Ocon had problems with every teammate he had. And he has no raw talent back him up. The proof that Alpine is being headed by boneheaded managers is by signing Ocon for multiple years.
Everyone’s being quite unfair on Ocon down in the comments. He’s by no means a brilliant driver, but he’s also far from the worst. The fact that he was able to get a 2023 podium in a shite Alpine under Otmars terrible direction is proof enough of that. No leadership (although Otmar seemed pretty spineless but there seemed to be lacking a strong charismatic single team leader) and average drivers that can't work together. To think they could have Alonso and Piastri...
i think they're not the average of drivers, they both won a race (wich a lot of f1 driver never achieved) and with shitty cars at that. But they defenitly need to mature and be well managed. As Max said, at this level, everyone is a good driver, it all depend on the cars and little decision in extrem situations.

Tbf on him he had no say in driver contracts and the majority of the problems both drivers had happened before he even joined the team. He was probably begging that they gave him some transparency from the team
@@elcactusdelamuerte506BS. If the team principal has no say then who does? He shouldn't have taken the job in the first place of that were the case. Just excuses
@@yomamasohot6411 it's not bs go read both stories involving oscar and Fernando the issues with their contracts mostly happened before otmar joined the team (Weber was already talking to McLaren after being told he was free to go and the contract Alonso was offered but never signed had already been given to him). The blame lands on the head of Rossi who handled both contracts and really the guys at the top of alpine/Renault's sporting division.
You're right it's ridiculous the team principle has no say over the team and yet people wonder why alpine/Renault have done nothing since rejoining F1. It's underfunded with people who don't know what they're doing overulling the likes of Cyril, Prost and Otmar who while not the greatest f1 minds at least knew the basics of how to run a team.
Why accept the job? He was unemployed and was given a multimillion contract, would you turn that down?
Coming up, more episodes of Alpine problems in DTS season 7...
i recalled watching gasly ocon crash scene like 4 times for 3 different series.
wheres RB?
It's actually quite nice to see Claire back.
Race 1 2024 - two senior technical managers had resigned before race and ALPINE qualified 19th & 20th knowing they made their worst car in their history. The DTS is really about everyone but these drivers. In the race both cars were the slowest and the only cars that finished behind them had time delays reasons.
Ocon did the exact same thing in Brazil to gasly by looking back and blocking his teammate
I love to see how this team is the laughing stock of the whole Formula one
Ocon doesn't get along well with his teammates. From Checo to Alonso and now Gasly.
It’s probably just Netflix editing but Gasly feels unbearably arrogant
There's a word for that: french ;-)
@@grunchlkare they really? The only arrogant people I have heard are the Americans and the Brits.
I cannot wait for Gasly to leave Alpine and join a better team. Which is everyone else
The summary of French Civil War in 5 minutes.
I was vacationed in Paris when the crash occured. I was watching restaurant caters fir F1. The french were silent.
Ocon "Its definitely not ideal for sure" me thinking you have been saying that for years
The Alpine Implosion is gonna be double this video's length in 2024 at least
I don't know why, but I think out of their incidents together, this (@ 0:34) keeps one awake and the other to sleep at night.
I'll let you figure out which ones which.
I'm an Ocon fan, but i understand he's not the easiest to get along with
neither is checo tbf, he just needs to buckle down to max in RBR because he is lacking talent.
What is there to be a fan of? He’s not a top 5 driver and he’s not likeable .
@@frederickpikovsky3586 wtf? you dont decide who is likeable and who isnt. Ocon compared to almost everyone of the grid comes out of a poor family.
Also, your top5 arent everyones top5?
Are we only allowed to like your top5? Why has checo any fans? he isnt even a top10 driver. such bs you wrote.
@@mountain_dewdPoor and poverty aren't the same thing. He wasn't in poverty, just below average with wages and livelihood.
@@slimstrait780 nobody out of poverty makes it into f1 because even if the whole family puts together they can’t afford a kart, or you see drivers from central Africa or similar ? ocon is still the poorest upbringing of the grid. And I said nothing else.

Drive to survive is like watching fast and furious reality show 😂😂
i can’t wait for season 7😂😂😂
Laurent Rossi is just a clown
so is Bruno Famin.
Thats the real story
@xj3fhfired Otmar to keep the position. Evidently has the leadership of a toast, and het is turning a mid-field team into a backmarker. I can bet that Alpine ends 9th or 8th in the championship this year.
Evidently, he is also the mastermind behind the fiber carbon livery to save some grams in his overweight car.
FERNANDO ALONSO LOLOLO FERNANDO ALONSO

Always happy to see the downfall of Alpine. Someone needs to take over that team ASAP to save the legacy of the Enstone factory.
Bring back Lotus smh
@@Xiphactinusyes!!
@@Sparrow.31they are 2 time world champs, and renault engines won 10+ wdc and wcc, considering this is THE renault factory team…
thats why nobody likes ocon. cant bond with anyone. i miss those yuki gasly days
Ocon had problems with every teammate he had. And he has no raw talent back him up. The proof that Alpine is being headed by boneheaded managers is by signing Ocon for multiple years.
If he wasnt french he wouldn't be in an F1 car. That simple.
TF are you talking about?@@Sparrow.31
He's telling the truth, you guys just hate everything that french. @@pablosilva6932
@@Sparrow.31what are you talking about? I'm not really a fan of Hamilton or Russell. I do like Lando though.
Everyone’s being quite unfair on Ocon down in the comments. He’s by no means a brilliant driver, but he’s also far from the worst. The fact that he was able to get a 2023 podium in a shite Alpine under Otmars terrible direction is proof enough of that. He has the skill to be in F1, though I’d bet against him ever winning a championship. Under the right direction, I can see Alpine and Ocon making semi-regular podiums like Renault, but not consistent wins.
He was never this hated before he beat Alonso, now everything is apparently his fault 😭
I have been watching F1 for a long long time, this is my first time watching netflix flips. This paints everything as being soo dramatic, I mean it is but calm your horses a little bit.
as a frenchman, im so disappointed…
Gasly has more driving potential than Ocon. Ocon is just a survivor who will do anything to stay in F1. He'll sabotage a team-mate to achieve this.
I mean in Australia kind of Gasly's fault he wasn't looking at his mirror
is that Leclerc’s Logo???
I think Ocon is the least likeable person on the grid.
Petition to remove Alpine and get Cadillac In.
no, better to remove haas.. alpine/renault is actually a factory team, and we dont have much of those on the grid anyways.
Haas should be remove. Hasn't brought anything positive to F1 anyway
Bruno Famin was not fine in the end
0:33 this is the reason Ocon will never be successful in F1. He focuses on beating his teammate rather than winning.
Drivers crash into eachother...
Otmar: this is fine.
Alpine: Otmar you suck as TP, you're fired.
Otmar: this is fine.
(Exits stage left, during a race weekend)
Ngl.... Otmar leaving was kinda sad. 😢
He seems nice (too nice) but he didn't seem to be an active team principal at all. He was quite bad at it, particularly dealing with employees and giving them clear goals and rules
@@dubsessed9790 Yeah. You're right. He could've done a better job at managing overall. But it was still kinda sad.
Horner 😂😂😂😂
They're just coworkers basically, don't know why they're making it a big deal
It's funny how they pinned all the blame on Otmar but said nothing about Rossi who mismanaged the drivers and got fired, and treated Famin like a hero even tho he built the trash Renault engine
de Meo desevers blame too. He hired Rossi to drive Alpine into a ditch.
otmar was to blame, the man kept being on denial it was unsufferable
@@cecilelpt5808he wasn't in denial he was trying to keep his job. If you get paid to make your team look good are you A going to go on stage and say everythings fine while echoing what the company is telling you to say or B say it's a mess where no one knows what they're doing and the bosses are incompetent
Keep his job by attempting to tarnish younger driver's reputation, gossiped false rumours about Piastri being unloyal to the team. When in reality the contract has been expired and Webber/Piastri were looking for a new job in F1. People were bashing Alonso/Webber/Piastri for months. Even Toto condemned Piastri for not being loyal to Alpine.
DTS season 7 episode Battle For P19
Alpimploding
I think the problem is Ocon
At alpine? Nah the team is rotten from the top down
They covered this but not how the drivers were loterallt dying in Abu Dhabj
Now do one where it's about Danika Patrick always wanting attention and being anoying
The subtitles literally say "Danica in English"... no one who speaks fluent English can understand her.
Before i saw the show i didn't care much for this team (how can they lose Alonso if they are serious about going forward) and i didn't care for the drivers (especially Ocon but both have a higher opinion of themselves than they should). After watching this i kind of feel sorry for them. They have zero chance of going forward.
@@cecilelpt5808 The cars weren't shitty and both races were atypical. They were great wins but they were a lot a product of circumstances. And when i mean average i don't mean they are bad. Every driver there is very good. But i feel they are average when considering the rest of the drivers. Above them are drivers like Max, Alonso, Leclerc, Norris and Hamilton. And below Sargent and Magnussen. All the others are very close between them i think. But a works team like Alpine i feel deserved a top driver. And Alonso and Piastri was a dream for them.
@@cecilelpt5808 Alpine didn't have mediocre car at least the last year, but I agree with Gasly ,he drove Alpha Tauri, pretty much it is a tractor.

It's funny how everyone is critisizing DTS by saying they are real "connaisseur" when they say Alpine don't have it's place here, that they should sell or expelled etc etc,
Guys, Alpine in not even the worst team! WTF are you saying?
AND when you know that in F1, everything change sooo fast, nothing is fixated, Alpine could be smashing it tomorrow, or not.
But Mercedes was leading just a few years ago, and williams sucked to no ends, and look at them now
Everything can change, that's what we like about f1
caugh caugh... P 19 and 20 ... for a factory team they are an embarrassment for all of racing.
They're mismanaged and significantly underfunded, they have no chance. How long ago did they return to F1? About a decade? It was only last year they stated that trying to become world champions while spending less money than anyone else hasn't worked for them and they MIGHT need to change that approach. It took them years to realise what most people can work out in 5 seconds and even then theyre not 100% sure
Definitely Alpine needs to go under new management.
a rivalry truly nobody cares about, even Roscoe vs Bottas was more interesting
lfmo😂😂
So this the F1 soap series ? That’s why lots off people don’t know a clue about F1 . They only watch this soap series
Alpine as a team has been the definition of mediocre for the past decade
