    I have a 7 year old GZ 1000 - it still charges to 98% - exremely happy with it.

    I purchased the Goal Zero 1500x and it failed over a short period of time. It has stopped accepting AC charge from it’s included charger. Doing some research, apparently it’s a common occurrence amongst other owners. For those thinking, it isn’t the charger as I’ve tested it on other units. It’s the Goal Zero unit itself and the internal charge controller that kicks the bucket. For the price, I expect much better. Thanks for the video!

    im a nomad carpenter, i camp out of my tool trailer, my main power supply is a yeti 1000x , this runs fan/light/phone, bike battery and speaker charging . ive had no charge issues with 110 supply or 100watt solar panel. my yeti 200x is used outside mostly for lighting and charging, it charges to 100% as well with 110 or solar. both these units are being charged with 110 ( honda2000) or the solar array (50/100) from goal zero.
    so far ive had no complaints in any way. i hope you worked it out with goal zero. .... HB

      Thank you for the comment! I still have the 500x that I talked about in this, and while it doesn’t get used too much, it hasn’t been an issue anymore. Goal Zero quit replying to my support email after the 3rd one I received STILL didn’t pull full capacity, so there is that. Which has me worried that if it DOES fail in any way while under warranty, I would probably be on my own to figure it out. I’m glad your equipment has been working well for you, and I hope it continues to!
      Once again, thank you for watching!

    Thank you for the video. I just added the 500x to my shopping cart. I watched this and now it’s out. I have a 2 week trip to Baja where they just had a hurricane and I’m unsure if our solar system is still there. So, now I’m looking at other systems.

    I just bought one I’m hope they have fixed the issues!!

      Hi, I just got my 3rd 500x back from warranty. While it's a bit better, it's still doing less than what the old 400 Lithium was able to do. Don't do it, go Anker or Jackery.

    Wow, that sounds like an amazing power station! As someone who loves outdoor camping and values quality family time, having a reliable power source is essential. The Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series seems like a great option with its massive capacity, fast recharging, and waterproof design. It's definitely worth considering for outdoor enthusiasts and RV lovers. Thanks for sharing!

    I was debating between Jackery or Goal Zero 500x, they gave me a good Military discount, 439.00 but I'm thinking Jackery now. thanks for the information. Big sale on Jackery BFCM tomorrow. Thanks again. 👊

    I just bought a 500X and brought it home to charge it. Oddly, blue light blinks and after an hour it shows 0 input when you press “INFO” button. I tried to reset and no change. Tried rear plug, front plug. Same. Completely dead. When I was unpacking, some seals were cut, meaning another customer probably returned it and Sportsman’s Warehouse sold it to me!!! WTF. I do not live close, but will return it tomorrow. I am probably never going to buy another Goal Zero product again.

    Just got my 2nd yeti 500x after the first died on me after connecting to a sherpa. And this replacement won't charge my sherpa via 60W pd port. And yes, I use a proper 60W pd usbc cable. Fed up with this, expensive, crap. Looking for an alternative brand to replace the yeti. It needs to be compatible with the goal zero boulder 100W solar panel.

    Finally, somebody reported an independent test! Can you say Chinese cells? Could you imagine the cost if Korean Samsungs were used? Probably 21700 or 18650s.

    • @TylerStartz
      @TylerStartz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No BS here! When I took one apart, they are definitely Chinese no name cells. I have a picture of them somewhere I’ll include when I get around to doing a follow up video.

    It appears goal zero stopped innovating about 4 or 5 years ago. The competition is far superior now. They don't even use litium iron phosphate cells and yet still think their stuff should cost double what others now offer. I have a eco flow river 2, 256Wh that charges fully in about and hour and its rated for 7000 charge cycles with LiFePo4 cells and it was only $225. It appears GZs partnerships with REI and batteries plus gives them enough under informed consumers for now, but like many other companies that fall behind tech tend go out of business when those partners jump ship for another brand that is more relevant.

    Hi Can I power a scooter with Yetti 500x?

    • @TylerStartz
      @TylerStartz  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's basically impossible to answer this without more details. The 500x can output 300w AC continuously. If the scooter requires 300w or less, yes. If more, no.

    Yeti 500x sucks. Used it once and it stopped taking a charge. This thing does not turn off. It stays on until it is completely drain and will not take a charge. Piece of shit. Got the Jackery and no issues.

    I have a GZ 1000 and 1400 and they are worthless. That’s why I switched over to Ecoflow and Bluetti, they are far more superior over Goal Zero.

    • @jgg204
      @jgg204 ปีที่แล้ว

      bluetti is garbage, and so is ecoflow. you can't even get through to customer service to RMA. horror story reviews on amazon where it takes people a month to even get a response from bluetti and then they make them pay for RMA shipping. no thanks. bluetti and ecoflow have to resort to crowdfunding to finance their companies

    • @TylerStartz
      @TylerStartz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m so far behind, my apologies. Work has been taking up the better part of my time. Honestly, the Goal Zero isn’t that bad. It’s a well built unit that I’m sure will last a long time. If you can get over the capacity discrepancy, you’d be fine with it and I’m sure it’d serve you well. I took my Anker on a camping trip and had trouble getting my solar panel to continuously stay connected to it due to the input port fitting really loosely. At this point it’s a toss up, and the easy of use of my Goal Zeros have won for me due to not caring lately, lol.
