For those that do not know, 2pacs mom, Afeni put a 5yr freeze on this film and tried to stop it from coming out before she died. There was no mention of Makaveli, no explanation of Tupac's Thug Life code, no take on his activism nothing.... sad
I'm actually pissed at how little views this video has. The breakdown was detailed and accurate and the screen definition crisp af, I can see this nigga's nose hairs like tf??
I swear...I left the theater feeling duped. 20 years after his death and I feel like he was murdered all over again. He went from a student at B.S.A to a fuckn thug in 10 minutes. Booooo. Fucking BOO!!
Josue Rodriguez resurrection is the shit and Pac tells the whole movie himself like narrates it and it's crazy cuz he taking bout himself in past tense and telling you the story about his life it's amazing for him to have done that he definitely knew they was gonna kill him
Zimberly Todd right, he long over do for a biopic movie. he got so money damn documentries sad that it's better then the movie itself. which wasn't bad but wasn't great neither.
Review is 100% on point. VERY, VERY disappointing movie. Pac deserved(s) so much better than this. The biggest offense of the movie though, that you didn't mention, was the ENDING. Let me explain. The death scene was treated like the film makers were apathetic towards Pac's death. He gets shot, dies, and the movie ends. There is NO hospital footage, no news casts, no gathering of fans, or reaction from important people in his life or the hip hop world in general. And, that gospel music playing is epic fail. I felt no emotion during this scene, because his char (and all the characters in the movie period) were so underdeveloped that you didn't connect with them in anyway. I should have been in near tears during this scene, but instead I felt nothing. A damn shame, cause Pac's death was TRAGIC. Even his death scene in Notorious was better than this movies ending. Eazy's death scene in SOC was much better also - when it was announced he got AIDS you felt like something tragic happened, because you connected to his character and his story. It was a genuinely sad scene. Not the case with Pac's death scene in this movie. When Pac' got shot in 96', it was like the Cuban Missile Crisis of hip hop. But this movie treats that unforgettable and dark moment as if it was just any other day. :-(
FireIceTalon you said it perfectly. The characters were mere shells of the actual people. Yeah man, The death scene was disappointing as well. They didn't show the importance or significance of anything that happened.
The one scene they show him in in straight outta Compton brought so much emotion. Reading all of the reviews, I won't get that emotion from this movie if I watch it...
Rakim#1Goat R., you sound ignorant as hell. I know people of all ages, colors and economic backgrounds who loved Pac, were huge fans and we're devasted by his death. So GTFOH with your poor boy mentality.
I don't think Pac ever performed "Hail Mary" while he was alive either but their was a scene in the movie where he did the Makaveli album didn't come out until after he died.
When i was watching this at the movies i said that to my friend that he never performed this. I may have been young during that time but i remember perfectly well that he never perform that.
"If only the writers put half as much effort into creating the film as Tupac did his rhymes, this would have been a better film." Wow. Eloquent review of a disappointing depiction.
Until this day I've never wasted my time watching that movie because I grew up in the 90s and I knew 2pac. That movie was just trying to cash in and never respected him enough to tell the truth about 2pacs life.
Toni Toussaint straight up it is not a coincidence that someone like Pac who EVERYONE wants to see a REAL movie of especially the fans like me who know sooooooo much about Pac I wanna see them go even deeper do a 3 and a half hour movie like they did for Titanic lol str8 up but nah no way so many people want a true Pac movie it would make so much money but yet they wait and wait and wait... it's cuz Pacs mom wasn't having that shit and now she not here to protect her sons legacy anymore smh at least Jada kept it real and alot of others still out here not letting Pac get punked. "Niggas talk alot of shit but that's after I'm gone, cuz they fear me in the physical from" #RIP #GOAT #TupacAmaruShakur 🔱👑🔱👑🔱👑🔱
Balenciaga Goyard your a dumb ass even if it was being recorded his mom was suing them she died now the movie is out.. "use your head, think" as my dawg Pac would say
Daniel Dyminiski your a dumb ass because afeni let the Producers do the movie so there was no SUING no LAW SUITS and a lot of light. Apparently that's quote DID NOT GO THROUGH YOUR SKINNY ASS BRAIN
Don Mars whatever playa the movie didn't do Pac justice and it was fucking lame compared to what could have been done. Jada says it lies and doesn't support fuck that MY OPINION the movie didn't do Pac his justice and his mom would be pissed I garuntee
I waited for this movie all my life and was hugely disappointed i thought i would be the only one disappointed until i saw all over internet and social media everyone felt the same way lol some one good needs to re boot that movie
they made this movie for the young kids to fuck up Pacs legacy but if people just watch "2pac Resurrection" it's a documentary but Pac narrates it himself and it's incredible... but great video bro you were on point bout everything Pac of all people deserved much better!! ✌
It was a disrespectful peace of garbage. Give it 10 years and make another Tupac film, but do it right. You know who I'd love to make a Tupac movie? Steve McQueen. That man is a visionary director.
The Mother Flickers Oh my bad 🤗 I forgot for a sec bout him...brain farts happen...now that said I was thinking Mel Gibson or Quentin Tarantino & just the one day...like what everyone was doing at that time when Pac got shot the 2nd time...like some JFK Oliver Stone Shit but Not so fuckn blurred...that way you can see all the possibilities...where he might be or not dead....Pac lives 4ever!
I'm glad somebody voiced everything that was wrong with the movie. Even the trailer was bad. Over-the-top acting, bad script, bad directing, not enough Tupac music. This really needs to be remade.
I agree with you bro this movie was a big disappointment, I can't believe the directer Benny boom and Lt are happy with this sloppy and clumsy movie, they should off got f Gary gray to it.
Gary gray is a great director but it seems like no one else is allowed to even touch this movie about pac except Hutton and Boom ( due to legal issues) which is sad.
Complete failure .. i think it's the responsibility of his fans to protect his legacy from a producer who wanna run away with a dollar ...i still blame the community for not defending and fires back heavily until they make a proper one
This is one of the best and most HONEST reviews I seen. I knew it wasn't gonna do Pac justice when the director said they filmed it in 48 days.... It wasn't a genuine project... I hope they just stop disgracing this man's name and let him Rest In Peace.... 🙏🏽
I gotta be honest, you are 💯 correct. It was definitely rushed and it saddened me because the film makers pulled a "Dragon Ball" move. At this rate, I'd can't wait to see John Singleton's version.
great video. I told my husband after the movie that I was disappointed. the movie was all over the place and nothing flowed together as far as the events of his life and career. if It weren't for my knowledge of tupac prior to seeing the movie then I probably would've left confused. like you said it didn't go into depth about anything so it definitely wasn't a movie to showcase his legacy. I even told my husband that the presentation literally felt like they just watched a bunch of interviews on TH-cam and threw together some random scenes. there were multiple scenes that were word for word copies of interviews I've seen on here.
Great review! Exactly how I felt. Also, the beginning with Afeni, Mutulu, the black Panthers, all could been more developed. It all felt rushed and jumped around so fast that you couldn't care about any of the characters or what was happening.
Once I got past my emotions about the songs and just seeing him portrayed ( yes I was crying and rapping the lyrics in the movie). I 1000% agree wit u..
Wow! found your channel by complete accident. I loved your honest feedback, confidence, and polished commentary. As a Tupac "Superfan", and recently attending a showing of All Eyes On Me, I felt that it was a bit insulting to those of us who would view Pac's music as the soundtrack of our youth. It felt rushed and incomplete! I know it is a lot to fit into two hours, so maybe the producers and director of the film should have considered maybe the small screen, something along the lines of what BET did for New Edition. I was determined to get out and support the film. However, I think the interest may have been more about making money, instead of depicting a little more accurate account of this Icons life.
Andrea Lacey Thank you for the wonderful complement. You are speaking right now. It was a total rush job. There wasn't enough love put into this production. Many folks are saying that it should've been a mini series. I agree, just with different writers and directors.
Absolutely!! I have seen some bad biopics as of late, But to refer to this film as the "True", "Untold Story", Well damn!! you can Google Tupac and get the same info that you saw in 2 hours and 20 minutes of this movie. thanks for your response, now i'm going to enjoy my afternoon off, and binge watch your videos! Lol. Blessings
Thank you for articulating all that I have been trying to tell people and more. This movie was such a disappointment to a true icon, legend and genius. I expected to walk out of the theatre devastated because of what we all knew would happen by the end; instead I was numb and dumfounded by the shallowness of the script and the under development of the characters, especially Tupac. The writers, director and editor made bad choices in creating this film. Obviously Tupac's story was too much, too complex for them to produce and they should have left this story alone for somebody else.
Patrice Pinder I appreciate your response. I agree wholeheartedly. The creation of this film should've been given to a group of creators who cared, loved, and respected the memory of Tupac far more than they did.
good solid review bruh...I couldnt has said it any better. The ending of the movie was also so abrupt...nothing about him in the hospital which could have been emotionally riveting. I think the writers and producers were more careful about offending ppl associated with Tupac who are still alive...ppl who were his enemies and so on to the extent that they watered down the movie.
I LOVE Tupac and to be honest, this movie was alright, like a 7 or 7.5 in my opinion. After watching this video I agree with most of what you say. One thing that I forgot about was yeah, Pac didn't tell Jada bye or anything lmao... How could I forget that!? But when I saw it in the movie nothing came into my head like "that ain't right" lol
I honestly knew little to nothing about Tupac aside loving his music. What do you all suggest I look at (articles/books/interviews) to learn more? Obviously a biopic isn't going to be able to capture much, and Tupac is dead so he couldn't help but I definitely wanna learn more.
best review I seen so far. and yeah I felt the same way. just took it for what it was. I do think Demetrius did a good job tho.... BTW what camera do you use to shoot your videos ? nice quality.
This movie was a very disappointment ,it seems like the people who did the movie didn't really care as much. I think resurrection is the best for 2pac because it's told by his own words. RIP Pac
Thanks for the information. Now I can watch it on a deeper level. Too bad you gave it such a low score, but now i want to see what you were talking about.
I enjoyed your review and I agree with you. I went into the movie knowing it probably wouldn't properly document Tupac's life and career. The movie failed to properly capture Tupac but I still enjoyed the movie anyway bc it entertained me.
I ain't picking sides, but according to LT & Benny Boom the film was supposed to be at least 4 hours long, but the distribution company who help fund the movie told them to cut it to a two hour and 30 minute film. So they showed as much as they could in the film.
We should of expected this, these were the same folks suing his mom over this movie. Now I see why!😡 fuck this movie! #RestInPowerAfeniShakur✊🏾 #BoycottAllEyezOnMe #SupportAmaruEntertainment
For those that do not know, 2pacs mom, Afeni put a 5yr freeze on this film and tried to stop it from coming out before she died. There was no mention of Makaveli, no explanation of Tupac's Thug Life code, no take on his activism nothing.... sad
Tombstone Dreams word
The thug life was fully explained you didn't see the movie idiot
Tombstone Dreams idc I still liked this film
Epitome- eh pita mee
@@domjoseph2007 i can't believe i just saw your comment, and no, it was just stated that it was an "acronym."
2pac should have his own Netflix series. A 2 hour movie is not enough on his life
I'm actually pissed at how little views this video has. The breakdown was detailed and accurate and the screen definition crisp af, I can see this nigga's nose hairs like tf??
HoneyHo Nose hairs tho?!??!?!? Lmao 😂 Thank you for the compliment!! Please share this video when you get a chance!
HoneyHo Yeah, I'm new to his channel, but it is lit. I will be sharing.
I looked close and i didnt see any nose hair
it was a joke lmao 💀
MasonDiction Entertainment I'll share it on my Twitter
This should've been a mini series
Dou Ahou I agree. It would've been great on Netflix with a better director and writers
MasonDiction Entertainment I agree
Dou Ahou afuckinggreed
Dou Ahou On HBO. IMAGINE THAT! How about letting David Simon (The Wire creator) make it too!
New Edition Story killed it with their mini series, 3 parter all 1h30. Fit perfectly
This dude should've been helping them make this movie
Strange Wonder thank you for your kind words. 🤘🏾🤘🏾
Strange Wonder he said:"epeh-tome"....wat do you mean
Strange Wonder yo lol facts

Tupac Resurrection...that's all I can say
peace
Josue Rodriguez resurrection is the shit and Pac tells the whole movie himself like narrates it and it's crazy cuz he taking bout himself in past tense and telling you the story about his life it's amazing for him to have done that he definitely knew they was gonna kill him
Josue Rodriguez where can I see this?
i found one on youtube but with italian subtitles instead
Josue Rodriguez fuck resurrection , they spliced his words together to make him say things that he didn't even say.
Josue Rodriguez tupac assassination 3 battle for compton.
i knew it was going to be trash.
super sad tho Pac deserves so much more
Zimberly Todd Agreed. He's needs another movie with better writers.
MasonDiction Entertainment john singleton supposed to do it but he bowed out
Ntiense Udo
John Singleton want a scene with pac getting raped in jail when it was only a cavity check
Zimberly Todd right, he long over do for a biopic movie. he got so money damn documentries sad that it's better then the movie itself. which wasn't bad but wasn't great neither.
fact they rush it 91 to 96 boom that it

blkjmzbnd007 me either. I tried to find a clip but only the hologram from SXSW came up.
+blkjmzbnd007...that irritated me too.
The funniest part was the whole audience was rapping along with him. Lol
blkjmzbnd007 yeah that was another part of the movie i was like naw
When i was watching this at the movies i said that to my friend that he never performed this. I may have been young during that time but i remember perfectly well that he never perform that.

I don't think it was a true story only because they wait till the death of his mother to create this.

it's so dope that your from Baltimore fam! and I had to share the video, keep up the great content.
The people who were involved with this 'film' should be charged with crimes against humanity.
It was a disrespectful peace of garbage. Give it 10 years and make another Tupac film, but do it right. You know who I'd love to make a Tupac movie? Steve McQueen. That man is a visionary director.
The Mother Flickers Steve McQueen is Dead...
Not the actor. The director. You know, the guy who did 12 years a Slave? Shame? hunger?
The Mother Flickers Oh my bad 🤗 I forgot for a sec bout him...brain farts happen...now that said I was thinking Mel Gibson or Quentin Tarantino & just the one day...like what everyone was doing at that time when Pac got shot the 2nd time...like some JFK Oliver Stone Shit but Not so fuckn blurred...that way you can see all the possibilities...where he might be or not dead....Pac lives 4ever!
The Mother Flickers plus I always thought Tyler Perry did 12 years... my bad 🤗
Tyler Perry ain't that talented....
I'm glad somebody voiced everything that was wrong with the movie. Even the trailer was bad. Over-the-top acting, bad script, bad directing, not enough Tupac music. This really needs to be remade.
Lol that Cliff Notes comment was hilarious
Also that Voldemort metaphor was spot on
Smh what a missed opportunity
Josie thank you 😂😂😂I was flabbergasted at how bad it was
This is a good review you are absolutely right
Your first lines were the exact words i said to myself after watching this so called movie, confused, a bad dream.... i can't shake it off!!
I agree with you bro this movie was a big disappointment, I can't believe the directer Benny boom and Lt are happy with this sloppy and clumsy movie, they should off got f Gary gray to it.
Adam Nashabe yeah f.gary gray would of did it justice
Gary gray is a great director but it seems like no one else is allowed to even touch this movie about pac except Hutton and Boom ( due to legal issues) which is sad.
i felt the same way bro. Didnt feel the movie like i feel his music....2pac can NEVER be duplicated RIP!
wow....I was actually planning on watching this. Great review bro!
Ben Hinson thanks Ben! Much appreciated 🙌🏾

I gotta be honest, you are 💯 correct. It was definitely rushed and it saddened me because the film makers pulled a "Dragon Ball" move. At this rate, I'd can't wait to see John Singleton's version.

You sound like the guy in the intro of the Makaveli album.
no1 can tell the story better then PAC R.I.P
Great review!!
I knew you were from Baltimore within the first few seconds. Your accent 😍❤
Bro I like this you have almost
Poetic flow to your speech
best review I seen so far. and yeah I felt the same way. just took it for what it was. I do think Demetrius did a good job tho.... BTW what camera do you use to shoot your videos ? nice quality.
Quarri White thanks fam. I appreciate that. I use a canon T3i with a 30mm sigma lens. Please share this vid when you get a chance. 🙌🏾

2pac is my favorite New York Artist 👨🎨 he will always be an Amazing Rapper in the city 🌃 the city of New York never sleeps 🛌
Tekknowgerl no problem at! That movie did him a disservice. It hurt my soul

First time viewing this channel, but as soon as you said "Tewwwpac" I knew you were from Baltimore.
they were mad disrespectful w that biopic man
thank you great video great reviews i knew this would happen just based off the trailer such a disappointment
The film should have been a mini series
as a Maryland native I FEEL YOU!!
Goddamn your analysis was spot on 👍🏾
great review bro
SLUGOTHEPRINCE thanks fam
I enjoyed your review and I agree with you. I went into the movie knowing it probably wouldn't properly document Tupac's life and career. The movie failed to properly capture Tupac but I still enjoyed the movie anyway bc it entertained me.
I just wish they would re- do this movie.. It should have been a mini series on a paid subscription channel
I ain't picking sides, but according to LT & Benny Boom the film was supposed to be at least 4 hours long, but the distribution company who help fund the movie told them to cut it to a two hour and 30 minute film. So they showed as much as they could in the film.
man, i love your videos if I had a job and a constant flow of cash I'd donate to see more vids more often keep up man!
Kid Nice Dynamite thanks bro! I appreciate you watching. When you get a chance please share this video!
We should of expected this, these were the same folks suing his mom over this movie. Now I see why!😡 fuck this movie!
