This brings back so many memories for me. I was born in Paterson in 1946, at St, Joseph Hospital. I can remember living on Getty Avenue about 4 blocks from St George Church and School. I attended Kindergarten there. In 1951, we moved to Wanaque. I attended Don Bosco Technical High School on Union Avenue, near Westside Park, from 1961 to 1965.
The Great Falls of Paterson is beautiful, and I remember Garrett Mountain and Lambert Castle. Garrett Mountain really stands out from Paterson. If someone is looking in this direction, it would be nearly impossible to miss seeing it. Paterson was known as the Silk City. My late father worked for a company that manufactured ribbons and seat belts back in the early and mid 1960s. I vaguely remember a street that was paved with red brick near the manufacturing plant. I've noticed that many of the red brick buildings that were involved in the textile industry are still existing today. Although, the textile industry is probably gone from Paterson.
I remember watching the Abbott and Costello Show on TV back in the 1950s. Lou Costello always mentioned Paterson, New Jersey as his hometown.
Thanks for the video Bart, and thanks for the memories.
