How you connect these speakers to the amplifier depends on the capabilities of your amplifier. The Pioneer TS-A300B is a 2 ohm woofer. If your amplifier is capable of 1 ohm operation you can connect the woofers in parallel to the amplifier. If your amplifier is capable of 2 ohm or 4 ohm operation, I recommend to wire the subwoofers in a series and connect to the amplifier. The Pioneer GM-D8701 is a great 1 ohm amplifier for these speakers. You can learn more about it here: th-cam.com/video/-Uq25Goo0sU/w-d-xo.html You can find more videos on Pioneer's TH-cam Channel here: th-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics
I recommend to wire the Pioneer TS-A300B directly to one channel (right or left in stereo mode) of your amplifier. Don't use bridged mode on the amp. There are two reasons for this: 1. The Pioneer TS-A300B is a 2 ohm subwoofer. 2. The KAC7252 is stable at 2 ohms in stereo mode. The amp is stable at 4 ohms in bridged mode. If you try to run it at 2 ohms bridged, the amplifier will very likely overheat and shut down. Choose the right or the left channel and wire the subwoofer directly to the amp. This will show the amplifier 2 ohms and it will deliver about 250 watts RMS to the woofer. Please be sure to use an LPF, or Low Pass Filter, crossover on your in-dash receiver or on the amplifier. There is a LPF crossover built into the amplifier. I recommend to set the crossover at 80Hz and if possible a slope of 12 dB per octave. Roll the gain control on the amplifier back so you don't hear any distortion. I recommend to put the woofer in your trunk, or cargo area, with the sloped side of the box against the back seat of the vehicle and the woofer pointing toward the back. Experiment with different placement for best performance. You'll know it's there. And it will be very reliable. It will work great. If you want more bass, consider getting a 2nd Pioneer TS-A300B. Wire one to the right channel on the amp and wire the 2nd one to the left channel.
The Pioneer TS-A300B is a 4 Ohm dual voice coil woofer pre-wired inside the box at 2 ohms. The nominal impedance measured at the connections on the side of the box is 2 Ohm. I recommend the Pioneer GM-D8701 mono amplifier seen here: th-cam.com/video/-Uq25Goo0sU/w-d-xo.html It's 500 watts RMS at 2ohms and the Pioneer TS-A300B is a 2 ohm woofer with 500 watts RMS power handling. Perfect fit. Another perfect fit is the Pioneer GM-DX871 mono amplifier. Also 500watts RMS at 2 ohms. You can learn more about it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Amplifiers/GM+Digital+Series/GM-DX871 If you are building a system, please consider the Pioneer GM-DX9705. This is a 5 channel amp and it's a great fit for this woofer. It can run your front and rear speakers and it will rock the TS-A300B woofer. So I bought this setup and paired it up with my kicker 600.1 and gain is barley 1/4 and everything else is turned down and the speaker starting smelling is it defective or what? Smell doesn’t go away and I haven’t even pushed it hard
The Pioneer TS-A300B is a 2 ohm woofer with an RMS power handling rating of 500 watts. The kicker 600.1 is a 600 watt RMS amp at a 2 ohm load. This amp can push the speaker 100 watts past it's nominal power handling limit. You've got to be careful or the amplifier will destroy this speaker. If you hear distortion, you've got to roll the amp gain back or you'll damage or destroy this speaker. And, if you are hammering a nail and you hit your thumb, don't blame the hammer. Blame the person holding the hammer. If the speaker is playing, I don't think it's defective.
