Going back a while here, but in 2011 I flew Air Southwest from Newquay to Newcastle and that flight was operated by Eastern Airways. I think the plane had ASW livery though. Nice flight too.
Ironic because Eastern bought airline called Air Southwest that used to operate this route starting at Plymouth, to Newquay then onto Gatwick. Eastern said it was unprofitable and axed it, which led to ASW making massive losses and eventually being shut down. Now they're back operating the same route being paid by the government.
This is one flight I'd like to do in the opposite direction as I live near Gatwick. I've not flown for 40yrs and want to do a local flight before I get on a bigger jet. Sounds just what I'm looking for, no crowds and easy check in/out.
It's really nice to see a positive trip report of a flight on Eastern Airways. Looks like a great service and the flight was punctual. They have received some bad press over lengthy delays and cancellations to their Paris Orly flights which are also operated by the ATR72. Perhaps with NQY-LGW being a public service obligation route they make more of an effort with respect to reliability. The cabin looks modern- very similar to the Loganair ATRs which I flew on recently. Also, the domestic area at LGW South Terminal has been in operation for many years. Cityflyer Express and Flybe flights used to operate from these stands as well as easyJet flights to BFS, EDI and GLA before they consolidated operations in the North Terminal.
UIA, before the war, used to do in flight snacks / meals service at least on their KBP - HRK and KBP - ODS runs. The Vietnam Airways plane was at the STS aviation services depot there, so gettign somethign fixed or maybe a refurb.
Hi Freddie stumbled across ur channel - only because wanted to know what the flight would be like, I’ve never been on a plane before so I’m going to take a short flight to cornwall from Gatwick soon and I’m very nervous, Thankyou for the video

Nice, they’re a great little airline!
@@freddiesflightreviews yeah I am excited
It may be tiny But it’s runway can handle a B.747 That’s more than most regional airports
Great video

Hope you enjoy it! As you can probably tell I love flying, but if any issues you can always get the sleeper train back from Cornwall to London.
Not according to many!
Snacks on a short domestic flight, unheard of for BA
BA provide a snack and a drink in short haul domestic.
