I had her growing up. I’m now 40. I bought a new in box THB for $170 last year. She still has her crimps and looks great.

The re-release or reproduction was really cute She was pretty spot on
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE FULL VIDEO. To my knowledge the 1987 to 2000 dolls with curly and crimped hair had this texture. The Streaght hair ones did not. My 1996 Avon Spring Petals Barbie has this texture, and I didn't know how to tame it, so this helps me SO MUCH! And You did such a great job on her hair. ☺️ she looks like she just came right out of the Commercial! And that's some skill!

I would really really like to see a video explaining the hair types and how to tell what type they are, and tutorials on how to wash and restore those types! I have a bunch of monster high dolls that I found from close to 10 years ago that need restoring, but I REALLY don't want to do anything wrong and break the dolls!

Your hair washing videos really helped me in washing my dolls. I got two Rainbow High dolls when they were in clearance and they had some quality issues. I followed your tutorial and now they look good although the Cher one lost her curls, but the looser curls look nice on her so it wasn’t a total loss.❤️

This is super awesome I forgot about her I definitely had one and I had the mini McDonald's version of her as well. The one I had was from a thrift store her her dress was torn and frayed and it made it more punk rock/ grunge and it looked really cool if she wore jeans underneath it

people use kanekolon for extensions. Mattel probably stopped using it to cut corners and save money. I am a geriatric millennial and had this doll (and many MANY other barbies bc my mom spoiled me). This is still probably one of my favorites if not my absolute favorite.

When I was six (I was born after the year 2000), I got an old Barbie + Ken set with old dolls (Probably from the 80s or 90s… Barbie looked like this but it’s definetely not the same), but I didn’t realize that they were old, expensive and not for normal playing.
It was an expensive doll for sure, because it was like new, had diamond eyes (!!! rhinestones, but glass), a little ring for the finger, …
So, I lost their accessories, their clothes and damaged the hair… 🤪😬
I just got her at an auction for $40. I had her in the first grade and took her to show and tell. Im 40 now. I cant wait to fix her up!
I was 4 when she came out, so I was THE target audience back then XD. Shame, we didn't have that kind of money. But I got a Birthday edition Barbie (white, blue and pink) several years later. This doll is still hot though. THE HAIR, omg)

My mum had this doll as a kid, and my gran kept her for me and my sister to play with in the early 2000s. I wish I looked after her. She lost her body a long time ago, and her hair was a matted mess. We used to just play with her head 😳

I love restoring Barbie dolls, this is what I do for relaxing..I scoop out marketplace and Salvation Army for dolls so I can do my thing.

The Iconic Totally Hair Barbie, I was 10 when she came out and when the commercial came out my sister and I lost it and begged for the Ken and Barbie for Xmas I was lucky to get the Ken, my sister got The original blue mermaid barbie instead. When I started colleting again 10 years or so I wanted her so badly then remembered there was a whole line, the hunt for them began, Ken, Barbie Blonde/Brunette easy Skipper ish but Courtney and The Stefie face mold took forever to get! Alas I managed to get them all. I rerooted all the girls with human hair no bangs but I crimped it also and that took forever, I managed to get doubles out of all of them also because I wanted a blonde Steffie face also, I plan to reroot the others at some point! You did a great job with her!

I thrifted this Barbie together with the brunette steffie face one called Whitney. The blonde one has had a haircut and I plan to reroot her hair and make it look as close to the original hair as possible
I still think Jewel Hair Mermaid Barbie has longer hair than totally hair barbie cuz the hair from the mermaid Barbie goes passed her feet but there still amazing dolls :)
