Not a lot of people mention that the BIGGEST reason Square Enix is publishing Fantasian for other platforms is because Sakaguchi is really into Final Fantasy XIV and Yoshi-P convinced him to let SE publish it.
Damn, "Find the Flame" from XVI works better then I thought it would for turn based battle. Kinda makes me want a turn based version of XVI now. Also, hard mode is the original difficulty normal is the new difficulty they added in this version of the game.

He seems to be working on another project with Uematsu doing a few scores for the game's soundtrack, it's likely to be called Fantasian Dark Edge. With Square Enix publishing Fantasian Neo Dimension, I'd like to think they would partner Mistwalker x Square Enix for his last project (*maybe*, the last project was supposed to be Fantasian Neo Dimension, but we know how these creative guys are.).
Nobody Uematsu composed it, and yes, a lot of the tracks are great. I admit when I first heard them, it took me a second to warm up, but yeah, they are really good!
It looks incredible. I enjoy the new FF entries a lot, but i still love turn-based games. Octopath filled that need for a long time, but it's great to see something new in the genre (i was devastated when it was announced for iOS exclusive).
Another game I wanted on my Steam deck that has Denuvo. I want to play them everywhere, anytime not just when ONLINE!!!! NO BUY at all. Sad because i wanted this game.

Looks like square want to use their other games character design with some tweaking. Making the character looks like wearing costume/skin from other games 😂
Mistwalker developed it, Square published it and gave permission to use music from final fantasy games as optional tunes. They also added a normal difficulty, because the game in the apple arcade version, defaults to hard and the difficulty spike during the last half of the game hits you like a ton of bricks
What’s with the fonts in the English version..? Did they just forget to change the default setting in whatever engine they’re using? Looks like dog ass
As a long time ff fan.. the music alone doesn’t make it ff for me. Watching how uneventful the battles are doesn’t remind me off ff at all.. they all stood in the same place the entire time lol. To each its own though.. despite what many say, ff really has come a long way. Imitations/inspo projects, even if legacy acts are involved, never hold much of a candle. (Besides metaphor recently😅)
@BlitzZ lol well yea i should have been more specific. But i mean as far as the attack animations & whatnot. But i’m gonna take y’all’s recommendation & check it out soon. I may have not seen enough
Only english and Japanese voices? I really wish one day they use AI for voices like that everybody can be satisfied. I wonder why there is not only Japanese voices and you have to pay extra 10 $ for english because I'll never use English voices... So english people pay the same amount and they have their language. Unfair for others!
I started the game out yesterday and found the combat incredibly boring, the voice overs pretty bad and the turn based mechanics pretty bare bone. The game hasn't been brought over to consoles well, it still retains all aspects of a "mobile" game, even referencing at one time if I was playing with a controller. I mean... I was excited for the backgrounds being all miniatures but they are so blurry and contrasting with the characters. I put the game down and won't be playing it at all. Having the oportunity to put FF music in it didn't impress me, it only felt tacked on and made the game feel less distinct, as weak as I already felt it was. I don't see how this game can be enjoyed as much as Metaphor or Sea of Stars, or even Octopath or Bravely Default. It felt generic to me. I will say that turn based games have to have a little something more for me, being a 38 year old gamer who's grown playing RPGs on SNES and the lived through the golden age of JRPGs on PS1 and PS2. Having characters sit on their spots and attack at a distance isn't doing it for me. Plus the story begining with amnesia... for real? You're going there? Nah, not for me. Hope you guys can enjoy it though! I was truly excited to try it out and now that Sakaguchi san is working with Square Enix, that's like a dream come true. Sadly I didn't enjoy that dream. Expedition 33 better be good! I want to enjoy a good turn based RPG.

I’m sorry, but this doesn’t compare to final fantasy at all. It’s actually kind of a stain on sakaguchi and uematsu’s track records in my opinion. The voice acting is not that great. The story is so flat and boring. The environments are unattractive. The original soundtrack is also flat and boring, and by far some of uematsu’s worst work. The combat system starts fun, and does at least have strategic elements for the boss fights (the best feature) but the novelty wears off quickly, and the dimengeon battles take way too long for something that is so low risk. You feel like you’re just going through the motions to grind out experience. Wild arms had a better system of just being able to cancel battles outright The little storyline vignettes also feel like a copy of what was done in shadow hearts, but they’re just not interesting or compelling. I found myself just wanted to skip through them because the depth just wasn’t there, and it was trying way too hard to try and tug at some sort of nostalgia without laying any real groundwork that warranted it Everyone is raving about this game, and it doesn’t really deserve it. It feels like an indie developer just tried to copy some of their favorite games, and only did a decent job, not a great one

I wish we could get FFVIII and FFIX battle music.

FFVIII would be sick! Laguna’s battle music and the boss music in that game were my all time favorites!
Me too. It would suit the game perfectly. The man with a Machine Gun specifically would be so good
