Thing I love most about your Flyfishing vids is the realism. Other Colorado Fly Fishing channels make it seem like every cast they are catching a monster and their fly selection is perfect from the first cast. Your videos are a lot more like most people's day on the water, mine included.
I really appreciate the kind words Chris! And I totally hear what you're saying. I watch other videos and people make it look so easy, when in reality we all have tough days on the water. Plus I am new to fly fishing so inevitably I make all kinds of mistakes and am still learning every time I go out. Even with the mistakes and tough days I love it out there and still want to share my experiences regardless of a fish hitting the bag or not. Thanks again for the comment and for watching, tight lines my friend!
Thank you for this comment! I am only a couple years into my fly fishing journey and I feel like every time I go out Im still learning and figuring out what Im doing haha so I really appreciate any advice! I got to work on my nymphing for sure and my fly selection, but like you said a wet net is all we can ask for at the end of the day!
You totally should man! I have been fishing pretty much my whole life but just took up fly fishing a couple years ago so I totally hear where you're coming from. Fly fishing takes more effort, plain and simple, but it also is soooo rewarding and I think really fascinating to be able to fish in a new way. I would recommend getting some used or cheap gear to start and watching plenty of youtube videos to learn (Im still doing this lol) or take our a guide if you can swing it. Good luck and tight lines!
The dream is super slow at the moment but fishable. I would suggest to really learn to focus on learning to tight line euro nymph with and without indicators. It will change your fishing game up here. Save the San Juan worms for when the water is running higher after a storm passes through and the water stains up.
@@DavidDoesStuff1 Anytime. I'm always around in those areas. Mostly from 11 Mile on up to the dream and middle forks of the Platte. Right now, the water is really difficult in most areas because of the runoff. Time to his the ponds!

Thank you thank you! I agree its an amazing place!
What area were u able to camp at? Eleven mile is always full unless u have a reservation and would love to get up there and fish soon!
Badger Flats Campground! Not too far away and a solid dispersed camping option

I've always wanted to flyfish there but haven't made it out yet. Looks fun!
Hopefully you can soon! It really is some beautiful land and a lot of fun to fish!

I've been spin fishing for the last year and have yet to get into fly fishing but planning to do so soon. How would you compare the two?

Those aren’t wasp nests, there barnswollow nests.
Oh snap no kidding! Very cool. Thanks for dropping some knowledge!
@@DavidDoesStuff1 forsure bud! Appreciate the video. I’ve lived up here most of my life and I’ve always wanted to see inside that place!!
Dude, Your reel is on backyards. Your should be cranking away from you not toward yourself. That reel is setup for a left hand retrieve
Ahhhh thank you lol. Finally got my reel on right now. Appreciate the help man, the learning curve never stops with fly fishing it seems
Because these vids it is over fished and crowded
Thats unfortunate, it is a beautiful place regardless!
Not true at all. The dream is well known, that's why its croweded. Not because of a video.
I was thinking this was a cool vid til I seen the spin reel , yuck
Lol was trying to not end the day empty handed! Appreciate you watching though!
@@DavidDoesStuff1 gotta get the skunk 🦨 lol
A for effort. Your reel is totally backwards
Yeeeahh wasnt my best look lol. I have since fixed my reel to be the right way. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
