I’ve had this in Bhutan, And oh man! Bomb flavours to go with steamed rice. Every restaurant has their own way of making it in Bhutan but every other place is worth ordering for.
The authentic recipe demands cheese made from yak that smell like rotten.. But u can also use normal cheese, Any cheese.. Or you can also use creamy milk
I live near Bhutan. So I eat it most of the times and there are many varieties of Datshi. I personally like the mushroom Datshi . According to me you have to add a little milk. Still the way you made was also good 👍🏻. I love your videos 🥰🥰
With rice atleast that's how bhutan, Nepal and north-eastern Indians eat But do try it with other things too who knows u might just discover a new delicious combination
In south indian same dish chilli salt fermented curd little oil ..sun dry 3 days under heavy sun and eat it with meals 😅 Mor molaga ,challa mirapakaya, North india same recipe pickled Feels world is small place n our brothers n sisters are just looking differently with same human dna just like thesse changes in recipes
Cheese has always existed in most countries. Processed cheese is a new thing but cheese isn't. They probably made cheese with yak milk or cow milk before.
In Kerala, we have similar preparations. Chillies, potato, coconut milk make potato milk stew. Chilles, ash gourd and coconut milk make 'olan'. White sauce pasta sause also might taste somewhat similar. Very simple, but rich flavour.

But don’t they traditionally use Tibetan Yak cheese? Which is more of a Central Asian, North Asian thing? Something that’s literally NOT found anywhere in India?
Still no dish can beat Indian dishes🫡. People are getting blind today . Every Bhutanese eat this dish that why there were most unprofessional people in Bhutan even government official don't have any professionalism in their office
It depends on type of chilli you use. If you use bhutanese big green chilli's then it's not spicy and spicy level is medium. However ,if you use small size chilli then it will be spicy but overall the taste is perfect 👌.
Who is here after Deepika.........😅
Lol me 😂
Entire TH-cam intact
The whole world ...though we have been having this in NE for ages

Do we use the regular processed cheese..or do they have some particular kind of cheese in Bhutan for this recipe?
Usually, we either use cottage cheese or the Amul cheese slices.
Don't try rotten cheese it smells disgusting
Other than that use any kind of cheese it could be cow's yak's or buffalo's
The authentic recipe demands cheese made from yak that smell like rotten..

an extraordinary dish that took me by surprise. It was a symphony of flavors, one of the most exquisite tastes I have ever experienced."
It is so comfort food and make you crave more🥰😍
Finally someone cooked properly 😊❤
No no 😂😂😂
You can also use milk instead of cheese if u don't have cheese..
Pour milk instead of cheese..let it thicken..it's consistency would be like cheese...
I am Nepali we usually add milk but nowadays its a trend to use cheese
@@vidhishahi3570trend haina hau mula, tyo bhutan ko national dish ho

@@Dedede_204 no its not like that the traditional way of making ema datsi is with milk, nepali and tibetan dishes were similar
People of Kerala make the same preparation, using chillies and coconut milk.
A slight spelling twist to "Emma Dashti" would make a lovely Al Jazeera news presenter.

Please tell me your version of the recipe. You're a local, so it has to authentic❤
Yes, if you know, please let us know how to make Qewa datshi, the potato version
You don't have to stir the chilly ,you can add everything at once cover it and cook it untill the chilly is soften ,it will taste far better this way.
Oh my god!!! Wt a beautiful flavour it was!!! I just ate it

We have different version..using makkhan which is stored to make ghee...with chilli..salt..pyaj..it tasted same
Is it very spicy?
You could say it's mild. It depends on what type of chili you're using
Do you eat the chillies. I don’t see much gravy or liquid to eat with something
Is it spicy?
Is it prepared with any particular chilly variety?!
Amazing 😮 but I sneezed a million times while preparing this dish

Cheese has always existed in most countries. Processed cheese is a new thing but cheese isn't. They probably made cheese with yak milk or cow milk before.
And paneer is also a type of cheese.
What kind of cheese?
I'll try this
mans if u add potato it's kewa datshi.
if u add mushroom it's mushroom datshi. you can add any vegetable but same recipe. it taste awesome.

It's incomplete, it requires churpi( A type of cheese found in Tibet and Himalaya region , including Sikkim and nepal ) it's made curing butter milk
What do you have it with?
I've had it before and it's delish
Amazing
What about the chillis? Is it normal chilly or less spicy chilly?
What cheese do u use😊
What is it best served with?
Rice.
You can try potato datsi with only a bit of chilli if u can’t handle the heat.
Which cheese goes well with this 🤔?
What type of chilli is this? Is it regular spicy chilli??
Well i add potatoes and daikon (ofc boiled )
And instead of green chillies i use dalle
Instructions unclear. I died from spiciness.
Acidity ready to attack..😂
Is it okay if we don't add garlic will UT affect majorly
Can't add garlic as we are jain so
Also u missed the key information. What type of chillies and cheese..makes all the difference

I thought you had to mash the chillies?
Won't it be very spicy.... with so many green chillies
Which cheese is used in the recipe?
Chilli and Cheese - are my Samanth and Rachel 😭💞💞
That's basically cheese chilli toast which is why it tastes so good. Get it?
Which type of cheese can we use?
Don’t you have to use chhurpi for this?
No Oil?
Isn't datshi like the authentic cheese thats only available in Bhutan....so why is she making it with processed cheese?

Yuck who eat chillies cheese😢😢😢 so much chillies ????
Many indians like this type of combination. But, more milky gravy type, not this much chilly together. It's nothing but ur white sauce pasta sauce.
add cheese to anything it automatically tastes better nothing special just another babasir dish
