This video was really helpful, I knew the 50W bulbs were worth it. I went with 4300K as it’s closer to pure white. 6000K is closer to blue which is why you get the bluish light (which I personally didn’t like), and ~5000K is the sweet spot for maximum brightness. 4300K also fares much better in rain too.
I see a lot of people saying leds are useless for reflector housings, but it all depends on which bulb you had previously as the housing is engineered for that specific bulb. This osram led is a 1:1 match for the filament position of my old bulb and the most important part is to mount the led with the chips facing SIDEWAYS. I can’t stress this enough, a lot of local shops aren’t aware of, or gloss over this but it is the cause of dark spots or uneven throw which is dangerous to both you and other drivers. I made sure to be present the whole time the shop mounted the led and oversee the installation, as we needed to drop the bumper to remove headlight housings. Make sure you’re present so everything is done right the first time itself.
I bought 4 bulbs for both projector low beams and reflector high beams. I never use high beams in the city, and now I frankly don’t need to. The low beams are more than enough for city driving, my stock halogens struggled to light up the road with oncoming traffic. I do a lot of highway driving and the high beams are perfect for that. On long stretches of empty dark roads they light up the road completely and gives a lot of confidence. It was an expensive upgrade, but a much needed one.
P.S: I bought the bulbs for 6K a pair from planet car care, ended up saving over 4K compared to amazon.

Does this work with older model halogens which has only one bulb for both high and low beam ?
@@shanedude120 Having the led chips facing left and right with matching filament distance is required regardless of what bulb it is. In your case, you need to use a H4 type bulb. The high beam can be either on the top or bottom, and there’s a shield which also needs to be in the right position(top or bottom), so best to verify how your original bulb was installed before replacing it.
Did you install Osram 50K - 4200k? How’s the performance? I want to install it… I have H4 reflector setup

Thanks for the video. Very useful. One suggestion - keep the iso and frame speed same in both tests to have a better comparison.
Based on lumen test machine, 25W (you mentioned) is about 2700Lumens/bulb in beginning, about 2000Lumens in stable after 10 minutes.
50W (you mentioned) is about 4300Lumens in beginning, about 3200~3300Lumens. For reference.

Have a Question. I occasionally go out on highways. Most of the time I drive in City. I think 25W with 6000K is enough for me.
But I find white 50W 6000K too bright.
Kindly advice can I buy 50W with 4200K slightly yellow which is close to my present Halogen 12V 60/55W H4 & Halogen 12 19W H19 yellow fog light.

The strange part is i was going through Osram India website and didn't find any model that are sold on Amazon. Now i doubt are they even original? Plus warranty have a huge difference.. my osram 25w led fog lights have only 1 year warranty meanwhile models listed on website have 3-4 years warranty.

The video shoukd be compared to stock halogen bulb so that we know if we need to change the bulb or not.
Both of these are much much better than the stock halogen bulb. It stands nowhere in comparison.

Repeat the comparison on reflector type headlamp. Difference will be more visible. Also keep the camera on manual setting to avoid auto exposure correction.

When will start being considerate to the oncoming traffic? LED is not meant for reflectors as it scatters the white/blue light making them blind. Don’t use it in reflector

@@KarDIY Not partiality. LED and HID bulbs are meant for use in projectors. Although you might benefit by illuminating the road brightly. Even low beam reflectors scatter the light and not safe.

Hi. If we put dustcap after installing led light, will the fan in led light stil cool the light as there would be no air circulation?
This is the same doubt I have especially for H7 it's reflector we need to put the dust cap otherwise dust will go inside and spoil the reflector.. for halogen bulb it's ok but when we use LED and put the dust cap where will the LED fan air go.

I installed 25w Osram in projector it’s brightness is not good as I expected so if anyone wants to replace the bulb of projector just go for 50 w it’s costly but worth it ❤

There are high intensity halogen bulbs from osram philips called as nigtbreaker...how good are those?
I would not suggest them. IMO, it's better to have normal bulb than any fancy ones. Halogen bulb that the car came with lasted almost 2.5 years+ got night breaker laser, was better in terms of throw and a bit more bright but failed exactly after a year. Got Philips dimond vison, failed after a year. Now going with 25w led, from people who have used it, it will also fail exactly within 1 year.
The osram NBrkr laser is abt 25% better than stock halogen bulbs. My NB lazer bulbs lsted me since 2019 till 2023 nov...
But you can try LED or LED projector and comment here

If it's a projector type you need an HB3 bulb, and it will fit easily. If you have reflector type you need H4.
Visit another mechanic just buy a bigger dust cap don't do anything with wiring

I had aftermarket fog lamp in my nexon which are offered by tata as an accessories and they have inbuilt LED.
Yes, you can install 25w led in your fog lamp but 25w led comes only in 6000k hence it will defeat the purpose of Fog lamps.
Thank You. But the led fog lamp given by tata also comes in white right? The 25 watts osram led also comes in white. So no difference. The traditional and properly functional fog lamps are pure yellow. The built in halogen fog lamps in the Nexon are not pure yellow and are not at all useful in fog in my experience. So thought of going for 25 watts osram led.

Will 50W LED light not cause visibility issue for vehicles coming from opposite side? I have seen vehicles with bright LED lights which makes really difficult for me to see. I know many people drive with high beam on. But wanted to ensure if I buy 50w for low beam, it will not cause issue for others.
I don’t promote using high beam or lights that can cause trouble to others. These osram 50w are great for projector and will not cause trouble to others.
The white light is not good for rainy and foggy weather, if you choose 4200k colour, you will get better visibility in those conditions. So preferably go for 4200k. It is available in 50w version of osram

Bro how are the lights doing now. I saw the installation video, you closed the dust cap and there is no ventilation for the headlight unit. Doesn't it cause issues. Just so you know LEDs throttle with high temperature, thats why active cooling is necessary. Will recommended to keep the relay unit outside and give small hole in the dust cap for air to get out. Use small net for dust protection
LEDs are doing good. Can't take risk of giving small hole for ventilation as moisture will accumulate in headlamp unit. Also, headlamp are designed for halogen lamp which dissipate more heat then LEDs.

Believe me that 25w led outperforms every other cars with led headlights, I'm personally tested it.
I am very confused what to put in my skoda rapid for better light and also in budget because i have to buy 4 light because in rapid low beam and hugh beam have different slot

I am running 4200k OSRAM. Feedback is good. Haven’t compared it to 6000k
I haven’t compared 6000k and 4200k side by side but 4200k is warm white which is good for foggy and rainy weather. Whereas 6000k is cool white good for highway drives.

Sir I'm from Pakistan. I have Hondo city 2022 6th generation which is called 4th generation in India which led is suitable for low beam comes with dual halogen barrel. Moreover led with fan or fanless which one is better.
