I was privileged to watch the classic final in 1990 when Serevi inspired Fiji to their epic win over New Zealand in the final. A moment I will never forget. The current team are keeping that proud reputation alive.

One of the top world rugby official is french. He was the one that push for the World 15 competition to exclude any pacific island nation. Probably the case here. Unfortunately, Fiji was faultless leading up to all their tries and there defence was great.

The problem is very simple: When the ref "refers to the video" they then become LITERAL in their... get this... "interpretation!" So for example the French player ducked his head down, then the Fijian player clasped his arms around at "this level of height" but still managed to contact the ball and not the head/neck. It was thus via interpretation NOT HIGH! But because of literal-mindedness and FEAR from refs due to loss of authority via checking and the pressure that puts on to "go by the letter of the rules from the book" (note not what the hell is in front of you in the action of the moment!) and hence the use of stupidity is in evidence by referees. Simple solution? Get rid of Video Referee - only use for corner cases: 1. Post-match citing dangerous play 2. checking grounding (if they must). The referee is the best arbiter of progressing the game forwards in time with consistency and human-speed of interpretation not machine. Technology: Toys in the hands of babes. It reduces the quality of the spectacle and entertainment and power of the moment that humans need from sport.

I don't understand why many Fiji fans go on about a right call made by the ref don't they know the rules . And by the way you won so why all this nonsense?
