@Raging Red this is probably like the informal meaning of bitch, which can be a insult, because it basicly means bad persons. In this case, we are probably using one of the informal meanings, that got "lighter", because some, not all, use it to call/talk to their friends. An example " Hi, bitch, how are you ? ", " I'm fine, bitch ". So, basicly people turn the word bitch to friend. Does that make sense?? I could explain it differently.
@Raging Red for what I know, she has(had?) some issues with feminism and has internilize misogyny. But we should remember that she got depressed and said she wanted to kill herself and everybody was critizing her for it; instead of helping her. Because is that what you should do, when you see someone who needs help, you help. You don't bitch her. Anyways, thankfully she didn't do it, because we know what it would happen, people would again glamorize suicide. About her lyrics, you can take any meaning from it. It can be a way to know that you're in trouble, identify what kind of sadness or whatever, I'm a new fan of her, so I may just be saying non sense. Besides, why would an action, personality, choices of a artist really chance that much your point of the music. There's like her meaning and your meaning and thousands of interpretations for you to just pick what pleases you.
In one of the earliest interviews in her career, Lana made it clear that she wasn’t interested in making music that was “just pop.” All these years later, as she’s now the industry’s most intriguing poet, Lana Del Rey creates genre-defying songs that can teach all of us something about vulnerability, human nature and society at-large.
This woman has a true gift. Something very few artists have. The ability to immerse the listener/viewer into her world and into her head without trying. She simply just does what she feels. The fact that her label and management let her put out a non pop 10 minute single shows that they truly believe in her as an artist and believe in self expression and that's so rare in the industry of labels treating artists as money making machines. She and Jack are putting out the record of a lifetime.
tjohnnie01 couldn’t agree more. She’s taking us to a place of imaginary freedom with her artistry every time. Makes us feel free for these few minutes. It just adds to this that her label lets her do whatever she wants. I think this day and age, this is what we need as music. It makes us quit from the real world for a few minutes.
Empressah yeah I heard that interview. Her managers were like "girl 🤦♂️" 😂 but I'm glad they believe in her enough to let her do what she pleases that's so awesome
My friend passed away 2 days before this music video came out, he loved Lana as much as I do... I'm sure he would've loved it. Now I can't stop thinking about him whenever I listen to one of Lana's songs.
Lana in an Interview with variety: “I played it for my managers and I was like, ‘yeah, I think this is the single I want to put out.’ And they were like, ‘it’s 10 minutes long. Are you kidding me?’ It’s called ‘Venice Bitch.’ Like why do you do this to us? Can you make a three-minute normal pop song? I was like, ‘well, end of summer, some people just wanna drive around for 10 minutes, get lost in some electric guitar.’” ❤❤❤❤
Ikr? I remember when it came out it was still summertime so I would put some headphones and be in the car with the window opened and the wind in my face and just feeling the vibe of summer. Luckily summer is almost here again
One thing I love about Lana is that she's not afraid to use current tech while conveying a nostalgic atmosphere. Like the clips where she's shining a phone light on her. If she wanted a "timeless" feeling she could've used any type of lighting instead of a phone that could give a very time-specific feeling to the video. But she's not afraid to ground herself in the time she's in, almost like she's turning her present into nostalgia for her future self to look back to. Idk if that makes any sense lol
Yesss it's like a time machine, people will see this in 20 years (if we won't be already extinct lol) and think wow this is so late 10s iphone 8 skinny jeans starbucks vcso girls pre covid core!!!
I think that's because when she falls in love she makes this one person the center of her life, she has this dellusional hope this person stands for everything that's beautiful and meningful in life, a perfect state of being that doesn't exist but she'll be chasing this heaven till the end. And in a way, we all do that, we all fall for it, long for it but deep inside we know our dreams are already gone, because what we crave has never existed and never will. We all have lost our great love.

I listened to this song when my mum was dying of cancer. The song made me feel sad but at the same time it allowed me to unwind from all the tragedy I was living. I was listening to this song obsessively, crying because I couldn't cope with the idea of not seeing my mother anymore. Now that she's gone, this song brings back to me all the sadness and melancholy that one can bear... But on the other hand, the song gives me comfort, it reminds me that I did everything I could for my mum, I was there looking after her til her last sigh. I miss you so much dear Mummy.....
what i’ve been saying ever since it came out. baffling how anyone could call this boring or “too long” but then, these are the same people who only know her for video games and brooklyn baby
Huge respect for putting out a 9 minute song, largely instrumental, with clean acoustic and electric guitars, fuzzy guitars, synths, real drums ,saxophone and whatnot, beautiful vocals and a nice tripy video! beautiful piece of pop music!
I'm really excited for this album. Was not expecting her to go this far left. When those fuzzy guitars came in and started to blend with the synths.... damn. Good to see someone at her level of success still experimenting and pushing the boundaries. Jack Antonoff seems to really augment Lana
What I love about this is that she wrote a 10 minute song and NAILED it. It's not two songs as one, it's legitimately 1 song that's 3 times longer than your average one. The fact that it keeps you engaged the entire time, and doesn't have a single weak spot is incredible.

@@WRLDofHRT That's what her work is about, going thru past hits and recycling lyrics and references. So far in this one, there is cohen, two cats in the yard while I light the fire, crimson and clover, kiss kiss bang... it goes on and on.
There is a hunger for good music in an industry where there is a lack of new ideas and no fresh air. And Lana is the proof for that. She is a living legend in our time. Her melancholic vibes and cinematic videos are the real meaning of the word Art.
There are Tons of very talented artists out here , but you're simply not gonna find them on mainstream radio. For example Angel Olsen is an ethereal lyricist goddess to be reckoned with and Charlotte Day Wilson vocals like butter and will melt your heart. There are thousands of good artists that are as talented, if not more, as Lanna is butt, you just have to dig baby, dig.
She probably made this herself. Have you seen You Can Be the Boss or Kinda Outta Luck? Her original vids were made with Chuck. That's it. No producers.
She and Princess Chelsea are probably my two favorite people in our generation because Lana worked with her sister and Chelsea worked with her boyfriend and they both got famous by TH-cam.
Ikr? I mean I sometimes listen to songs similar in lenght or even longer, (atmospheric black metal, for example, is a subgender w/ similar lenghts) and from my perspective, Lana's song reached a new dimension with her extended instrumental, truly a masterpiece!
This song feels like a summer love. You are just happy because you are breathing and you are next to someone you cherish. You don't want the winter to come because you are gonna miss that person's touch, their kiss and all the nights you spent talking...
i’m listening to this song as I’m coming down from my shroom trip. i just started listening to ride then just kept listening to Lana as my trip went on. i feel like I got my girlhood back after this trip, like that sweet and genuine curiosity that only you yourself can encapsulate. i feel like I’m able to really embrace and live the true artistic side that is me. Lana has always provided the sound, and it mixed with tripping is simply bliss.
I do psychedelics and have been listen to Lana’s music on them lately too, so I very much feel this comment. Cheers to you and your future exploring :)
@@AlexandraOlifirowicz The music is good for background, but the song's clip is boring, repetitive and tedious. Mariners Apartment Complex is better in both
ahhh WAE lana has a gift not many artists have. we’re honestly so blessed to be able to listen to her and her storytelling through her music. ❤️ (btw i see you everywhere lmao first on kpop related videos and now under lana’s music video😂)
Theres something called Weltschmerz ... its something everybody feels but cant really describe. its a melancholic feeling and she found a key to see the beauty in the struggle of this specific feeling.

@@kashunahar4643 not really, I think heroin is more dreaming - if that's a thing, like most lana's songs are (specially in honeymoon). This is true, hard core psychedelic like we've never heard before on lana's music, more psychedelic than this, only tame impala or the beatles. I love the direction she took on this record, I want more songs like this.
Obviously the born to die/paradise era is the Lana we know and love. The Lana we were introduced to. But I love that Lana changes up her vibe and character. Her style changes every album and I love it because when I go back to born to die, I get that same feeling that I got when I first listened. Same for UV, Honeymoon, etc. I love the variety she gives us. She doesn’t care about anything but the music and you have to admit she’s one of the only artists out there with the passion and love for the ART. As much as I would LOVE for another born to die vibe era, I don’t mind the changes. It makes BTD that much more special. And I get more excited for what’s to come!
Reminds of those 70s bands who dared to be creative with their songs, refusing to squeeze their music into 4 minutes packages. Thanks, Ms. del Rey, for being a breath of fresh air in a boring music landscape where seemingly similar rhythm machines, voices and melodies are used.
The thing with Lana is she cared less and less about mainstream success with every release she has done since "Born To Die" with the exception of "Lust for Life". Can you imagine this song being played on the radio? Hell no. But it's ok, I'll take her genuine artistry over the mainstream shit that gets overplayed these days. Love you Lana.
I wished she cared. Theres a void in my heart because I love music. Righg now, Drake, Cardi B, and BTS is doing me a favor. Gone are the days of Lady Gaga's Poker Face and Lana Del Rey's Born To Die. Sigh. This song makes me sad, especially at 3:21.
Lana is about art, not charts...all about conveying emotion and art...music is her brush and color. This is poetry at its best, emotion, pure, stripped down to the bone. Lana is Love. This song is divine reminder that there is still life in real music. Magical blend of surf guitars and Lanas voice.
I’M HEARING THAT PSYCH GUITAR FROM ULTRAVIOLENCE COMING BACK😩 This is LITERALLY a new era, and a new sound, It’s almost like neo-born to die, ultraviolence, lust for life with a remixed happy tone. I am here for this 100%
This song is almost 10minutes long and it deserves every second. I could feel myself get lost in it just listening to it build and build from that sweet opening. The instrumentals are gorgeous and can we take a minute to appreciate her lyrics, too? Even while her sound is changing and evolving (isn't it amazing to watch someone like Lana grow like this?), she still has that dreamy melancholy nostalgia vibe that's just so uniquely her. There's no one like Lana, I don't think. She's really doing her own thing, creating real art, unafraid to be different and vulnerable and giving us something enchanting. I'm very thankful.
I have to say... Lana Del Reys last two songs are just really warm and sincere... and touching. I'm mind blown. i'm so used to lana del rey aestetics, which i'll admit I dont always like. I am not a fan of born to die and some of the lyrics she had (especially on born to die if i'm honest), and this is just beautiful. Gonna buy this album. Not to mention the beautiful production. Thank you Lana. One of the most beautiful and uplifting songs I heard coming from you.
Yeah her music has just been evolving and improving since Born to Die (although Honeymoon wasn't really a smash hit for me tbh). In my opinion Ultraviolence is still her best album, but from what I've heard of Norman Fucking Rockwell so far it might be the one to finally change my mind.
@@Nicoleth That's ok. Taste in music is subjective, and i'm not a big pop fan to begin with. The cool thing is that she carries so much music, there's a place for pop ballads and also folk rock.
@@DanaKenney This is just outstanding to me, like certain songs (like "heroin", "yayo" and "when the world was at war"). It's really moving to me, seeing an artist developing and growing up, and doing something that is out of their comfort zone (or maybe - returning to their comfort zone and whats authentic to them).
And captured only in memory....no photos...or screenshots...recordings. nothing. Just a mind clearly devoted to those days gone by and clinging on to them 'cause one need not explain growing pains to past experiences and memories. :)
your comment just made my heart torn apart. mom passed in 2003. i remember intermittent sections of our sea side family holiday in 1995, i was 8 years old and didnt know i was in heaven then. life sucks sometimes.
I listened to this song in the car during my grandmother's funeral procession through Los Angeles. I know it has nothing to do with grandmas or funeral processions, but it felt perfect and fitting for the moment and gave a soundtrack to my melancholia... Thanks for your music, Lana.
I cannot begin to express the sense of loss or longing this song instills in me. There is just something so melancholy in the most beautiful way about it and I don’t get it. Like I’m experiencing the sad memories of someone else while listening.

She got her 4th Number 1 album here in the UK, so people are really loving her new album.
Her best song by far. Makes sense that this flies under the radar as most don’t appreciate great art.
what i’ve been saying ever since it came out. baffling how anyone could call this boring or “too long” but then, these are the same people who only know her for video games and brooklyn baby
Ugh god, she's really coming to save the music industry. I can't stop listening
This is the song of a sad person being happy forever.
EDIT: oh god 5k! Are you all ok :( ? (Am I?)
Celeste idk why this makes sense but it does
wow this sentence is beautiful
Man I felt this
i cried reading this
Because that one moment of happiness was recorded forever.
“If you weren’t mine I’d be jealous of your love” this line is just pure beauty
As long as this song exists, summer will never end.

I’m afraid Lana and us “wish that it would rain”...

Dyktiatuob said otherwise
What I love about this is that she wrote a 10 minute song and NAILED it. It's not two songs as one, it's legitimately 1 song that's 3 times longer than your average one. The fact that it keeps you engaged the entire time, and doesn't have a single weak spot is incredible.

There is a hunger for good music in an industry where there is a lack of new ideas and no fresh air. And Lana is the proof for that. She is a living legend in our time. Her melancholic vibes and cinematic videos are the real meaning of the word Art.
YES
You are insane for this comment and obviously not a musician.

This truly is one of the best songs of all time.
Queen E you got the reason
I agree with you but she sings always like the same in the other songs but here this is very different

Lana Del Rey is a National Treasure
