Thanks for the review, mate! Glad to see that some other "enthusiast" prefer fishing with a bolo rod. :) One question... I use full bolo rig (rod, reel, bolo float, etc), I caught a huge bunch of fish with it already, but my Steam Account still didn't give me the badge called "Downstream" ("Catch a fish with a Bolognese rig.")
Do you think that is a bug?

So, I have a 6m Bolo rod, problem im having is landing large fish. Too big to lift into the air, and when pulling up i end up looking into the sky and cant see the fish so net doesnt work. Ive lost a few record sized fish because I literally cant pull them in. The lines stop reeling in atleast 10m from shore which in most cases they arent tired so they are still fighting as you are pulling. I dont know how to lift the rod while looking at the fish to pick it up. It doesnt lift high enough to bring the fish to me. Any suggestions?

Have you tried slowly walking backwards, pulling the fish on land ? They have a hard time fighting once they're out of the water.

@@Thurasiz Actually I have tried that but doesnt work. Large fish are just as hard to pull on land and get stuck on the edge of shore, ending up breaking line with fish just sitting there and you cant grab it even though its right there. Guess its no longer really a fish when the line breaks. Ive gotten better at timing when to start lifting the rod to actually yank the fish out of the water although doesnt work with the big ones. Still dont like how the line wont reel in past a certain point when you have a fish on. Should be able to reel in just as far as you can before you cast out.

The problem is that in game you cannot have a 4-4,5 meters long landing net handle. In real life nobody would ever use 2-3 meters long landing nets for 6-8 meters long rods (any time), because the result would be a broken rod.
Moreover in general, in this game the usage of the landing net is absolutely horrible, and not proper. I would add a manual handling options to the "space" button, so while you are pushing it constantly (I do with my left hand's thumb finger) your character should be able to reach the net handle as far as it is required.
These two components (short net handle and crap "auto-landingnet-system") makes reaching bigger fishes almost impossible.
What I could do is, in such cases I pull the tired (this is important!) fish exactly to the border of the shore and the water (so right to my feet), still holding the rod high and vertical with my right mouse button, the fish is at my feet, right in front of me... and at this point I do one or two side steps to the right, then into the direction of the water. With this move of your character, the edge of the shore and the water is splitting your screen vertically, the fish also in front of you, but now (somehow) your left hand is able to reach it with your landing net. While reaching out the fish via this way, you can even do 1 step closer to the fish, and even in case the head of the landing net is just over the fish, the program counts that your "netting" attempt was successful. So the fish is yours.
I know it is hard to explain in words, but I hope this explanation helps you.
(And I hope, the developers soon would add some professional, long net handles, and even big "carpers" net-heads to the Tackle Stores in game, as both items are ridiculously missing from the game at the moment.)
