode!
There were a lot of over the top reactions to the meteor. Everyone was saying that they would die, including the sternritters. And the worst reaction was of Haschwalth screaming to protect the majesty as if the meteor would kill him. I'm glad they cut that.
Think about it. This episode was still amazing and has adapted a lot or chapters, making space for more stuff in the rest of the second invasion since there’s still 6 episodes left with one of them being 1 hour. People aren’t looking at the bigger picture
This is the only Kenpachi fight in this cour. In the last cour only Yamamoto, Ichigo & Kenpachi got great fights because of how important to the story they are. Doing a Kenpachi fight right should have been one of their main priorities.
Episode 12 and 13 are going to be their own separate episodes like normal except they’re going to be aired at the same time back to back. So technically speaking, we only have five episodes left until the finale of this cour. So not much time left.
@Stanzbey69 It's freaking Kenpachi. Yhwach, Aizen, Ichigo & Kenpachi are always supposed to be the main priority. My problem is that the last episode looked better than this. If this was the best episode in Cour 2 until now, I wouldn't have had a problem. But with the last episode, they had already proved that they could do better, and then they degraded the quality for a Kenpachi episode. That's just ridiculous.
@@djshiki7657 and the fight is still amazing what are you complaining about. The Bleach community is quickly becoming as annoying as the OP/AOT community. Pipe down
The original Bleach anime definitely did the fights better in my opinion. The new arc has much better animation but the timing feels so rushed. I don't think fans want DBZ level arcs on fights but a 2 episode fight that adds some dialogue and added action would be great. I could have waited another year or 2 for more episodes to be honest simply because of how great the animation looks but the pace is off-putting at times...although not a deal breaker...if that makes sense 😂
They really limited themselves with the war making it only 50 episodes😢 this fight could have been 2 episodes but it’s okay I’m just glad they animated TYBW so I’m not gonna complain 😊
They could drag fights but again it will expected that reuse shots like the Quilge and Ichigo sword dodge scene will occur more frequently. And we all know at this point people will again eventually complain about those either ways. Like heck people are quick to point out and make fun of any reused shots like the Ywach smiling so. Or they could keep all the dialougue and side commentaries for the Greammy fight but again people would complain how the episode will feel more like, less action more talking. People will end up complaining anyways even if we had the the episode one way or another.
As a viewer I was quite pleased with the episode, especially the use of CGI for the guns. Using CGI was a purposeful choice that beautifully highlighted the surreal aspect of Gremmy's powers, as well as how well Gremmy is animated for the episode. I believe that the fight should've deserved an extra half an episode, I believe this would help the flow especially with what's in the next chapters. Having the EP end on Kenny's Shikai and then next week add extra scenes to the fight as well as giving Yachiru a longer scene at the start of the first EP closing her story arc better. and then using the last 10 mins of the next episode to re-introduce Ichigo back in. But TBH the episode was amazing not looking at it under a critical lens.
i started watching Bleach few months back and although i have some serious critiques when it comes to powers and how the anime is explained, this thousand blood arc is nothing short of greatness. the animation and the characters designs is one of the best and my boy Zaraki is just simply one of my favs and this episode actually exceeded my expectations. 9/10 episode surely one of best episodes bleach had to offer so far
I still believe this whole thing ought to have been 1.5 eps. yachiru fight could have been extended a bit to take half an ep then have the ep end on a cliffhanger with gremmy summoning the meteor. next ep would then show the reactions of the characters to the meteor coming to really feel the threat before kenpachi revealing his shikai and then maybe some slow mo/back and forth attacks to drag it a bit til gremmy's death, then the post credit will be the bambis attacking.
I think it would have been better if at the meteor point was the end of the episode. And wrapped it up in a few moments in next week's episode. Which could have been a bit more clear on his space scene and made kenpachi feel more worn out. He doesn't feel as worn down after the fight as he is in the manga
They did not give us time to process, and I feel like it was done perfectly. It hit the hype, and hit the feel. The fingers splitting came as a chock, and Gremmy’s off-model can be explained as him deforming and distorted
Stellar episode. The animators did a really good job of showing the size and scale of the meteor. Although, I do wish we got to see a few more people's reactions from that meteor. In the manga the majority of people were pissing themselves and this includes shinigamis and sternritters. I believe even Ywhach was a bit fed up with Gremmy. There is a similar scene in Naruto where Madara summoned a meteor. And what really sold the scene as hopeless was seeing everybody's face drop with their reactions. May still get to see it next episode since they have been cutting away and moving things around. No matter what I am just happy to be here with the amazing Bleach content.
I'll even add another anime that used a meteor, One Punch Man. The feeling of hopelessness and despair was present in everyone until Saitama came thru. Bleach did the meteor's destruction scene very well. Where it could have been elevated was the before and after since the meteor was so abrupt during the middle of their war. We don't get to see what the some of the people that were present were thinking when a big a** rock was suddenly falling to crush them lol
The animation for this fight was spectular alot of people hate the match up of Kenny vs Gremmy but i really love it despite the ending just love the stunning ways Gremmy uses his powers to fight Kenny and seeing Kenny being absolute badass cutting through the meteror and fabric of space awesome
There are some thing I wish they didn't cut out but there are some things that were added that answered quite a few theories(now facts). Overall...excellent episode!
Kinda hate that they cut out the dialogue between askin and Pepe, the shinigami surprised they couldn’t notice kenpachi’s spiritual pressure and everyone freaking out over the meteor
Honestly if gremmy fight was like that it doesnt look good for the other hyped fights they will all feels kind of rushed if this is how its done i cant think of any long hyped fights that could really be insane as i imagined if this is the standard. Maybe my expectations too high idk
Okay, so I just watched the episode and all I have to say it was pretty good. Albeit with a few personal gripes but that is just me. And some criticisms that I do agree with DBZimran. For starters the cut stuff like Askins stuff with Pepe, I’m fine with as it did bring the pacing down a bit. The over reaction with Squad 11 was streamlined which was nice and good. I thought they were going to cut more lines like Kenpachi asking “what’s a cookie” would be cut, but it’s there and it made if more hilarious and bad ass so I’m okay with that. The only thing I do think was my personal gripe was not seeing everyone’s reaction to the meteor cause Bazz-B’s line “What the Hell did Gremmy Do!” Was hilarious in the manga, but I understand that the pacing would have been dragged by that scene, so it’s fine I guess. But the one thing I will agree on was the scene where Gremmy’s body getting torn apart as the manga did it better than the anime as we only saw Gremmy’s hand and not his shoulder torn or his ribcage popping out, I guess it was for television standards I guess. Even though this was quicker mostly due to the action, we have to remember that in the manga the vast majority of this fight was a lot of action panels so I do think this was right and I think the fight was done justice. Even though there were some gripes, I still think it is strong and not the most disappointing thing in the anime so far. So for my prediction for the next episode since it is Ichigo vs the Bambi’s, my guess is that it will adapt the second half of 579 to the end of 584 as I think how 584 ends is a great cliffhanger to go to the next episode. Although as I go along that is when I am noticing where the problems where the pacing and problems with this arc are starting to show. If this cour ends with Yhwach and Ichibe then I hope Kubo and Pierrot have planed this well. Although if the last episode is an hour (not combining episodes) I think I will be fine with that.
Honestly for me I felt like the episode lacked some of the timing and transitions I really enjoyed in it before. For example with Yachiru looking in distress and then Kenpachi just showing up. It felt like a boring, plain transition. Still a good episode though.
Ima be honest, On first watch outside of the meteor scene I didn’t enjoy it. I felt disappointed. They should have added more scenes with kenpachi shikai. He is fighting the imagination more stuff should have been added. Yachiru got too much screen time. I feel like the episode should have ended when kenpachi cut the meteor and reveal his shikai.
That's how I imagined they would adapt this fight into the anime but damnit this one was a disappointment although I appreciate the animation. Idk but I can't really enjoy this cour, the fights just end too early but cutting some cool dialogues.
i believe that the sakuga will mainly be spared for the fight with ichibe and also the art is very detailed so its understandable why there isnt as great animation as there could be
We in episode 2: i believe that the sakuga will mainly be spared for the fight with gremmy and kenpachi We in epidode 7: i believe that the sakuga will mainly be spared for the fight with ichibe and yhawch We in episode 13: i don't believe anymore
Sakuga this sakuga that. This episode has sakuga, maybe not just the type of sakuga you wanted or imagined it. Like seriously the anime made the fight actually more connected since it cuts out side commentaries and people can see how quick Kenpachi counters all the bullshit Gremmy throws at him. And this fight was never a Mano a Mano fight to be his with to expect an extended sword fight or hand ti hand combat. The fight is more if Gremmy makes something and Kenpachi bitch slaps it away. Like what kind of sakuga do you think would compliment that kind of fight anyway? Like the anime did give us great "effects sakuga and environmental destruction sakuga" which makes sense in the contact of the fight. At least be logical in expecting something to begin with. Like just don't expect something unreasonable then be disappointed when it that unreasonable thing don't happen. Even if they did the pull the shit you wanted, you will shit on the episode anyways if the non fight scenes will look bad in sacrifice to make the fight scene as good as possible. Like Look at One Piece, Yeah Gear 5 was animated well but people don't make the episode 10/10 because of the compromises made just to make that Gear 5 scene look that prestine at the cost of reusing shots multiple shots shoving in a lot of unnecessary flashbacks etc. Etc.
@@Snzn_7 the animation is some of the best from cour 2 though as I said I believe the main chunk of Sakuga animation that many people want or expect will be preserved for the final fight I’m not saying there’s no sakuga I mean kenpachi cutting through that meteor was so cool rukias bankai was great and round at ringside was the ep I expected to hold some of the best animation and that was true. All I’m saying is just like the end of dbs they’ll save the best action animators for later episodes in order to give them more time to cook sorry for saying it in a rude way
The speed issue has been felt almost this entire arc. I can't help but feel that we're not getting enough time with any of these new villains. Nevermind the fact that we basically just get a tease with everyone's new powers. They're just like, here ya go. Aaaaand it's gone.
Visually I can say it's the best in the cour so far ... art direction is stoning as a manga reader I felt the same ... showcasing Gremmy's power was fine Mediator destroying was phenomenal but removing the mediators reactions from Shinigamis and Strenreters was a big L on this episode maybe they will include it next is it a bad episode (no) it's definitely one of the top 5 we have so far but I think there focus shift to the next episode 21 and the new battel they will include in 22
The animation and style really got me it looked very pleasing and beautiful especially when he cut the meteor, and i was fine with the people reacting to the meteor being cut out it didnt really do much especially the jugram scene
Honestly this episode had the herculean job of living up to the impossible hype that last week's episode. For me it was just as great, the frame of Kenpachi as a kid chopping up the meteor teared me up ngl
I'm not entirely sure on why some parts were left out from the manga, but when Gremmy unleashed the meteor onto the soul society, there were reactions from the other Sternritter and Soul Reapers and they were terrified of Gremmy's power. Even Haschwalth was calling to protect His Majesty.
They might add more in cour 4 so there’s content between the manga end of TYBW and the epilogue per se. They did also add some bits about Kensei etc. The reactions to the meteor could have been a Kubo change. Also I do think it seems like the end of Gremmy was meant to feel slow as Gremmy loses the body he created through his V schrift
I def felt the emptiness, exactly how you explained. I do feel like it was tough to go from Rukia v As Nodt to this episode. I feel like the meteor should of been able to air out a little more. Jugram running around yelling would of been great. If they're trying to save time for the last fight of cour 2 I'm down to make some sacrifices 😢
It feels like yesterday when the TYBW manga came out. I was really hyped for this episode and based off the manga, I was extremely excited. I can't help but feel somewhat dissapointed by episode - it felt overly rushed, despite the excellent animation and the fantastic voiceacting. I felt the dialogue Askin Nak LeVar about how Gremmy was a monster and Jurgan telling the soldats to protect his majesty was content that should have been added to the anime to emphasize how op Gremmy was. Additionally the reason (I imagine) why it didn't show Gremmy's mortal injuries is because they were too violent. Coincidentally, this happened for another Kenpachi fight - they did not show the extent of Nnoitra's injuries in the anime because it was too violent. When I compare the fights Kenpachi had between Gremmy and Nnoitra, there really is no comparison. Nnoitra's fight with Kenpachi is hands down one of the best fights in Bleach, even though the animation for Gremmy's fight is unbelievable. It's a good fight, but I difinitely didn't feel fulfilled after episode 20. If it was at least 2 episodes long, thay would have been awesome. The background of each sternritter is something that's missing I think, but it was really well done in the Espada arc. Too many characters killed off too easily (especially those who I felt had potential) and I remember back when the manga was coming out, Kubo was very much rushed to complete it. Well, I can't help but feel that the anime is now rushing an already rushed manga. Anyways, the fight was alright, the animation was on point and the voiceacting was supreme 👌🏻
I love bleach tybw. Yamamoto's fight was my favorite episode followed by James/superstar. I also liked unohana vs kenpatchi and ichigo's new dual swords reveal. However, I was hyped for kenpatchi's return, but this episode didn't deliver in my opinion. It wasn't bad, but it was underwhelming. It lacked the flare of the other episodes I mentioned. It also wasn't on par with Rukia's and Shinji's bonkai reveals. It had too much dialog and Gremmy was overpowered but had boring powers. And the way the fight ended was not great. Kenpatchi is one of my favorite characters, but this episode will just be one of a few forgettable episodes in an otherwise great arc. I hope kenpachi fights with a better enemy in the next episode because this fight is just not it for me. It is bad when side B and C characters like Renji and Rukia get more interesting fights than Kenpatchi.
Would it be cool whenever Kenpachi is not using his shikai, Yachiru pops up again and say "Ken-chan, that was a great fight!". I'm gonna miss out cutie Yachiru 😭
I felt such a rush of seeing my favourite Maniac returning to deliver another spectacular fight. Just love his gruff voice, the absolute Masterpiece, that is Zaraki Kenpachi. I have not been disappointed so far.
I loved this episode, the only thing I don’t particularly like is the removal of the fact that gremmy was locked up for assuming most of his life. It removes the huge reason gremmy was able to be defeated. I am glad Pepe wasn’t in the episode though.
As much as I enjoyed this ep. I agree about the death of Gremmy. When I saw it earlier today, I remembered seeing more detail and in regards to his size or muscle prior to his death.

This episode was a MADNESS
This fight should’ve lasted 2 episodes imo. All these Sternrriters are cool, but they all die as soon as they are introduced
Agree... I feel they blitzed through some great moments
They didn't have the budget for that . They'd have to double the episode count and the art and animation might suffer a bit

The gun scene was insane. Ima keep saying it too every new episode is the new best episode week after week. I love it

Imo it's the 3rd best behind the As Nodt and Bambietta fights.

Manga is what i like more but the Episode was good for me i enjoyed it!
But yeah your critic is fair and i kinda agree with you!
The episode was amazing and I was wishing it was longer because Gremmy was so cool and definitely was done justice in the anime!
i feel like they should've remove the first time kenpachi said "nozarashi" because it kinda remove the hype of the name reveal because of the wrong timing. PERSONALLY i think as he leaps towards the meteor and saying the name is the proper name reveal.
Fully agree here.

The Sound in that scene is incredible.

Favorite episode by far. Can’t wait for next weeks episode
Never Meant To Belong playing at the end was surprisingly fitting
Honestly the background and red sky increased my heart rate
I haven’t read the manga chapters in awhile so I am not sure what was cut (besides the one line when the meteor is coming down) but I loved the is episode! So fast paced and well animated! I think the visionary JP VA really shone in this episode!
There were a lot of over the top reactions to the meteor. Everyone was saying that they would die, including the sternritters.
And the worst reaction was of Haschwalth screaming to protect the majesty as if the meteor would kill him. I'm glad they cut that.

That was FIRE. Man this cour just keeps getting better and better!!!!
@@djshiki7657 it’s still amazing. A problem with Bleach fans is thay they’re insanely nitpicky since they’ve had 10 years to hyperanalyze the manga
Pipe down
Love the Title card of this episode. It was like Kenpachi Zaraki making a statement that was absolutely true
Yep. I think last episode was good pacing wise but this one is not it. Shame it's probably my fav fight in the arc
They really limited themselves with the war making it only 50 episodes😢 this fight could have been 2 episodes but it’s okay I’m just glad they animated TYBW so I’m not gonna complain 😊
@@Maxjuliann52 episodes
They could drag fights but again it will expected that reuse shots like the Quilge and Ichigo sword dodge scene will occur more frequently.
And we all know at this point people will again eventually complain about those either ways. Like heck people are quick to point out and make fun of any reused shots like the Ywach smiling so.
Or they could keep all the dialougue and side commentaries for the Greammy fight but again people would complain how the episode will feel more like, less action more talking.
People will end up complaining anyways even if we had the the episode one way or another.
holy fucking shit such a goated ep
loved the ep since ken is my favorite but wish it was longer
Gremmy: "I'm the visionary who are you?"
Kenny:
"I'M JUST KEN!
(and I'm enough)
AND I'M GREAT AT DOING STUFF!
SO HEY, CHECK ME OUT, I'M JUST KEN"
He doesn't feel as worn down after the fight as he is in the manga
gremmy is so underrated people don't anything give the respect he deserves
Gremmy dead
@@ramenra8942 ik but he still is underrated
The animation wasn't spectacular, there's a bunch of still frame and stiff animation

No they’re not high. It was too fast.
complaining that the anime isn’t recreating specific panels is so annoying, sometimes it makes sense but the gremmy body complaint is stupid
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥EPISODE
And the way Kenpaichis Zonpakto name was revealed was boring to
it's all happening so fast
Ima be honest, On first watch outside of the meteor scene I didn’t enjoy it. I felt disappointed. They should have added more scenes with kenpachi shikai. He is fighting the imagination more stuff should have been added. Yachiru got too much screen time. I feel like the episode should have ended when kenpachi cut the meteor and reveal his shikai.
That's how I imagined they would adapt this fight into the anime but damnit this one was a disappointment although I appreciate the animation. Idk but I can't really enjoy this cour, the fights just end too early but cutting some cool dialogues.
This episode should have ended with Kenpachi revealing the zanpaktou name
I just wish they let appreciate the shock of realizing Greemy's abiltiies more. MFUCKER CLONED HIMSELF AND SUMMONED A GALAXY JUST CUZ HE CAN
Gremmy v Luffy (Gear 5). Who wins?
i believe that the sakuga will mainly be spared for the fight with ichibe and also the art is very detailed so its understandable why there isnt as great animation as there could be
We in episode 2: i believe that the sakuga will mainly be spared for the fight with gremmy and kenpachi
We in epidode 7: i believe that the sakuga will mainly be spared for the fight with ichibe and yhawch
We in episode 13: i don't believe anymore
All I’m saying is just like the end of dbs they’ll save the best action animators for later episodes in order to give them more time to cook sorry for saying it in a rude way
The way gremmy went out reminded me of ulquiorra, turned to dust/reishi getting carried by the wind...except gremmy's brain was the only thing left

Honestly this episode had the herculean job of living up to the impossible hype that last week's episode. For me it was just as great, the frame of Kenpachi as a kid chopping up the meteor teared me up ngl

This cour I feel like this episode was my favorite. It felt like one of the older bleach episodes
My heart is still racing . That episode held me from beginning to the end .
I think the space scene could have been longer bc I think that should have been a little more impactful
Literally gonna rewatch the fight its only been a few hours
This episode is def in the top 5 bleach episodes

First time I watched it, it's so good. But watching it the second time I actually liked it even more!
I loved this episode, the only thing I don’t particularly like is the removal of the fact that gremmy was locked up for assuming most of his life. It removes the huge reason gremmy was able to be defeated. I am glad Pepe wasn’t in the episode though.
It also removes why gremmy acted like he did, so many anime onlys are probably confused on why gremmy was happy while fighting kenpachi
I feel like they should start leaving out either the op or ending credits to have more time
They removed the ending for Rukia's fight, but not for this one. I'm really confused by what the animators think is a priority episode and what isn't.
Couldn’t agree more they need to do that more often. I don’t know what their limitations are as to why they don’t do that more often.
As much as I enjoyed this ep. I agree about the death of Gremmy. When I saw it earlier today, I remembered seeing more detail and in regards to his size or muscle prior to his death.
