I think you are underselling them on situational awareness part. Noise amplification on those is ridiculous. I can hear people talk in the other room that i cant without them. Maybe of course my hearing just getting bad lol But they are really good at it. And compared to something like Axil GS Extreme sound waaaay smoother and don't five you headache.
Is the sound quality the same as the comtac V? like the same situational direction and clarity? I am only find info that the main difference is the VI has 5 profiles and NIB but nothing about sound quality and situational awarness
Question: Would it be able to hear a difference in the recording sound of these models compared to XPI, since the price rises by almost double, no kidding. I recently got the XPI models for myself.
What is your experience with these in hot weather and daily use? I have had a set of Sordin Supreme Pro X for barely 2 months and sweat got through to the electronics. The PCB has corrosion and the metal screws have some rust. I let them air out for a bit and they seem to be fine so far, but likely compromised and wouldn't survive further water damage. They are water tight, but apparently only from the outside, and not waterproof. I emailed Sordin and they said corrosion due to user sweat is not covered under warranty. If I were to get another pair of electronic hearing protection these Comtacs are likely what I would get, but I am worried about how well they would hold up in that hard of usage.
Do these work with hearing impared like myself being half deaf in one ear, I know the xpi is because another ytbr showed the feature but still couldn't find anything when I searched myself n am wondering if others like these have that feature too, and what it's called?
Can the Hearing Defender VIs be upgraded to be comms capable? I'm also in the middle of Alaska so I'm wondering about what sort of batteries you run in cold weather

Great video here, thanks for evaluating the waterproofness and intelligibility of commands during noise.

I can confirm just received them and tested them I can hear literally everything going on in my apartment. It's actually nuts.

yes it can but it more cost effective to buy comtacs with comms instead. The conversation plus the downlead cable cost more then a complete set
I noticed there's a neck band version and headband version.
If I buy headband version do I need to cut the headband to mount it on helmet?
No, Peltor sells a helmet kit. You can just dismount the ear cups from the supplied headband.
