Mid 80s today. Poconos Pennsylvania. I want to thank you so much for your channel. Came across you in February and have been watching ever since. I set up a kraky tower with my husband thinking I was batsh7t. He said if it worked he would be amazed. Well he has been amazed. He loves explaining to everyone that asks how it works.

Hi Mike, I'm in the middle of a Kratky project, and after cut-melting holes in my 5 gallon bucket lids, (using a pattern I made from a '2022' $Tree Pool Noodle), when I went to put in my 'Pool Noodle Slices' which I cut from a '2023' $Tree Pool Noodle, I noticed the holes were somewhat too loose, so I double checked and sure enough, $Tree has shrunken the width of their Pool Noodles, (more shrinkflation). I can see this being a problem for anyone using containers which were cut or melted in previous years. Thankfully I still had some of the plastic pieces which I cut-melted out, so I was able to melt bits of plastic back onto the newly cut-melted holes /the 5 gallon bucket lids, to make them a little more snug fitting, so they'd not fall through from the weight of my tomato or pepper plants, etc..

Thanks for the heads up. You can also add to the pool noodle with another little slice.

92.8 high today, feels like temp of 105. A little cooler than yesterday here in NC. I like Garden like a Viking, he has an amazing jungle in his house! I have learned a lot from him that I plan to use when I move.

Hey Mike, something interesting I discovered that might help others. After taking your advice on lighting, my plants started growing but still very slow and just seemed stunted. Very little growth was being observed. Perplexed, I did some research and discovered we have very very hard water. We are high calcium and other minerals which I suspected was throwing off my mixture and making it too strong. We are using the 20-20-20 you recommended. I decided to dilute it by half of what the label stated and try again. I set up one planter with full strength and one at half strength and left them alone for 3 days. After 3 days, the half strength started taking off! The full strength was basically unchanged and still look stunted. I don't have any complicated testing equipment to see what my specific levels are but I think it was too intense at full strength. Anyway, I thought my experience might help others who have hard water and may not be getting good results. Maybe try different levels of dilution to see what works good with your water. Thanks Mike for all you do, you have been very inspiring!!

It was only in the early 80's today but I was sitting outside and started feeling overheated so I had to go back inside. I don't mess with synthetic fertilizer. I'm a traditional gardener and I have had two failed hydroponic attempts but I'm determined to keep trying. I watch this other hydroponics/traditional gardener and he uses compost tea, worm castings, seaweed and epsom salt as his hydroponic solution.
