Dude I just finished watching the last Spelljammer and I have to say Pepper that was the single coolest session I have ever seen in DnD. That is the first time I have actually seen horror done well for a high level party, a super intense combat for a high level party and then the laser pointer at the end was the most creative way to kill a boss. You don’t need to worry about a thing man because it was so fucking cool.
Sounds like Jacob is talking about carpenter bees. They're big and scary looking, but are actually pretty chill. Only females can sting, and unless you're bothering them or threatening the area she's laying her eggs they tend to just leave you alone. I get a lot of them at my house, they love these particular flowers that grow on my back patio, and they've never bothered me at all when I've been out there. Horse flies on the other hand are assholes who will actively chase you, and again it's the females who can bite and they do so to draw blood and feed on it. Their bites can hurt a lot!
I think the “can’t do anything” thing was fair because it eventually affected everyone, even the boss. So yeah you lost a turn, but that lets you plan for when it’s their time to lose a turn
This is completely random but if you want scary bigfoot Max Brooks has a book called Devolution about an eco commune attacked by a tribe of 'squach in the form of a found diary. Its not terrifying but a fun attempt at making bigfoot scary.
I always love seeing Spencer or Mia crocheting and noticing them get better and faster at it.
